Great work, my twin deck aiwa wx 828 apart from working out the positions of the cam gears that were not in the service manual. I had many head aches as it turned out one of the main problems were all the front panel buttons i bought another deck from ebay as i broke a part of one of the decks mechanism's i swapped the board with the buttons over and worked fine .i bought the deck new so going to keep it as it sounds good with tapes recorded on my better decks makes a decent play back deck and because of the parts deck i have spare heads .

That's one thing I'm not great at, I hate stripping a deck I could possibly save for parts 😄

Looking forward to this. Do you have any fixes on a auto-reverse head which doesn’t rotate fully. I’m servicing-is a RS-CH900 as a addition to my collection. Ty

Unfortunately usually it's the gears that have worn teeth on technics auto reverse stuff. Unless you can see anything obvious stuck in there, it's definitely a good close look at the mechanism for the head 😄

Hello I have This same deck.
And the door will not open.
    Both belts are intact.
While powered on i can see the capstan motor is turning.
The motor that controlls the door tries to turn, going forward slightly then back just slightly like it doesn't know what to do.
    Any ideas?
I very much want to get this machine working
    Thank you

Hello your fault is the rotary encoder. I have the tutorial on how to repair it on one of my recent k661s videos, I just can't remember which one. It might even be this one

      Thank you for the reply.
      I have watched that video.
Going to order belts and new pinch roller and tackle it all in one go.
      Thank you very much!

With the power off and unplugged, and cover removed, looking at the unit from the rear, gently turn the flywheel a notch or two clockwise. See if that does the trick.

I have been gifted this deck with the same issue. Will attempt a fix tomorrow, hopefully it's not the connector at 4mins 18, as I didn't see where you got that from 😂
