90% of the player base won't even watch the dev talk but I just wanted to say that the great insight of both devs and the parallel between fighting games and action games is appreciated. I could listen to Nakayama-san and Matsumoto-san talk about designing SF for hours and hop to Zhenyu Li with ZZZ & action games lecture next door lol
Cuz they only want pulls nothing else those pulls addict
Clearly this is for mature audience only. Those who care and love dev actually put some effort to their work and represented what function and what's not
This was a masterclass in game design
its a very interesting discussion.

This is NOT a discussion about a collab, but rather about game development advice and tips from someone who works behind Street Fighter. Capcom and HoYoverse has NOT confirmed a crossover collab event with ZZZ yet.

Awesome to see them talk about this. Both games are very stylish in their own way
This isn't just a crossover. It's just a bunch of talented guys in the Video Game industry hanging out and talking with each other like friends.
Both of the devs provided some interesting info of what it's like making a game your passionate about and how the popularity and Player Satisfaction of your "Product" can determine its value.
We may not have gotten any Street Fighter themed rewards for Zenless, but to me, the mindset of a videogame developer is very precious to me. As it may determine whether I stick with a game or not. Zenless Zone Zero is going to be a Masterpiece.
Yes I certainly agree. I also watched maximilian's stream yesterday on twitch reacting to this video, ended up with a lot of interesting insights since I don't play fighting games.
I wish to see Mr. Zhenyu Li talks about his background in graphic design and how it reflects in the aesthetics of ZZZ. Nonetheless, it's nice to see the perspective and idea behind both games
I love this chill China and Japan talk about what they love.
Bc they are gamers, not some cringe politician.

This game is getting closer and closer to release, and we are seeing quite an interesting talk with other game developers!
I am so glad they are talking about the game in a way they are hoping will work for the long term, by taking example with how a lot of modern fighting games now are trying to ease in casual and non gamers and making them do cool things without much effort to the point they might get interested and maybe try to learn more when the depth starts kicking in later on
This was a fun and in-depth talk. Also spotted new characters. I'd love to see more. Excited for release!
I'm really digging this discussion, I've always been wondering what the devs are thinking when they build games, because when I get stuck or frustrated it really helps me to be able to look at it from their perspective to adjust my expectations.
oh god i hope theres a random gamedev CC out there who also loves hyv that can react to this to provide insights about how amazing this discussion was
not rly a gamedev cc I think but the only one that comes to mind rn is maximillian dood, afaik he's been covering fighting games & other variety game stuff for a pretty long time (then again I'm just a new-ish, casual yt viewer so I may not know much). I rmbr tuning into his stream a few months ago & saw he played zzz for a bit, turns out hyv reached out & asked him to try it out during the 2nd beta. seemed pretty interested with it, finds the animation charming
@@vnree thank you for this! ill definitely look out for it in case theyre going to post something abt this talk! ^^
@@mzshmknHe'll definitely check it out.
@@mzshmkn there are also other prominent pro fighting game players like Kizzie Kay & Justin Wong that hoyo have reached out & ask them to play ZZZ. Being esports athletes themselves, they usually don't cover the dev side of things but most fighter personas have a habit of keeping close to fighting games development. idk if that'd extend to ZZZ, but if they like it enough they might as well branch out?
Speaking of, I'm pretty surprised they haven't reached out to Jiyuna yet. Guy's an American expat working in Japan. He part times voluntarily as someone who brings in the scoop from the Japanese side of things, and sometimes generally bridging the Japanese fighter scene with the rest of the world. Granted, Hoyo is Chinese, I feel like they'd benefit a lot from also pushing it to him since many of us go to him for fighting game news, and its not secret that he also plays a few gachas on his own.
@@vnree By chance I saw him reacting to this video in his twitch stream yesterday. I don't normally watch his livestreams, but I learned a lot of insights about the game!
I love how the mentioned wanting to really push new and wild ideas such as Ben and Billy in a way that fits the world and their vision. It does make me wonder if the reason they haven't gone all in on those kind of characters is due to player reception, they mentioned how "But at the same time, if we do something new during the creative processs, we have to consider whether or not existing users can accept something, before making it." So hopefully the players are super positive about the wilder characters like Soukaku, Ben, Lycaon and Billy because imo they really show how far we can go in terms of cool and interesting characters. I wanna see super out there weapons and characters, give me a fox who uses cooking utensils or a shiba dog who uses paint and graffiti to debuff. We could even take other cultures and give them a fresh urban feel like Caribbean or South America countries, I just hope players are vocal about these characters and we all push our love and positive feedback for the devs to see!
For sure, I really hope we can see how wild the designs of the characters can be. It kinda reminds me of Reverse 1999 a bit too xD. Also the Shiba Inu graffiti sounds so cool of an idea and I really like it.
Also I think that they know people enjoy these types of design as seen with Billy and Lycaoon’s demo view numbers
@@snappieboi5026 I agree! But I think we need to be vocal about it in any surveys they do and hopefully the other people around the world such as JP and CN players also see the potential and are vocal about it.
@@_Cieluim_ I might spoil a tiny bit leak but I did see pictures of concept art in ZZZ that they are making a Boar character with shades and cool ass jacket that is a faction in motorcycle like that is direction I want them to continue in their character designs
I'm pretty sure Billy is fan favourite globally. Lycaon videos also get tons of views as well, so we can perceive it as positive.
@@kevinreyhan209 One is a stereotypical furry and the other is Deadpool. They are born to sell. I wouldn't count those 2 for measuring perception.
people would love a collab characters but for me I want more this type of content more not just in this channel but in general where 2 different developer companies sit together and talk about what they do and why
True, love it! Sharing their thoughts and passion is so special, so interesting !!
"We often say that simply making a game is meaningless. I has to be played. That's where it gets its value". Amazing words by Nakayama-san.
As someone who loves SF6 and game design, seeing how different genres have to think of similar approaches towards captivating players is a joy to watch.
This is great insight for SF fans, and makes ZZZ look even more captivating, given how much effort was put in both presentation and gameplay.
As someone who's played Street Fighter before, this Collab sounds nice

