@@happyclam1266My hope is that given the extensive portal network in this new city they will actually make some effort in updating the zones they connect to, to actually affirm that the night elves do in fact still live in kalimdor. It's all well and good to say they do in books, but it doesn't mean much if we don't see it in game. I would love to see lor'danel or even auberdine rebuilt in darkshore.
It looks amazing. I just wish it was horde friendly. Since the factions aren’t at war any more and all.
I hope they add a huge temple to elune. Definitely feels a lil empty without it. I miss the giant stone temple in darnassus.

i doubt that they will have anything huge, even a temple. some of the Night Elves are not as faithful as they once were.

06:10 Telonis was the OG (patch 1.1) Leatherworking trainer from Darnassus. He escaped to Stormwind (8.1.5) and has finally retired! Darianna was an Apprentice Leatherworker also in Darnassus and is now a master. Really cool attention to detail.
and I think the innkeeper was originally from the inn in Craftsman's Terrace in Darnassus, so good to see some of the main traders survived

well it's important that Bel'ameth not feel like a carbon copy of Darnassus, BUT this is only the first build, let's give it time and send feedback about the hue.

It’s hard to beat the uniqueness of a city up in the air, inside of a giant tree. I loved Darnassus, even if most avoided it

Seriously tho, it’s great to see them getting a new home and I love the design of their buildings. I just hope they add more actual structures. Boralus proved that blizzard can make awesome truly immersive feeling cities with fully open buildings.
It's not going to be a city-scale in the time of however many months ingame have passed by 10.2.5 - It will start as a small settlement with plans to grow. Which is what it looks like right now.

I agree that it needs more buildings to feel like a "proper" city, but the expression "Rome wasn't built in a day" comes to mind. It'll take some time for it to fully grow but I think it'll be totally worth the wait.

Honestly I was hoping for a darker pallet - more purples and nightly themes. This is more reminiscent of Feralus than Teldrassil. It feels like the night elves just picked a random green forest to take up residence. It’s beautiful, but it doesn’t feel iconic night elf.

Fair enough if thats your opinion but it call it "random" green forest like the Emerald dream is a random thing to night elves is bizarre. Also its not supposed to be Teldrassil thats kinda the point
this isn't about tedrassil, it's about the iconic purple shades used in every night elf zone from vanilla (teldrassil, ashenvale, etc), don't be obtuse

It looks like they put alot of thought so far into this. It's nice to finally have a home again! Now... if we could just get them to allow void elves to build a city on Telogrus rift :)
This is essentially tying up the Night Elves so they can focus on the others for a while. They had a ton of these night elf models already, and with the Emerald Dream half the job was already done for them - for the Void Elves to be able to get that amount of resources allocated to them, it'd take them being the focus of the story for a while.
Considering Alleria is part of the main 3 in the next expansion, I'd wager Void Elves will get plenty of attention soon. I imagine Void Elves, Blood Elves and Nightborne will all get their share of love come War Within and Midnight. A rebuilt Silvermoon designed for Dynamic Flight is going to be so fucking sick.
I'll have fun burning it to the ground again.
Oh I agree. One can only wish. I'd say though.. with the upcoming expansion... we could get some Void Elf lore quite possibly. If not TWW, perhaps Midnight :) @@Kevster921

That would be neat, but as a Void Elf player I think I'd prefer for Silvermoon to become a neutral city & for Void Elves to have their own district.
It would be sooooo cool if Night Elf characters got to play a part in building the city. Help their respective class and profession trainers.
I think the atmospher should feel like "forever night" in and around the city.
It seems like they just cut and pasted assets for perspective and are going to go back in and then fully build the area properly later

Its interesting to me that they placed the portal for the new city in a new sanction of the portal room. Kind of gives me the vibe that gilneas will join this sanction too and maybe gnomeregan in the future?

