Addressing the "mature minors" argument, an underaged individual who is "mature for their age" would understand and accept the fact that they're not ready to be partaking in certain things. In fact, the most IMMATURE kids are the ones who think they "have it all figured out" and insist they're "ready to do adult things."
@@memeyartist5591 i noticed that my father often mocked me for crying and that's what made me have the mindset of "crying bad"- maybe there's a similar case here?
As a former "mature minor". I concur, when I was that age I understood very well. People into kids my age are weird and the folks that try to argure mental mature are ussually creepy. The only way the "mentally mature" argument work is when it come to decision making of the kid themselve. Which if they are mature, wouldn't do risky shi't that need justicfication.
Mike's criticism was *really* good. He was instructing Alex about the value of creating a DSL. I'm paraphrasing, but he says something to the effect of: "If I want to add a new move, all I have to do is type in a text file what the button sequence is and the engine does the rest; whereas you have to copy all of the code for how a move works, manually check for the buttons, manually specify the hitboxes for each frame etc." You talk about what you *want* the game to do, rather than *how* the game does it. You have a foundational layer of all of the nitty-gritty code that actually does the work of course, but you make it modular enough that you can build layers on top that allow you to speak at whatever level of specificity you want. You want to be able to say something as close to "shoryuken" as possible, and have your engine understand what you mean by that. I sympathize with how it must have felt having someone you look up to tear down your work, but it actually shows how little respect *he* had for Mike. You expect to barge in with your 3 months of work and have him be amazed and lavish heaps of praise on you? He's an actual pro working in the industry, of *course* he's going to be underwhelmed.
@@unnamed7485 Hi there - a DSL is a Domain Specific Language. The idea is that instead of programming in whatever language you use (C++, Python, Haskell...) you build up a language *embedded within that language* that allows you to program declaratively. You could also build an entirely new language to program your game in, but building a compiler etc. is quite a task, so usually they are Embedded Domain Specific Languages. Instead of mucking around in the mud like Yanderedev, thinking of everything in terms of "if" or "case" he should be building up a language that allows him to describe what he wants the game to do instead of constantly focusing on the minute details. Functions are (for the most part) English words, so the idea is you can essentially write your code as sentences describing accurately, with no peripheral details, what you want your engine to do. Of course, it's rare you manage to create a language that so accurately describes what you want to do, but that is what you're striving for with a DSL. Smalltalk in a good example of this sort of mindset, you might be interested in looking into it. Lisp is another language closely associated with this mindset, but that often gets into macros, which are another thing all together (forgive my tangent.) When Mike adds a new move, he's not focusing on polling controller input, making the character move etc. because that's all embedded in the engine; he just adds the buttons to a file and the engine does the rest. I'm oversimplifying here but that's the gist of it. Some may simply describe this as "abstraction" which is true, but I think programming in this way, and having this mindset of building up a language that describes what you want to do declaratively is beneficial.
@@GuyDude-hk8uy Thanks for explaining, it took a bit for me to take it all in but it seems really interesting. I might end up wanting to use that in the future but I'm still pretty new to all this so I might have to work my way towards something like that. I'll definitely look into those languages you mentioned though, thanks
I still find it surreal that Scott and YanderDev started their games on the same year. Yet Scott has made a multimillion dollar franchise with a Hollywood movie coming out this month and is retiring, and this guy still hasn't finished one game.
to be fair scott had worked on many games before fnaf, and used an engine that is generally really simple to work with, and his games took just a few months to complete. he released the first 4 games in the series WITHIN a year of each other, so it's not like they took long to make. that's not saying that him making games that fast isnt impressive, it is, and it also isnt a defense for yandere dev, but i think it's worth pointing out that they are games in very different genres, with very different engines, gameplay, and features. still embarrassing as fuck that yandere sim has been in development and still not been finished in almost 10 years, while fnaf is about to have it's 10th major game release, along with a movie, and also has a whole book series going on.
@@BonkpunktexeThat also goes to show how Scott was more experienced with scoping his games and making something realistically achievable within a short time frame. If Alex was a better programmer, he could’ve realized right off the bat that making a 3D open world stealth game with 10 weeks of completely unique content was going to be near impossible to ever complete.
@@catcactus1234 exactly. Even without all the feature creep that was happening, Alex should have known better and actually tried to be more realistic for what him as a dev could make on his own. I feel that a game like yandere sim could only ever have all those features and work and be well made with a bigger team at the very least. Just like how minecraft wasn't just a one man job (there were several devs from early on, now a large team with backing from Microsoft works on it) yandere sim realistically can't be a one man job either
Scott was able to take criticism and (genuinely) find a way to improve or work on it. A Major example is when FNaF world came out, he took the criticism of it being 'too childish' and 'poorly made' and not only improve the game (including the Easter eggs) but also making the next game more passionate and content packed than any other game in the series (at the time)
People would say that it isn't a fair comparison since FNAF is a simple code game Bruh, 8 games in less than 10 years, a book franchise, a movie, merch, millionare contracts and more. Meanwhile, Alex the Groomer Dev haven't made a bean of progress on the second level of his messy project
I gave it a BIT of a pass with the thought "Eh he's annoyingly OCD about emails but as long as he gets shit done eventually he can do what he wants". the thing is things just seemed to grind to a hault more and more.

