I’m a Manchester United fan and I was at the County ground for the 2-2 draw. We were lucky to get away with a point in the end, especially with Eric getting sent off. I felt that you didn’t get the rub of the green on occasions throughout the season. You played some great football and should have won more games than you did. 👍👍
We City!!! Was very lucky to beat Swindon at Maine Road 2-1 played very well that day. Deserved at least a point. And two future City players was in that Swindon side that season Nicky Summerbee and Kevin Horlock MCFC
I was at Villa Park for the Aston Villa v Swindon game in 1994. By that time Swindon had kind of given up and it was a comfortable win for Villa. There was a lot of hooliganism after the game with some trains getting smashed up at Witton
Sheffield United conceding 100 goals with two left to play brought me here. However, with Swindon this was an era where teams coming up, often went down and always spent in their means, not over the top like today. Also, they fought hard and gave it a good go, while Sheffield United not once in their games looked like they were trying, there was no fight when with Swindon there was in a very tricky relegation favourite situation.
I was 10 in our Premiership season. Went to most of the home games and Spurs and Man City away. Probably letting nostalgia and bias influence me but I remember us being very unlucky. The league table wasn’t really a true reflection of how we played. Had been to Wembley to watch them twice in 3 years prior to our Premiership season. A great team.
Fair play to Swindon. They always played attacking football. They payed the game in the right spirit.
