What surprise me in the doc and your video is telegraf configuration: just use this token and run with this command. telegraf suppose to be a daemon and run by systemd or something similar. But that not even mentioned:( Also I think I want common task: have some set of inputs which writes to different databases, I found a doc about "database_tag", but it doesn't work with inputs.prometheus. Why? So this is so nice and easy to try, but you have to waster days or weeks to make it work in production, even if it's just a home server.
I genuinely thought when I set this up the other day on Docker that it had accidentally pulled Chronograf. It seems overly complicated now for users who just want the database aspect, does it still work the same in terms of queries if I'm using say, Grafana?

You can run Telegraf via systemd too, and use a systemd drop in to provide the INFLUX_TOKEN environment var.