Best case scenario (Very Unlikely) Is him making his game free to pull off “his” assets from. Maybe someone could fix up the atrocious code, have actually doable and good ambitions, remove some of the “Features”, And ACTUALLY FINISH THE FUCKING GAME? Who knows. Worst case scenario (HIGHLY LIKELY) is that he takes his game to the grave, and the game soon becomes little more then a small, minuscule page in 4chan’s history. A very much real, and unsurprising end.
the thing about people who cant take criticism is that they are in a constant state of thinking they are canceled, which means if they actually are, not much changes. I doubt this is the last we will hear of him unfortunately, unless he just decides enough is enough, scraps the project and goes completely off-grid for the rest of his life.
Could you f**king imagine if the victim's parents saw the messages and Discord calls their child had with Yandere Dev? especially the messages where he brainwashes them into trying to covering it up. Yanderedev is somewhere close irredeemable, if it wasn’t for his anger, lying and lewdness, and took notes of his critics and get himself a team, he could’ve got the game done in less than 10yrs and could’ve been a better person. But unfortunately his actions made himself a joke.
even if you ignore how awful of a person he is it's staggering how bad he is at managing time / game dev. even early on "I spent 8 days reading emails and not working, I won't pay someone to filter these for me because the 2 hours it would take to explain how to do it is too much"
Yeah A lot of the stuff about him I just ignore because ... it's not really my fucking buisness. I mean seriously if we want to pretend to actually care about what everyone did or didn't do that most people call wrong and try to boycott every project as a result ... you basically have to avoid all of Hollywood, a fair few major game studios, ect. It just tends to come with the entertainment industry for whatever reason. So unless you're just openly ramaging like Ezra Miller levels of bad or causing massive court cases like Amber Heard I don't care. But putting all of that aside I just lost patience with him "Oh man I have to read so many emails and so many of them are pointless" .... then just make an alt account, share it ONLY with people important to game development, and generally ignore your main account unless you just want to fish fan emails for ideas and feedback once in a while. Also his continuous refusal to ever accept proper help to actually get things moving. I mean FFS how long ago was it he promised the first week to be finished and he's still stalling because "I decided it would be faster in the long run to refine a template system to use with all of the targets"? I mean sure on paper that sounds like a good idea but ... how freaking long does that take?!?! I honestly don't think he was trying to scam people but I do think he's just too stubborn to accept help or admit he's not a AAA gaming pro but still wants to add a bunch of AAA features into his game.
Maybe if the defence is too spread more awareness and less confusion to the actual definition and topic, which is primarily sexual attraction to prepubescent children, and how many “non-offending” pedophiles, especially ones who just want to live their lives without any intention or wanting to harm others, will struggle to open about their condition due to the stigma behind it caused by constant misuse of the condition. I think that breasts are, to an extent, 'sexual' because developing them shows that your body is ready to breastfeed a child. Hips are definitely not. Having a big booty might be attractive to certain people, but it's definitely not an inherently sexual thing.
I remember years ago Alex was brought up in casual conversation among my old friend group back in high school. I stated that I thought he was a paedophilic creep (he'd already been caught "texting" minors by this point) and also that his coding was atrocious. One of my then-friends at the time got incredibly defensive of Alex. This former friend of mine was later exposed for selling naked pictures of his 12-year-old sister to a bunch of other creeps on one of his Discord servers. He cursed an entire genre of hitman-like games where an obsessed lover goes to extreme lengths for their crush, like shushshush described. There is genuine potential, but every studio that tries a Yandere Sim-like game ends up folding to drama or some shit. Even in the best of scenarios, some developers just lose interest and motivation due to personal factors. I don’t think anyone even wants to touch the genre with a ten-foot pole on the development side now. I think the only games that get close to realizing this genre’s potential are those weird mobile games that slap on related keywords to catch the attention of any Yandere Sim fans wanting a mobile experience. These are probably going to be lost to time as interests shifts towards newer upcoming games to rip off though.

this is exactly my thought process. People just shrugged off his other stuff like the sex license for kids or the fact that his game did have minors in it and that just baffles me.
@ezrayoungberg3809 Alex proposed that instead of an age of consent, people should take a test to determine if they're "mentally ready" to have sex or not. Aside from being ableist, the implication is unsettling clear, especially now that he's finally acted on his desires.
Crazy how many of us didn't see his sensitive nature and manipulation tactics sooner. Then again, so many of us were in late elementary school or early middle school when YanSim first came out. All I saw was good editing, great fanart (koumi-senpai my beloved), and funny RUclipsrs.
I just assumed that part. I can tell from the first video he uploaded he was manipulative. When you meet enough people like that you can tell from their demeanor. Plus he was trying to manipulate me into taking his side lol. Manipulation doesn't work on people who see it.