@@anders8461 At least Gilneas has epic proportions and looks like a capital city. When retaken it'll serve the Gilneans pretty well... unlike this night elf village in the totally wrong location of Azeroth.
It's looking great so far! I hope they build it up a bit more. Some of the multi-tier buildings from original Darnasus for example (high def versions), from the Craftsmen's Terrace. I don't know if it needs some of the Temple of Elune structures yet, but it wouldn't hurt. I do like that they're building up the areas further away from Amirdrassil as well, like the harbor and the 2 lodges you showed. I hope to see more.
It's looking great, but so far not quite getting the "Capital City" feeling from it yet.
Needs more iconic Night Elf purple hue around the zone, or the village at least.

Looks great but needs an a big arsed temple of elune. One of the reasons I love Night elves settlements is that they are across between Korean, viking, nature , Celtic and greek and Roman , I see all of them here except the latter
The central part would probably be a place for a new Temple

Totally agree with you. It's doesn't look one bit epic or unique. They had better renovated Eldre'Thalas in Feralas. At least that one still looks like a proper city.
@@deepblueskyK it was so cool as a kid standing in darnasuss to realize that I am actually standing at the crown of a gigantic tree way up in the sky, and I can actually fall of of it. Flying with flight master from darkshore to the top made my mind blow
I'm loving this. Absolutely gorgeous. Of course, it needs to be fleshed out but it's still in its beginning stages. And can I say, this place is huge! If they fill it out more, it's going to be something incredible.

I can't wait for the new patch to drop, I'm thinking one of those empty portals will be to the new Gilneas. (or I hope so at least) The new Elven home looks awesome, I'm glad to see they paid such great attention to detail.

It doesnt have to be like Suramar, but i hope that they give it city vibe in the end, this feels like a village. maybe some taller building, more houses on the tree roots. and i hope for a bear+owl bank building ^^
In my opinion they need to make the city more majestic. I get that the night elves live with nature, but a formidable Suramar-like city would show off their replenished might.
the first two buildings you go into right before 4:34 looks like replicas from a town (Ashran) I think it was called while you were leveling as a brand new night elf. Very cool to see. I've spent many days in that starting zone. Also the harbor looks like re-used buildings from darkshore with some extra details in it like the crescent moons.
looks good, just wish it was more blue/purple like Teldrassil
1. It seems they removed those floating rocks and treea from the Emerald Dream phase. Now they have to remove those dream swirls on the ground
2. The zone has to be lightly, the sun rays are a bit awkward for the zone
3. There needs to be Highborne stone buildings in the zone
4. The city needs a more defined layout,rather than just a few houses here and there
5. The zone needs to move away a bit from druidic aesthetics and stick to lunar ones instead
6. Needs a new set of music for the zone
7. Sleeping druids should be sent back to Emerald Dream version of the map
8. Some visiting Horde races should be allowed to enter unharmed: Nightborne reuniting with their relatives, Tauren druids
9. Some Alliance races should be allowed to reside within: Gilneans, Draenei, High Elves, Wildhammer Dwarves
I doubt the Night Elves would ever let the Horde anywhere near the new tree. They defended it and made up for their actions. That doesn’t mean the NEs would be stupid enough to trust them anywhere near the new tree, and it would disrespect every NE that died in Teldrassil.
The new Silvermoon in Midnight might be the sacrificial lamb to unite the elves in a neutral city. Not Amirdrassil. Amirdrassil is the home of the Night Elves.
As a horde player, the horde should stay away.
I am a horde player as well and I say that in all dragon islands horde and alliance were together and here is forbidden for the horde? Not fair…
@@firezonecrush999 It's totally fair. The Horde burned the last world tree. It wasn't "just Sylvanas", most of the Horde still followed her after it was done.
what would be really cool, is if every expansion going forward through the World Soul Saga, the tree continues to grow larger and larger and the city gets bigger and bigger and the architecture expands. That would be cool
I have two problems with this capital city in the Dragon Isle:
1. The Horde and the Alliance agreed not to bring their conflicts to the Isles but now there’s an Alliance city that’s aggressive to Horde players. So we did essentially tie the Dragon Isles to global conflicts now, unless Night Elves leave the Alliance after this.
2. Both the Horde and the Alliance have assisted in the growth of Amirdrassil and saved the world tree from Fyrakk. Yet the Horde gets nothing for it aside from a “thanks bud!” from the dragons. With the capital city, the Dragon Isles has become slightly more hostile to the Horde and they were kinda just left aside. (And we are also getting Gilneas so the Alliance is just getting tons of advancement into territories that were either neutral or Horde).
I guess it won’t matter in a few expansions when the Dragon Isles won’t be as populated, but lore wise, it still bothers me
Update: Bel’Ameth is an Alliance city (only Alliance portals in the hub) but Horde can visit it CONDITIONALLY (a buff will let you know you are being watched closely). Which makes more sense lore wise, but still, my two points remain valid.
I'm a nelf main and i love this so much. If i hadnt been playing my Nelf when i subbed for the first time i woulda been a worgen main instead. But if Gilneas gets the same love and treatment as this then 10.2.5 will be my favorite patch since i started playing since my 2 favorite races will have amazing cities to explore and live in.
I totally agree. My two big characters are a night elf and a worgen and I'm excited to see my night elf is getting a gorgeous new home but it's gonna be even better if my worgen gets to go home to a new and improved Gilneas as well!
That quartermaster has been waiting years to offload all that Darnassus branded merch he bought right before the fire.
It looks nice, but it looks far too small. It would be nice to have a proper Temple of the Moon, and more homes as well as more kaldorei focused creatures. It feels so strange to not be on kalimdor.

