    I'd really love to use one of these, but I feel like you skipped over the most confusing part. At 4:05, you mentioning setting the lightest part of the checker to be "RGB 230 or 90%". I have no idea what that means or how to do that :D

    • @VanessaJoy
      @VanessaJoy  Год назад +1

      Sorry about that!!! Look to the top right, just under the histogram and you can see the percentages ☺️

      @@VanessaJoy thanks!! I see them, but I can't influence those directly right? They're based on the light on whatever my cursor is hovered over? (I don't have LRC in front of me or I'd test :D) I think I'm getting this. You're saying to adjust exposure/highlights/shadows to get the number you mentioned with the cursor over the relevant square on the picker. That the size of it?

    I have one of these, and use it all the time, had the older style as well, and it was a pain to carry around, this is pocket size and love that about the design change.

    I’ve used the x-rite passport video ever since I started doing video. Wish Lightroom or PS had an option to correct the colors without leaving the app. In Davinci Reaolve it’s super easy to work with the color checker.

    Hello Vanessa, I hope all is well. This video was very helpful with learning the color checker technicality. I shoot a Canon R5 as well. My question, if one has a session with three different lighting scenarios (eg. sunny outdoor, night outdoor and strobe indoor), do I keep my R5's White Balance setting in camera on Daylight throughout the shoot since I am using a color checker? (I shoot RAW) Do I worry about the in camera White Balance setting in the future unless I am not using the color checker? I thank you and look forward to your response. Thank you so much for the time and effort in sharing your expertise! Always greatly appreciated! Kind regards, Kevin.

    So... here's my issue with the product so far. The preset switches into the "Adobe Standard" color profile. It looks less dramatic on your (I'm assuming) Canon files. On my Sony files, it kind of raises the blacks, drops the whites, and desaturates the image. The colors may be more accurate, but I can see this causing issues with my Imagen AI profile :/ why can't things just be simple? lol I'm going to play around and see if the other options don't switch profiles

    might be a stupid question but do you need to keep the same white balance throughout the shoot? or reshoot the card everytime you change the WB?

    • @VanessaJoy

      That part almost doesn’t matter because you’re doing the WB adjusting in post

    Hey!!!👋🏽 Vanessa, so how does this work with skin tones and also whenever I have changing light scenarios…does that mean also if I change lighting position like from butterfly to side lighting as well or just from location to location? Also with gels and creative lighting would you still use color checker? Thanks 🙏🏽

    • @VanessaJoy
      @VanessaJoy  Год назад

      I would use when you change lighting colors, not lighting angles.