When YandereDev was talking about minors, I was thinking back to that scene from ned's declassified, where the janitor is asked by a kid if he thinks a girl from the school is hot and he says "I cant answer that due to the fact that I'm 40"

You know, it would have been less heated if the guy who was fixing the code provided an explanation as to what the benefits would be before going in and fixing it. Just ask Linus Torvalds. Second, do we have any confirmation as to what coding format he was using? Was it C? C++? C#? Microsoft basic? Python? Javascript? What about graphics? Opengl? Vulkan? Direct X? Sdl 2.0? It can make a world of difference when it comes to slowing down development time. For example, choosing to code in C++ can be two to five times as time consuming as coding in regular C, not to mention it is much more fickle and easy to break then C. Either way, it sounds like Yandere dev could be a slopy coder.

There is someone who decompiled the project and looked it inside of Unity and saw all that and much worse.
Yandere Sim is made in Unity. Unity uses C# as it's default programming language. So Yandere Sim is probably coded in C#. If I remember correctly it was Alex himself that said that the game ran better after the help from Tinybuild. The main reason he broke off from them is because he "could no longer read the code." I was gonna write a big thing about a research project I did on YandereDevs "Sex Test Licence" thing... (if we take all the factors he mentions into it) And I found that it would actually raise the "age of consent" as the age results in most cases was higher than 18. So it's very likely to result with someone aged 20+ a range of 20-26 being most likely to start being eligible for this licence. With 21 being the most likely minimum age and 25 being the most likely highest age. A lot of 18-22 year olds actually failed each of the tests I made, even failed in interviews where I got a lot of Qualitative data. (there was some other interesting stuff, but that's not relevant to YandereDev's lisence) Cheating would be possible, but it seems that "knowing" about sex doesn't make you mature enough, so YandereDev couldn't easily groom a child into obtaining a licence. He'd have to do the test for them. Unless he's implying he is the one screening them and it's based on his understanding of sexual maturity.... though... I wonder if YandereDev would fail the test, because of his mentality on the subject. Since it's main purpose would be made to stop harm to yourself or others from acts of sex by giving you a licence instead of an age. Ironic really. It just looks like it would be his foil if someone else did it correctly. Kinda like... his game XD
if the test is supposed to be, as Alex said it that no 14 year old should ever pass it, then he most likely would have not passed the test himself as he has the mental maturity of an edgy 13yo
@@char1211 It was multiple projects and researches that had nothing to do with YandereDev I just cross did some of my findings with pre-existing research. I can’t give you anything on it because I never got round to compiling it for my dissertation which would have been cool. But the subject topic I was originally doing, which was, Criminal Acts through Social Power Differences, unfortunately made it classed as unethical because I basically got people admitting to crimes in my results. So it didn’t get a go ahead… So not allowed to release info on them abusing positions of power in the work place. Probably because I was meant to give the participants some other types of forms to fill out. (Dw, if you’re concerned it’s about SA, it’s not, it was mostly the stealing of property of companies they work in) But no, yeah. I would provide something here for you. But a questionnaire is such a rubbish way to get good info. You asking because you’re interested in what sort of maturity you would come under? I guess a big question that you should ask yourself is, “Is it important to have?”, “What does it give me?”, “how much do I consider my partner?” And then things like, “Am I affected by other people’s opinions on it?”, “How susceptible am I to content I deem desirable?”, “Are there levels to my attractions that I am aware of and can differentiate between?” These are just things you can think on, even discuss with someone. You could talk about fetishes or something. Normally if your answers lack awareness of a “bigger picture” of sorts that’s one telltale sign of immaturity. It’s hard to explain, qualitative data would show everyone does express themselves very differently but it’s this less hormonal driven or self-awareness that has a big factor for maturity. I dunno if any of this helps, I honestly originally wrote that comment because I was bored and the video played in the background while I was working, would have been fine if it never got any interest.
Just put it into perspective. I enrolled in a uni when he started working on the game. I have since graduated and changed 3 jobs. I fell off the bandwagon midway because the game stopped running on my laptop - before the panty currency implementation even. If half of that time he has actually spent on the game rather than his degenerate ways and useless features, we'd probably see it out wuth multiple dlcs.
@@unicorntomboy9736 I’m going to attempt to major in entomology, maybe even try beekeeping as well. Though I do remember having to mess around with this game making program in computer class at one point, the games we ended up making were incredibly simple but vastly more complete than yan sim
From what I remember about the story around Tonybuild. He didn't like the programmer they sent to help. Because of multiples shitty reasons given by Alex as to why he left TinyBuild at the time. - The programmer says that the development need to be stopped for 3 months (at least if they work full time) because the code need to be structured better. Alex didn't want that, he wanted to show new features each month at the time and refused to be inactive on RUclips for that long. - Alex didn't understand the code of the programmer. Alex wanted to understand everything, to not be dependent on that programmer, even for minor features. - Alex didn't like working on a team and not control everything.
As a real homeschooler, the amount of pain I feel seeing whatever this "independent study program" is called "homeschooling" causes me unending anguish. Once again the reputation of my lifestyle is ruined by fools like the yandere dev...
