Hey, I’m headed down to Cabo from Eden Utah to meet my wife at an all inclusive (RIO) resort for a week of …. I hope! I have watched probably 100 videos about Baja. You and your videos are hands down the best. I hope you enjoy some form of remuneration for your time spent helping the rest of us Gringos. Any ideas on getting those Motoz GPS tires in Vegas? Thanks, Jeff
Thank you, I appreciate that!!
I usually mail order my motoz.
love the tips... my 2023 trip, my first down Baja, was cancelled because my wife decided to have neck surgery. So Austin to Cabo is still on my to-do list, I agree about Baja Bound insurance. They were great to deal with and reimbursed me after I had to cancel. Ditto to Air BNB, I lined up a string of places to stay and they all refunded me.
Thats good to hear! Its a ride of a lifetime.
Good stuff! Thanks! 👍👊
Good to know, thanks Rodney.
Thanks brother!
Thanks Rodney!
Good tips and advice Rodney, great video.
Thanks brother
Very helpful- Thanks!
Good advice!
Thanks Bob
Going next month thanks!
Its hard to beat!
Great video! Thanks for the tips.
Hi Rodney, a group of four of us is heading down in mid January. Two questions if you don’t mind. We’re following GPS Kevin’s lucky explorer route hoping it has some scenic off-road.
We will be in Mexico for about 12 days. Still think it’s OK to not get the tourist card?
Can we wing the trip if we’re flexible without hotel reservations?
We’re from Pennsylvania and never made the trip. Your videos have been very helpful! Three KTM 890s and 1 Transalp
The tourist card is not that much money for a piece of mind.
for off-road you just have to be smart about turning around when you need to.
I never get reservations but it might be harder on the weekends in the smaller busy towns like gurrero negro with whale watching season.
Great Baja trip! Great content and information. How late in the year do you do Baja runs? Thanks, Ken
APRIL
October is good, the 1000 race is in November, but the whales are only there from January into April.
Its just like Vegas, January is the coldest, and July and august are the hottest.
Found Loreto to be quite expensive. Decent hotels start at 100$, certainly not cheap. If you want more affordable gotta head further south into real Mexico. Yucatan…
I just got a nice room last week in Loreto for $70 and pizza for $7. If you think Baja is expensive you must not live in the United States.
Been wanting to ride Baja for 10 years, and it never works out for some reason or another. How safe do you think a solo motorcycle trip is now? My friends say no way (I'm coming from Idaho, but my friends are all dirt bikers and surfers from SoCal). And, are you going down this spring 2024? I have a klr650 and would probably slow you down. I also have a Stratoliner, but then can't do any dirt roads. But, what do you think about solo? I'm 60 by the way, so that would be over 2000 miles each way for me, and I like cruising 65-70 mph max.
There are two different experiences in Baja on a motorcycle, on-road or off-road. Its paved all the way to Cabo, but obviously the off-road adventure is a higher risk. Most people go down with others the first time, but its possible to go solo, id just keep the risk low. its a ride of a lifetime!
Thanks! I'll try to find a ridding buddy to go with then. I really like riding alone ... but for Baja, I better have a little backup in case we have any troubles or the adventure gets over our heads. @@MobMoto
Its possible solo, and people do it solo the first time, it just depends on your experience. I wouldn't recommend it as a first trip for people solo or not, but I was happy to go with other the first time and realized its not that bad. get a hold of me in march if you haven't already went to baja. Ill have a better idea@@bennyblanko3
Curious if you know if Baja Bound covers your bike off-road?
Im not sure what you mean, but I don't think its any different than US insurance policies.
Thank you!
The worst drivers I saw in Baja had California plates. Cheers.
For sure!
I don't know, seems like the locals are across the line all the time, and there are so many memorials roadside. lol
@@MobMoto Left turns from a major highway are interesting too!
the best advice hands down... learn a little Spanish!!!!!
You can buy a whale for $50?
Whale tours are $50-$55 us.
