Freddie even once said that all their harmonies were mostly Brian, which surprises me since Freddie is such an outstanding musician himself. It occurs to me, though, that with Brian being a physicist (he even taught high school physics briefly before Queen!) that he probably had a mathematician’s approach to harmonies and could ferret out the most dynamic ones.

I saw the movie when it came out with my father in movie theaters, and I absolutely loved it. The whole soundtrack made by queen is terrific, I highly recommend to listen to the whole soundtrack if you haven't heard it yet, a real electronic jewel.

What an awesome video.I was 15 years old when myself and best buds went to the local Fern Rock movie theatre.Our prime motivation was to hear Queen's soundtrack.Seeing the movie was secondary.In my mind the campy 1950's era,style copying the old Flash Gordon t.v show or films was kind of hokey for 1980.I know it was deliberately tongue in cheek.But to make a long story short.Queens soundtrack may have been The Best part of the movie.Of course being a Queen fan since 1977.I might be a bit biased!😂

This Flash Gordon movie, was actually quite good. I know it had a cheesiness to it, but that gave the movie a kind of charm. I also like how it was done in a psychedelic 70s kind of way.
Yeah, this movie was one of those ones from my childhood that got me questioning life and its existentialism without really understanding the emotions I was feeling. All I knew is that it confused, and excited me both at the same time, while also making me a little sad. Mindfuck of a movie for a 5 year old in the 80's.

I wasn't going to comment at all because my mum always told me "if you haven't got anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." But can understand why the dislikes. Generally, I love Queen, I bought a few of their albums back in the day, hardly a week goes by when I don't play their music. I don't play this one though. I wouldn't say I hate it, and I can't be bothered to click the thumbs down, but I'm at best indifferent to it. Can anyone honestly say that this isn't one of the worst songs in their catalogue? What's it got going for it, other than camp silliness?

We can thank Brian May for the masterpiece Flash soundtrack. He contributed most, if not all, to this album. I read the rest of the band got bored nearly halfway through lol, so Brian took over.

Brian wrote way more Queen songs than people realize. Freddie even once said that all their harmonies were mostly Brian, which surprises me since Freddie is such an outstanding musician himself.
It occurs to me, though, that with Brian being a physicist (he even taught high school physics briefly before Queen!) that he probably had a mathematician’s approach to harmonies and could ferret out the most dynamic ones.

I saw the movie when it came out with my father in movie theaters, and I absolutely loved it. The whole soundtrack made by queen is terrific, I highly recommend to listen to the whole soundtrack if you haven't heard it yet, a real electronic jewel.

I was 7 years old when I saw this movie at the theatre, and it was AWESOME!! also I was already a Queen fan cause my teen uncle that used to play their songs over and over! so when I saw the trailer at the movies, and notice it was Queen doing the soundtrack... dude... the earth STOP!!!!! WAS BEYOND MY DREAMS!!! What a great moment to remember!! and also hearing the LP was for me like watching the movie again cause the dialogs!!! Truly a pure joy!!!

What an awesome video.I was 15 years old when myself and best buds went to the local Fern Rock movie theatre.Our prime motivation was to hear Queen's soundtrack.Seeing the movie was secondary.In my mind the campy 1950's era,style copying the old Flash Gordon t.v show or films was kind of hokey for 1980.I know it was deliberately tongue in cheek.But to make a long story short.Queens soundtrack may have been The Best part of the movie.Of course being a Queen fan since 1977.I might be a bit biased!😂

This Flash Gordon movie, was actually quite good. I know it had a cheesiness to it, but that gave the movie a kind of charm. I also like how it was done in a psychedelic 70s kind of way.

Yeah, this movie was one of those ones from my childhood that got me questioning life and its existentialism without really understanding the emotions I was feeling. All I knew is that it confused, and excited me both at the same time, while also making me a little sad. Mindfuck of a movie for a 5 year old in the 80's.
It's a great movie, the weakest point is Sam Jones, the guy playing Flash
Nah it wasn't good, that's just nostalgia talking. The acting was bad, the sets were bad. The music was awesome.