A masterclass in game design regarding the thought process that goes into designing these games. Would love to see more roundtables withother game designers just to hear their thoughts
I really like the fact that they really understand the formula for fun in video games, its not about just making something people like. Its about the full experience of the game as a whole that challenges and adds that sensation of childlike joy in every player. And i commend them for trying to do that for all age groups, young and older gamers.
This is for mature audience who care about development. Some of you guys may not like it maybe you never play fighting game. As someone who learn to get good i see this is interesting

im hoping star rail gets the fighting game treatment. There are too many characters in that game that don't deserve to be stuck in a turn based game
@@J_Shiho I don't think you understand the concept of gacha.
Gacha is when your accessibility to the character is dependent on luck regardless if you spend money or not. Fighting game give you the characters when you paid for them exactly as it is. No luck involved
After I played ZZZ for a while, now I understand what they're talking in this video
Thank you for doing this discussion
As a huge fan of both of these games, I really appreciated this. I hope there will be more discussions in the future!
HELL YEAH WU-TANG NECKLACE!!!
Very interesting and insightful discussion. I don't really play fighting games cuz I'm extremely bad at them, but I very much enjoy watching high level matches. I'm glad they're implementing these kinds of systems for casuals like me so that we can get eased into the game and can still have the ability to pull of some cool combos despite our lack of experience.
This talk on how each game reflect on player experience is so interesting; thank you for this
As a game dev who both likes SF6 and is excited for ZZZ, I am greatful for this developer discussion. Was great to see into the thought process behind some of these high impact mechanics!
Anime and video games uniting two peoples from countries that hate each other.
I wonder if they'll invite Itsuno Hideaki next. DMC series is clearly one of ZZZ's biggest inspirations.
I was always curious about what the devs were thinking about when theyre makins games and seeing one from ZZZ AND SF was a treat
These two studios have such similar company values and passion and detail to attention that I'm really glad that both sides are comparing notes. It's so heart warming and inspiring to hear them talk about behind the scenes lore and theories. Like it really solidified in my belief that designing an experience for consumers really is THAT deep and that there are a ton of work that people put into considering what makes it to the live product.
This was really nice
I have hopes for the future of ZZZ, I think the gameplay will end up having a lot of depth considering what was said here
This was a very interesting video, collab or not it was a great watch.
I noticed about Hoyoverse, they often Exchange tips with other developers/Artist/Voice Acting Artist/Music Artist. Its no wonder their game released is often high Quality with good Optimization. I already tried ZZZ and really hoping WuWa dev would also gain tips from this kind of discussion because The optimization is really really bad. But overall I still love playing WuWa and Genshin!
Clicked this video so fast lol, like what is this crazy collab 😮 2 games I never would have expected to come together and 2 countries with deep history makes this Collab even crazier
I really liked this dev discussion. It’s cool to see how both Street Fighter and Zenless tried to get new players into the game and hook them.
First, we got some interactions with the Persona dev team last year, now with SF. You can clearly see the inspiration ZZZ has drawn from with this game.
Persona 5's overall feel, with similar slice-of-life mechanics... then there's SF6's animation fluidity and (jiggle) physics, as well as more emphasis on each move's impact that almost feels like a fighting game.
Li said in an interview that Persona isn't one of his inspirations. Stuff like the daytime cycle are from Digimon World.
@@zaregotoch.8491 Never did follow the development of this game as I only took interest in it, recently, after all the drip marketing. I'm more familiar with the development of GI and HSR. I only went by what I was aware of, wherein Persona devs were at the Hoyo booth in TGS a year ago.
If that is the case, then Digimon World is certainly an unexpected deep cut for an inspiration. I still really get Persona 5 vibes from the game, though, in my opinion.
自分はゲーム業界には携わってないけど視点が独特で見てて面白かった。アクション方面はすごく納得というか説得力があるお話だったしまた対談が実現して欲しい