The problem is that that “homeschooling” can legally be applied to any kind of home-based educational program. It is almost certain that many, many children who are being homeschooled are receiving substandard education in circumstances harmful to their psychological development; this is also true of some children in public schools, as well as private schools. And I’m sure some “homeschooled” children receive the best education possible. But the basic fact is that most people are not good teachers, and most local/state/national governments don’t have the resources (or sometimes even the authority) to effectively evaluate every homeschooling situation. I’m not proposing a ban on the practice, but I do think more parents should send their children to public or private school when available, utilize professional educators/tutors and standard curriculum in their homeschooling programs, and to ensure their children are able to socialize with their peers as much as possible. And to support greater oversight of homeschooling, because even though it may feel inconvenient to them, there are many other children out there who need someone to step in and ensure they are not being functionally deprived of their intellectual and psychosocial development.
@@adamgreenspan4988another problem I find with homeschooling is that it takes away almost all of the accountability a parent will face when their child is in a public school system. I’ve heard it hundreds of times before, even in my country where homeschooling is pretty rare. Child comes to school hungry, or with bruises, or exhibiting worrying behaviours and the like. Parent is called in to discuss, parent comes up with excuse and child magically disappears to be “homeschooled”. There may be a referral to social services but any self respecting abuser can wriggle their way out of any allegation pretty easily. Case closed, child is isolated. Mission is accomplished. I firmly believe that in almost every single circumstance, a child should be sent to school. It provides a way to socialise, learn, play, and even for those children who are less fortunate to escape what’s happening at home. Children aren’t able to speak for themselves and they most certainly aren’t able to defend themselves. Having said all that, obviously not all parents who homeschool their children are monsters. There are obviously some children who excel at home, but they can just as easily fall through the cracks developmentally, emotionally and physically. In the real world, your parent won’t be your boss, your coworker, your teacher.
Christ, I could potentially defend someone who's into adults who act childish but are actually mature but "trusting" & "malleable" made my skin crawl. He pretty much admitted his intent by saying that.
Yeah im actually pretty childish and hyper and described as "cute"with looks to match that, my bf likes and is into it. But with how detailed he got in his explanation of his taste. Its clear he isn't into the cute factor but rather into the manipulating someone impressionable and trusting for his own benefit type, which unfortunately is most often children
@@partygamingz3332Yeah he admitted as EvaXephon that he has this mental fixation on a relationship where the girl is 100% totally dependent on him; emotionally, financially, physically, everything. On top of being a huge loser, the dude is an abuser to his core.
That first encounter with Mike almost reads like a prophecy of what would become of YandereDev. He got fairly reasonable criticism from a respected game developer, but instead of growing from it he regressed. He didn't learn how to make his game better, he "learned" that people around him thought he was a shitty developer even though no one believed that at the time. Right from the start he convinced himself that people just hated him and were out to get him, and he internalized that lesson so hard that he became exactly the sort of awful person that he was convinced everyone already saw him as.
I feel like he fell hard into a pretty common trap that people with self esteem issues have. He took criticism as an attack against him or insult against him. It's really easy to feel that way, especially when you have terrible social skills/ego problems/self worth issues, and Alex has all of that.
The biggest irony of this all is that one who was calling everyone manipulative gremlins when he himself was the most manipulative and scummy gremlin out there, like part of me belives he thinks life is a game and hes intentionally picking the worst possible choice at every option he gets
@@Garden0flowr I hearby apologize to all gremlins for comparing Yanderedev to them, it was not my intention to use "gremlin" as an insult but instead to say that Yanderedev is the very same thing that he acuses his haters to be. Alex Mahon - just as a human being - is the number one reason NOT to homeschool your kids if you’re not gonna give them access to any kind of social life outside of their computer…
My armchair psych theory is one of the reasons he's attracted to underage girls is because elementary school was the last time he got to interact with girls on a regular basis.
@@blue-hawaii-mc4vf honestly true his main views of women comes from elementary school aged girls and anime characters with all their sexist tropes and yknow… huge boobs, which is why all his characters are Like That. But I think that’s why he thinks girls going thru puberty is inherently sexual like he says in the clip DBO played. He thinks they’re characters that can be immediately sexualized because they’re “designed” with sex organs. Like, if you draw a female character with visible Booba, it’s usually because you’re sexualizing them (not inherently bad) but he doesn’t realize that’s not how ACTUAL HUMAN BEINGS work! Young women and girls don’t have boobs because they’re “designed” to be sexy, it’s because they have a lot of hormones VERY suddenly like he really cannot unplug from this game designer perspective, the metaphorical VR headset is screwed on tight
I see your point. Now I myself was homeschooled but my parents were smart enough to make sure I got to hang out with other kids at the library when I was young (The library had book clubs and groups). But I will say I’m thankful that I was homeschooled because I learned a lot more knowledge than the average education of public school.