I see they have a portal to every night elf stronghold, but they're missing a portal for ashenvale.
A portal to astranaar would be good. As would putting out the fires in astranaar!
I liked the ashenvale / tendrassil vibe more though this doesnt feel night elven enough waay to light

At blizzcon they said that dragonflight will be the new player experience.I imagine, they may make it so you spawn new in Bel’ameth but then play through DF as the starting areas. But that’s when the next expac goes live.
It certainly looks like this is set-up to be a starting zone for night elves, especially with all the portals to other Kalimdor zones. Makes sense as "starting zone" to kick off your Kalimdor questing, as well as a main city hub to travel back to.
I don't think so considering that Exile's Reach is the new starting area for everyone and will be for the forseeable future

This definitely looks cool! I’m curious, though, will this zone be the new starting point for newly-rolled Night Elf player characters with the launch of 10.2.5, or will that likely wait until 11.0? Or will a Cata-phased Teldrassil & Darnassus still he the place where new Night Elf players start?
Captain Oaktalon existed before, but only in a short-story. He was the captain of the ships that evacuated the Gilneans to Teldrassil (on the way, both Genn's wife and daughter almost drowned).
I absolutely love the harbor. It reminds me of Auberdine, one of my favorite towns from classic WoW

There is a 3rd portal in that building, it's just bugged, you can't see it. If you stand where it should be, you can click it, and it will take you to Val'sharah.

