Your not to far from the truth. Actually, police patrols in the bad areas is greatly reduced in Chicago. That's why every weekend, 30+ people are shot.
There use to be an apt complex in the city next to me. These people even set fire to their own dumpsters and cops were afraid to go for patrols. It was nicknamed "little Vietnam" its level to the ground now. Same type of people.
Those are the exact same individuals who will cry foul when the police don't respond when they decide they actually want / need them!
And they’re the same ones who “ain’t seen nothing “ when the cops ask for a description to help find a killer.

they look at cops like they’re part of the problem, while all around them they’re their own demise. I worked over on the East side of Chicago, I’m Mexican and I thought OUR people were savage. Working amongst blacks made me realize otherwise, they have so much anger that they direct at each other, I’ve never seen a race be more disrespectful/ degrading to their own kind. If I was one of those cops I would have jumped back in my squad car and left. Ain’t nobody got time for that, time and time again I’ve seen the same amount of disrespect directed at me, while I was trying to help them in a way not even their own kind would help them. At least Mexicans support their own family members, most work hard and really want to keep their heads above water. I once drove a cab into a black neighborhood at night. I though my life would end. All night people are out all over the street. Cars just stop in the middle of the street and block traffic, they never pull over. Drugs and prostitution on street corners. I'm a White man and my whole family is from Chicago. My great grandparents immigrated there from Europe in the 1910s. I was born in the city and lived there til I was 8. The crime has gotten so bad that it pushes people out to the suburbs. The suburbs now are just as bad as the city. Then that dude, Michael Obama wants to say it's white flight. I've seen it go down. It's sad that people abandon the neighborhoods they grow up in because a certain group of people move in and completely destroy the place! They're so entitled..and there is nothing you can do to stop them from ruining everything.

My friend moved from California here to lake ozark Missouri in December 2019. He worked security here and had lots of crazy encounters, but never had to draw his firearm.
One day leaving for work in the morning a mercedes came sliding into his driveway and 2 guys bumrushed him in his garage. He was able to draw and put down both of them, though they both somehow survived, ran back to the car, and tried to flee. They crashed 1/2 a mile up the road and were all caught. 5 of them in the car. Turns out they were driving all over the state and robbing people. The detectives had info on this group going to all the major cities in missiouri. They had robbed at least 6 other homes before trying him. In their most recent incident they even tied the victims up as the house wasn't empty. My only disappointment in the entire situation is that my friend didn't kill one of them. Everyone in that car deserves to be removed from earth expeditiously
The neighborhood I grew up in experienced white flight in the '80s. Within a decade, the neighborhood transformed from white to black. To this day, it is just as it was when it was all white. The reason the neighborhood will always be stable is because there are no apartment buildings. Everyone owns, which means people are invested in the cleanliness and safety of the neighborhood. We need to create more pathways to home ownership.

WHY IS IT ALWAYS BLACK NEIGHBORHOOD?
Moved from the Chicago area not to long ago. Lived in a mostly Italian area. Then it evolved to a mostly Hispanic neighborhood. Then a few black fams moved in and started fighting with everyone. Me and a few others, who were white hispanic and European decided we were sick of getting harassed and decided to protect ourselves with nothing more than bats. There were injuries on both sides including my broken nose. 4 people total went to the hospital. Turns out that 2 of the blacks had previous cases already on them with assault, robbery and a few traffic violations. One of those 2 had a warrant. Surprise to us, we all got let go because all of our stories were the same and got backed by witnesses who have lived in that neighborhood for decades. The police knew what was up and I can tell you that they are sick of it.
Nothing good comes from blacks except job security 4 those tht work in the corrections industry
As a society, to go forward we will need to leave some citizens behind. If we don't, the next generation will never improve.

The problem with not sending law enforcement and leaving these areas to fend for themselves is that the lawlessness would spill over into other areas or cause such desperate citizens that they’ll start looting and destroying better areas because there won’t be anything left to their own neighborhoods.