i super appriciate you looking into his past, before alex was... alex? Ive seen a few videos about this and so far none of them explained that he was homeschooled had little to no social life during is younger years, which honestly explains why he acts like child still even as an adult. Not an excuse for acting like this, he seriously needs to get help and check himself, even if he's already wrecked himself Love your videos!
This isn't necessarily a bad thing if your personality is more anti social. The problem with him is likely that he is social and was abused. School is where you learn to interact too, but some people can learn that in like a week. I've met a lot of people whose parents are a piece of shit and he acts just like them. I am automatically going to think less of you if you homeschool your kids as well without good reason. The only good reason is if you tried and they couldn't get along with other kids. When you homeschool because you are a conspiracy theorist or something similar then it just opens a portal for abuse to happen. While he turned into a weirdo I don't blame him for turning out that way. We know very little of his actual background and only know of what he turned into. Especially in my school days where every other teacher was a pedo or child abuser.
@YuyuHakurei and to add a little tidbit that usually goes ignored in these cases. Victims that haven't gotten the proper help or care they need to move past their trauma do tend to become the abuser in the future. So I'd definitely be wary of his parents if there were no proper reasons for homeschooling him.
@@southernflight5078 He does personally need to deal with the whole going after underage girls on Discord thing though. No amount of abuse excuses that. xD

While im not surpised that Yandere dev is like this, the signs were always there, this is just truly sickening. Especially the video records and him guilt tripping his victim, i had to take a break off the video for rhe last few mintues because of that. I am so happy that so many people are starting to pull their support from the game, I wish that the victim can escape that man's grasp and be able to heal from this experience.
Omg. Going onto his blog post comments is DISGUSTING. There are FULL GROWN ADULTS saying it is the 16 yr olds fault, as if a 30 yr old man doesn't know right from wrong. Disgusting actually, and I feel bad for the minors talking in there explaining how they want to HELP HIM ??? I am so glad you are helping spread awareness of this sick man ;-(
You already know what types of men they are from just that. Disappointing Specimens that want to blame others for their inability to find someone dumb enough to deal with their BS full time.
IDK how I managed to go years without finding out anything about this guy. It was a roller coaster of emotions watching this video. At first, I felt a bit bad for him, since he just seemed mentally unwell and like he needed to be taught right from wrong, but that quickly changed with his approach to any criticism, and then with the attacking, then getting to the pedophilia- good god. I would like to say that my SO was homeschooled all their life and has basically lived online, but never had the proper face-to-face interactions to communicate with others outside of their family. They, however, would never be anywhere like this. They're sweet, kind, and most of all, they're always trying to do what they can to help others and to get things done. I read somewhere here a comment about the reason for his degenerousy and anger being that he was homeschooled and wasn't properly taught how to handle criticism because of the fact he wasn't socializing enough. While I agree to a degree, there are parents out there who teach there kids the difference between criticism and critiquing, which is why my SO understands when they ask for help and get positive and negative feedback. It's not about the fact that Yanderedev was taught to be like this- it's that that's just who he is, combined with having not been properly taught. Oh and he's human garbage. I hope he goes to jail.
yeah, we shouldn`t villainise homeschooling, although a lack of real-world experience that he never realised he should get is still a contributing factor

The crazy thing is, there was a time where i somewhat looked up to this motherfucker, back when i was younger. *and i didnt understand the full basis of what was going on till i was older* Pretty damn sure i ain't the only one though.
The slow way he talked throughout the email video sounded like either he was dragging it out on purpose to procrastinate about making the game or he was trying to let his mostly-child fanbase keep up with his words.
Nah, I truly believe the reason why he talks so slow is for his fanbase compromised of children to be like "Aawwww poor Yandev 😢😢😢, look how much you gremlims made him cwyyy umuuuuu 😭😭" and sympathized more with him