I know it's an early version, but I really think it needs to be more city-like. While the graphics are obviously better coming out almost 20 years later, it pales in comparison to Darnassus in terms of scope.
This just makes me want a world revamp even more. I can imagine them using this zone as a leveling zone where maybe you do some quests in the Amirdrassil area, then portal to Feathermoon to help kill off some Naga in the area, maybe spend some time in Darkshore doing stuff, then come back to this as the capital city. Gilneas could hopefully also get turned into a true capital city with some quests in the area, perhaps they could expand the troll island off the coast of Durotar, maybe they could update the look of Mul'gore and Thunderbluff. It's a LOT to ask for, for sure, but I think WoW badly needs it and I think a lot of people like myself are tired of getting new unheard of zones and would rather they flesh out some of the stuff that has been there since classic / cata. Sounds like the Midnight might be doing a Northrend / Ulduar revamp, which is really cool because imo Ulduar is a place we should go back to due to its already established lore importance instead of them just making another "U" named Titan facility off the coast of nowhere that nobody has heard of which is apparently even more uber super important. I also always wished they would phase Suramar into a new capital city, but honestly that's just a pipe dream that will never happen.
The guy looking like the dollar store version of Malfurion @10:36 is Broll Bearmantle. I love that they are taking night elves from the old lore and bringing them all together.
The one with the antlers? Yeah, pretty sure that's him. And the guy he's talking to is the leader of the Druid Legion Hall, right? I forget his name.
Rensar Greathoof, Archdruid of the Grove. He is the leader of the Dreamweavers.
There are some other great kaldorei druids too, as Thisalee Crow of the Druids of the Talon and Ysiel Windsinger, leader of Outland´s Cenarion Expedition (9:46).

it's important to keep in mind that this will not change the Emerald Dream zone, Bel'ameth is outside of the Dream, where Amirdrassil has taken root on the Dragon Isles, finally giving the Night Elves a new home and a new beginning, where they can finally begin to heal.
Yeah, well a pretty underwhelming new home. Bel'Ameth, the capital village .... thousands of miles away from the ancestral homelands of the Night Elves.
oh like Darnassus was much fucking better... a cursed tree on cursed land that was created without anyone's blessing. easily a monument of the Nelf's arrogance and refusal to let go of the past. one day your lands may be reclaimed, but like Gilneas that will come with time.@@deepblueskyK
@@UltimateGamerCC Even Eldre'Thalas would have been better as the new capital city. At least it is located in ancient Night Elf territory on Kalimdor and it already looks like a proper city with epic proportions. They should have simply renovated that one. It would have been an nice touch to honor the glorious heritage of the Night Elves/Highborne, too. Not every Night elf is a tree hugger these days... In fact they retconned Night Elven mages and openly welcomed them in their society in recent times.
I mostly play Horde with a couple of Alliance toons. I am happy to see the NElfs get a new home city even if its not Darnassus. With all the night elf souls that went into making Amidrassil I would think the NElfs would be comfortable being close to the souls of their ancestors and loved ones.
BUT...I would not give up Teldrassil. Just to spite Sylvanas and the Horde, I would build a new city in whats left of Teldrassil. It may not be the capital but its still a good place for a major base of operations.
If its still burning put out the fire, carve whats left into a city, and put a monument in the center in memory of all the lives lost.
Not really sure Teldrassil is structurally stable enough to live in, not to mention that it's completely dead so living there will be a big pain.
I would make Teldrassil and the former Darnassus an end game raid zone.
This is not Night Elf city. It may look like it is but this is a horde hub now. My friend (a Night Elf) attacked horde player in it on PTR and she was killed by Night Elf guards. Fuck this
Love it, looks great! I hope it gets the proper city treatment. Same goes for Lordaeron for the undead.
Love that the live team gets to work on fixing up the state of the world. It’s important for the game to reflect the lore so people aren’t confused.
I hope as time goes on this new zone develops more purple hue coloring like the traditional Night Elf lands. As someone that has been playing predominantly Night Elf characters since vanilla, this zone just seems to lack the familiar feel. I get that it's NOT Teldrassil but they could always plant familiar vegetation so it has the old color theme.
Looks cool, but would be cooler if it was located in or at the shores of Feralas or Ashenvale.
It would be beautiful too see a big capital city with districts for each race obviously with an architectural design that represent it

oooh, it'd be cool to see like, a caravan of Darnassas survivors on that road heading to the city. Maybe even little, set-up camps along the way. Otherwise, I know it's new, but I kinda wished it'd be as packed and intricate as like, Boralus or Dazzar'alor, or even Suramar (which NEEDS to be made into a Horde city), but, I guess it's okay.

