  • By request. Preceded by Opening Remarks that's focused on a guy in the audience who plays jai-alai; a Paul chat; and the night's Top Ten.
    Featured in Viewer Mail is an office meeting with Joe Toplyn, Bridget Jackson, Maria Pope, and Kevin Curran. Dave then visits "Jizmo" (the voice of Chris Elliott), followed by a Christmas greeting (in August) with Steve O'Donnell, Jimmy Fitzgerald, Paul Shaffer, and encore appearances by Maria, Joe, Bridget, and Kevin. Finally, Jimmy returns with fellow stagehand Tommy Casabona to answer how much they're making.

    I was in the audience of this particular show. I was in the back looking lost and waving at the camera during the closing credits. It's the first time I ever went to see Dave. What a great time and great memory!

    The joke answering what would happen if there was no Late Night reminds me of the Simpson's showing what would happen if there were no lawyers or no Itchy and Scratchy.

    Thanks for posting... Jizmo became a catchphrase amongst me and my high school friends at the time. Damn that was a long time ago :)

    The lighting was so much better when they spent this summer in 8H while 6A was being renovated.

      So this is in the Saturday Night Live studio ? They just recreated the whole letterman set?

    • @johnvanzandt198

      @@alexcarey687 yes, SNL studio. They moved the set into the temp studio. I assume using a freight elevator. They upgraded all of the technical equip in 6A. The renovated studio then started using the new TK-47 (blue) cameras.

      @@johnvanzandt198 I just spent several minutes reading about the TK-47 (blue) cameras. Did you know that the TK47 was used by NBC until the mid-90s, but that a tape studio in Hickory, N.C. used TK47s until early in 2010? True!

    • @johnvanzandt198
      @johnvanzandt198 Год назад +4

      @@freeadrian1144 local stations used TK47s right up until they eventually purchased HD cameras in mid-2000s. A true workhorse. Originally released in 1979 I think.

      Some people did have home projectors back then, and you could sometimes buy films for them. Not sure if this was a joke or not given the airdate.