You know, like Alex, i once wanted to be a game developer many years ago. However i rediscovered a passion for creative writing thanks to a mentor of mine who encouraged me to pursue a major in literature and creative writing, which i will graduate soon. I am glad i didn't become a game developer and ive never looked back since. I sm currently working on a novel that I hope to get published. Why am i bringing this up? Alex could have made a few different choices and gone down a different path instead of the traninwreck he has created for himself. Alex Mahan could have been a writer instead, snd have published a few books or whatever by now instead of being an incompetent game developer. He has written fanfiction in his younger years (sure it was creepy and disturbing, but there was some potential and talent there). Yandere Simulator could have made for a compelling novel instead of a video game. Wnat a waste of potential and i pity Alex for wasting a decade of his life. He could have listened to Mike Zaimont and either cut his losses and chosen a different profession like being a writer, or gone back to game design school (or at least do CS and learn how to code properly) and honed his craft and learnt the basic fundamentals of game development before making YS. Unfortunately he didn't listen and the rest is history i guess.
Plus didn't he get the idea for the game from 4chan? There are two main types of people who hang out there. Predators & people who don't mind associating with predators.
@D_YellowMadness That's just the /lgbt/ board. There are places like /b/ and /pol/ who have a load of edgy bois who save cats, bomb terrorists, and capture flags.
It frustrates me with his "nature sexualizes children" tangent because 1. It's just victim blamey 2. Regardless it's still illegal & morally wrong 3. 'Mother Nature' didn't sexualize those children, society did. Men who considered hips and breasts, things needed for pregnancy and early childcare, sexual. If there wasn't a society that monitored every aspect of a woman's body, breasts and hips would be just considered normal parts of life. It's similar to how people think breastfeeding is 'sexual' and 'inappropriate' when it's just a mother feeding her baby.
I get what you are saying but you are in a way, wrong. Things like hips, which as you said are needed for successful procreation, are instinctual preferences when it comes to mating, as its instinctual to try to give the next generation a better chance of survival. That is also why women look for strwngth and heinght, among others, in men. This behavior is not unique to humans, as Male lions fight for mating privileges, and the strongest wins said privileges. This is still not an excuse for the atrocities that Yanderedev commited.
Yeah, those gremlins sure are terrible for calling him a creep and having evidence. And how dare they get upset that they're paying for a game for years on end without having anything concrete. And how dare they bring up the whole thing with TinyBuild and the fact that the game could have been done five times over of his ego hadn't gotten in the way. Such monsters...
Honestly, even before this came out, this guy was a terrible developer. Especially when I personally emailed Yandere-dev multiple times giving him suggestions for the game and to ask him why the game isn't what he promised it would be. What I got from the replys from said emails was that Yandere-simulator is the type game to occasionally receive updates and that it outgrew the whole eliminate 10 girls thing and that if you want the type of game he promised, then play 1980s mode in Yandere Simulator. The only way the main mode of Yandere Simulator would get the 10 rivals it was promised was if people gave him money.
I got kicked out of his server a couple years back for asking if the allegations were true. No response. Just got booted by a mod. I left the fandom and the game then and there.
So basically the only real entertainment from Yandere Simulator were the fan stuff and the couple of Markiplier animated videos from him playing the game
He's a sociopath trying to manipulate others, but reality keeps debunking his lies and dumb excuses, so even his most hardcore fans end up abandoning him

6:21 this is where I think we need to make an important distinction. Doms or daddies in kink relationship may want a submissive partner with these qualities but see, the difference is, it’s consenting ADULTS. Alex is living proof of something I tell Incels like himself often: even if you attain success, you are in no condition of maintaining such success and dealing with what it entails. We all need to improve not only make it through the cutting line, but also to stay beyond it, because any standard of life above underemployed bachelor and NEET entails responsibilities, liabilities and compromises that are almost always taken for granted and ignored by idealists. I have lived like Alex for a few years and I can tell that it's inevitable that one may grow accostumed to the freedom of being a nobody who noone relies on so you can do and say whatever, and live by no expectations nor scrutiny. It takes a lot of growing pains and harsh lessons to learn that the gutter is not real world. It happens for the better when degenerates die in the rock bottom of the well, because those who crawl out of it without shedding away their degeneracy end up being like Alex or even worse.
Was 16 when I saw markiplier play this game, 25 now. Havent cared of this game or anything to do with until hearing about love sick. Seeing people also try to get banned from the discord. Got bored and stop caring again. Now this shows up. Lot of lore you are dropping in this video.
Game honestly didn't feel like it ever had a future to me. It always lacked that fun gameplay factor. It's basically a visual novel that you roleplay out and not a game with actual gameplay. TBH the games he used as inspiration were roughly the same. Hitman wasn't really a game with a clear goal for having fun. You just did the mildly fun gameplay loop throughout each mission. The most fun people have with it is exploring the maps and finding the hidden stuff they put in the maps.
At this point Yandere Dev can't even use his money to get himself a prostitute to get rid of his virginity, because he is the kind of person that prostitutes would *despise* . Actually he's probably been like that for his entire adulthood.
See I think his manipulative nature has been clear from the start too. "Malleable" is NOT a good trait to want in a partner unless your plan is to be the only person allowed to have opinions and get away with everything.
The moment I saw just how much of a manchild he was with the first few controversies, I lost all interest in anything about Yandere Simulator. I was only subscribed to the RUclips channel simply to see how long it would take for him to actually finish the game. When I heard about this one... Well, I really wasn’t surprised. He had all the shit that he probably was into stuffed into his own game, even the option to get the main character *naked.* I’m more surprised that it took this long to come out of the limelight