Love what they've done so far. Though I totally thought the city would've been built on the tree, not underneath. I hope this area will keep being updated and once the tree grows big enough, nelves can move up the branches 😅

Those are the old Highborne buildings from the old Ancient empire from Azshara’s reign over them that no longer exist. They exist as ruins only that we see in most night elves zones, Nazjatar, Broken isles etc.
@@ninaloveray That may be true for some, but thats literally not true for Teldrassil. that tree has only been around for a few decades. Those buildings in Darnassus were built within the last 30 years.
@@ninaloverayYeah, that’s a common misconception, although masonry seems to have been more prominent during the time of the Highborne, there’s definitely been some carry over into modern Kaldorei culture (and honestly, would they still rely on wood so much after losing one World Tree to fire, and Fyrakk trying to burn another?).
I love that the Demon Hunters have a banner and a rug on a landing.... "Let me just show you guys to your spot, here you go, welcome to your new home!" .. "Hey, what?!"
seeing those druid of the flame in the village/city, i wonder if there's going to be a questline to unlock character appearances based on them? i certainly would love that
Druid of the flame skin color was datamined earlier this season, so it’ll probably be similar to the dark ranger customization unlock for blood/void elves.

This reminds me of a cross between darnasses and tedrisill..like the copy stuff from both areas and then put them together a boom here your new area
I still wish it had more of the Teldrassil & Ashenvale hue, and wish it was in Kalimdor instead of the Dragon Isles. That said, all of the new assets are *stunning.* I’d be down for them putting pretty much every named Night Elf NPC here, aside from the ones that we know are actively doing something elsewhere - operating in Feathermoon Stronghold, or involved in the Darkshore warfront (even though canonically the Kaldorei have already retaken it) for example. Make it feel a bit more densely populated.
Perhaps the Broken Isles would have been a better choice?

I noticed there is no temple to Elune. I wonder if it will be added by the time it goes live, or if the lack of one is a statement about the changing feelings Night Elves have toward her?
again this is an alpha build of Bel'ameth, not a final draft. that being said their faith in Elune is probably a bit shaky for some, i imagine we'll be exploring that in more depth come Midnight, as we unify the Elvish races.

Ever since they burned down Teldrasill, I have wanted to see the new Night Elf home they came up with. Honestly, I'm not the biggest fan of it being in the Dragon Isles and I was hoping it would have the same kind of look and as Teldrasill, like how the plants look and the same animals. So I'm disappointed it's not like that. But it does look beautiful. I hope they add a lot more to it and make it a capital city like Darnassus was. I still don't understand why Teldrasill had to burn... but I guess we'll just have to live with it lol
Because Teldrassil was corrupt. Even in the vanilla wow intro cinematic for night elves, it said Teldrassil was corrupt. Fandral Staghelm was a corrupt leader and that tree was hurting Azeroth. I know I will probably get thrashed for saying this, but Sylvanas killing Teldrassil did Azeroth a favor (in my opinion of course).

Nice to see Delas Moonfang there to guide future Night Elf paladins (which is obviously going to happen as Blizzard keeps making all classes available for all races).
To be fair, with Tyr's return and Paladins from all over the world joining the Tyr's Guard, it's kinda a perfect opportunity to do that.
Looking forward to it, as I have long wanted a Gnome Paladin. They gave me hope when Gnome Priests first appeared, but with the return of the Tyr's Guard, it is by no means a stretch that we will soon have knee sized Paladin bubbles running around like a little hamster ball. (Gnomes, Goblins, Vulpera)
Thinking about it now, the lore for Goblin Paladins will have to be hilarious.
why they did not place it on kalimdor i don't understand it. like do they have something in mind? i was expecting a new starting zone with improved graphics and this was the perfect opportunity for it.
It looks very sweet, needs more purple mist+sky. Also i hope they bring the good old teldrassil musics back
And, as usual, this "city" only has 7 buildings and 15 people in it.
Was hoping they would build in the tree.
I hope we get new starter zones that better integrate with the newer expacs
