- The trouble with painting faces is that we know them too well. We end up painting what we think a face looks like. If we can paint them as a collection of abstract shapes, it’ll be just as recognisable …. Maybe more. Colour doesn’t matter, so you can let the watercolour flow and do it’s thing. Not a fan of these shorts.
Oh dear, why is that? I personally don’t watch them, but RUclips keeps hassling folk to make them and some people love them if they haven’t got time to watch long form
@@LizChadertonArt Yes i noticed RUclips producers are starting to create these shorts. I have given them the same feedback. The number one reason I am not a fan of shorts is that I feel it takes away for your talent and skill. I robs the creative process from the presentation. The effort you put into creating your art is lost. Beyond that the speed generates a feeling of frenzy that is a bit uncomfortable to watch. For those who don’t have time, there is an option in the settings to speed up and slow down the video. Also, it is very easy to skip anything you don’t want to see. For a quick show it may be better to have a half dozen snapshots. Usually the quality of the snapshots is better than the video. I’m always curious about things. I wonder why RUclips is suddenly pushing for this. What does RUclips gain from it?
@@Miastrong930 I think it’s a response to TikTok. They are only visible on mobile, so they are trying to retain a share of that audience. Instagram is doing the same. It is all about reels and not images now….
@@LizChadertonArt I have made my living in technology and developing computer apps. So I do understand trends. As the same time different products serve different purposes . There very likely is a great deal of material on RUclips that would be better served using quick hit no depth products similar to TIK Tok and Instagram. I do watch and enjoy those quick videos the are often funny and entertaining.
I said I wasn’t a fan because it is a preference on my part. Others may feel differently. The feedback is given to be helpful and definitely not critical
@@Miastrong930 understood!