It is genuinely disturbing but also sad. I've followed the game development since I first started watching RUclips, especially through Kubz Scouts. I never saw the red flags as a young teen, but being older with a more mature mind and looking back on it, all the signs were there and flew over my head. The panty shot mechanic, two grown women as rivals, literal themes of compensated dating and more, it was all there. Not to mention the things I learnt through an iceberg dive which I don't even want to touch on. It is sad to see the game now doomed to be incomplete and more than likely trashed, it was decent despite the many flaws and disgusting things in it, perhaps because of nostalgia, I'll more than likely think differently when I'm a little older, but it's for the best that it ends the way it did. The game will be missed, the creator will not.

Addressing the "mature minors" argument, an underaged individual who is "mature for their age" would understand and accept the fact that they're not ready to be partaking in certain things. In fact, the most IMMATURE kids are the ones who think they "have it all figured out" and insist they're "ready to do adult things."
^^^ maturity would probably also involve an understanding that if anyone is into you while you are underage, they are pretty fvcked up

Mike's criticism was *really* good. He was instructing Alex about the value of creating a DSL. I'm paraphrasing, but he says something to the effect of: "If I want to add a new move, all I have to do is type in a text file what the button sequence is and the engine does the rest; whereas you have to copy all of the code for how a move works, manually check for the buttons, manually specify the hitboxes for each frame etc."
You talk about what you *want* the game to do, rather than *how* the game does it.
Hey late reply but what's a DSL? I'm curious
Lisp is another language closely associated with this mindset, but that often gets into macros, which are another thing all together (forgive my tangent.)
When Mike adds a new move, he's not focusing on polling controller input, making the character move etc. because that's all embedded in the engine; he just adds the buttons to a file and the engine does the rest.

@Ajarylee-qh9ln Yeah the first thing I thought of was DRY (Don't Repeat Yourself).
A Major example is when FNaF world came out, he took the criticism of it being 'too childish' and 'poorly made' and not only improve the game (including the Easter eggs) but also making the next game more passionate and content packed than any other game in the series (at the time)
People would say that it isn't a fair comparison since FNAF is a simple code game

As someone who has been home-schooled and sheltered for most of her childhood, I feel bad that Yandere Dev didn't get a normal life and I understand that that can cause some delay in social and emotional development, but it is still not an excuse to be in your 20s and 30s bullying people who are trying to help you improve your work and/or stating their opinions and going after minors.
Yanderedev is somewhere close irredeemable, if it wasn’t for his anger, lying and lewdness, and took notes of his critics and get himself a team, he could’ve got the game done in less than 10yrs and could’ve been a better person. But unfortunately his actions made himself a joke.
I’m pretty sure most homeschooled people come out fine and can be sociable and not like kids
even if you ignore how awful of a person he is it's staggering how bad he is at managing time / game dev. even early on "I spent 8 days reading emails and not working, I won't pay someone to filter these for me because the 2 hours it would take to explain how to do it is too much"
Yeah A lot of the stuff about him I just ignore because ... it's not really my fucking buisness.
But putting all of that aside I just lost patience with him
"Oh man I have to read so many emails and so many of them are pointless" .... then just make an alt account, share it ONLY with people important to game development, and generally ignore your main account unless you just want to fish fan emails for ideas and feedback once in a while.
He just didn't want them to see his perverted encriminating emails and comments against minors and disgusting opinions of women.
Remember kids, if you ever have to say "well technically it isn't pedophilia" than you might want to reassess your choices up to that point.
But in the case of using it as a reason to defend child predators and molesters actions, which is what you’re thinking the quote to mean, then you’re right
"It's technically not" anything is a red flag. Not in the typical meaning of red flag like the internet likes to say but literally get away from that person level.
If they're children, it's CP, there is no splitting hairs.

I think that breasts are, to an extent, 'sexual' because developing them shows that your body is ready to breastfeed a child.
Hips are definitely not. Having a big booty might be attractive to certain people, but it's definitely not an inherently sexual thing.
Not just that, but the human body often instinctively reacts to some sexual stimulation. And some really sick people think that counts as consent
I remember years ago Alex was brought up in casual conversation among my old friend group back in high school. I stated that I thought he was a paedophilic creep (he'd already been caught "texting" minors by this point) and also that his coding was atrocious.
You do remember that was false right? When the thing was cancelled it was proven they lied about it taking a few weeks. Honestly it was doomed from the start, just being made to spite YanDev or something.
I'm surprised people actually used to think he was an okay person, even ignoring everything, remember when someone offered to help him fix yandere sim and when they actually got down to fixing it they found lots of useless coding which was just making development really slow and when they removed the excess bulk and it got fixed yan dev flipped out on the guy because why the hell not get mad at the person who fixed your shitty game
@@josephlh1690 'Else if' became a common joke because of how Yandev coded his game. It was also initially coded in Java before someone (not Yandev) ported it to C++.
@@josephlh1690Alex was using UnityScript, which is a mangled and messed up custom version of Javascript. It is so incredibly bad and under performing Unity has dropped it and now it only uses C#.
And even in the C# code Alex eventually whipped out, it is grossly unoptimized and mired in practices typical of those who don't have much tact with basic programming (such as using long if-else cases instead of switch cases, unwittingly unrolling loops because you don't know how to iterate on arrays, generating garbage every frame with certain Unity methods, etc). There is someone who decompiled the project and looked it inside of Unity and saw all that and much worse.
The guy who tried to fix the code was part of tinybuild so it wasn't some random guy.
Yandere Sim is made in Unity. Unity uses C# as it's default programming language. So Yandere Sim is probably coded in C#.
If I remember correctly it was Alex himself that said that the game ran better after the help from Tinybuild. The main reason he broke off from them is because he "could no longer read the code." So yeah, basically, instead of learning from the more experienced dev and using their help to improve his game, he just threw a hissy fit that someone was better than him and just pretended that never happened.

My job was pretty similar to what yandere dev needed- I answered emails and phone calls among other things. I handled financials too, arranging product orders ect. If an email needed an answer not from my I simply made a note to give to my boss when she had time. It did not take me long to pick up this shit because my boss was good at her job.

I was gonna write a big thing about a research project I did on YandereDevs "Sex Test Licence" thing... (if we take all the factors he mentions into it)
And I found that it would actually raise the "age of consent" as the age results in most cases was higher than 18. (there was some other interesting stuff, but that's not relevant to YandereDev's lisence)
Cheating would be possible, but it seems that "knowing" about sex doesn't make you mature enough, so YandereDev couldn't easily groom a child into obtaining a licence.
Kinda like... his game XD

You asking because you’re interested in what sort of maturity you would come under?
I guess a big question that you should ask yourself is,
“Is it important to have?”, “What does it give me?”, “how much do I consider my partner?”
And then things like,
“Am I affected by other people’s opinions on it?”, “How susceptible am I to content I deem desirable?”, “Are there levels to my attractions that I am aware of and can differentiate between?”
These are just things you can think on, even discuss with someone.

This isn't about you. This is him being a creep. It does not define you in the slightest.
i mean im not really surprised, he has a character in yan sim named "mai Waifu"

But with how detailed he got in his explanation of his taste. Its clear he isn't into the cute factor but rather into the manipulating someone impressionable and trusting for his own benefit type, which unfortunately is most often children

"Afraid of what your enemies will do to you, when you seem to be the only enemy you ever lose to."

Ive seen a few videos about this and so far none of them explained that he was homeschooled had little to no social life during is younger years, which honestly explains why he acts like child still even as an adult. Not an excuse for acting like this, he seriously needs to get help and check himself, even if he's already wrecked himself
Love your videos!

No amount of abuse excuses that. xD

Especially the video records and him guilt tripping his victim, i had to take a break off the video for rhe last few mintues because of that. I am so happy that so many people are starting to pull their support from the game, I wish that the victim can escape that man's grasp and be able to heal from this experience.

Maybe you just didn't care like noone cares about random things and now you will pretend to care for some random internet clout lmao.
yeah, we shouldn`t villainise homeschooling, although a lack of real-world experience that he never realised he should get is still a contributing factor

You know, like Alex, i once wanted to be a game developer many years ago.

It frustrates me with his "nature sexualizes children" tangent because
1. It's just victim blamey
2. Regardless it's still illegal & morally wrong