Most underrated video
This was a very enjoyable watch!
Matsumoto with the Wu-Tang chain is crazy work.🤣
The more I watch or just learn things about ZZZ, more I'm exited and I can't wait !! It's really hard to think that the game release is in FIVE (5) DAYS !!!! I'm soooo hype and I rarely feel like this during a long time, that's a first time for me. I hope i'm not going to be bad at this game or i'm going to cry because I love it so much ( i'm tearing rn X,D) and the creators are making this game with all their souls and hearts. I'M gOING TO DO MY BEST TO NOT BEING BAD AT THIS GAME, I PROMISE DEVS !!!
I want the next Round table to get Miyazaki (of Fromsoft) to jump in on this together with Li, Matsumoto and Nakayama.
Amazing game design discussion
When you read it from the devs perspective you kinda understand the purpose of the crossover between two completely different but similar franchises.

I really love this kinds of games talk where we resonate our love for games.
As someone who really likes (and plays a lot of) action gacha games as well as fighting games, I find this discussion about 'Zenless Zone Zero' and its Chinese action game philosophy plus 'Street Fighter 6' and its Japanese fighting game philosophy very interesting. Also, if I wasn't convinced beforehand that HoYoverse is basically China's Capcom, then I sure am convinced now.
How is your opinion now since you are already playing ZZZ.
For me, ZZZ combat is boring and WUWA is better than ZZZ.
Dear ZZZ gameplay devs,
I just want to comment to let you guys know I appreciate all yours effort and really looking forward to see more gameplay upgrades

Awesome Hoyoverse connect with Capcom to learn how to appeal to people even further through fighting game interactions. Well done and wish this was livestreamed tbh.
This was such an interesting video. I like the direction they want to go with ZZZ, but I can't help but wonder about 1 thing.
While introducing harder and harder fights, wouldn't those require a certain element or character/team? In which case this would seriously harm the game concept, because after all, this is also a gacha game so there's the fear of missing on one character that will, sooner or later, cause trouble for the player.
The game isn't gonna be that hard. You'll be able to clear just fine with free characters if you're skilled enough.
I swear to God until today I saw a TikTok about this. I didn’t know this existed.
Collab character would be insane
Huge SF and Genshin fan here. Awesome to see the Hoyoverse and Capcom devs sitting together!
What if...

I'M GONNA GACHA PULL FOR MAX CONSTELLATION MARISA!!!
This kind of stuff is why I feel it's so wrong to label mIHoYo games merely as gacha games and dismiss them like that. Yes they're financed by gacha, and how to drive sales definitely forms part of some design decisions, but they have every bit of the consideration and care and love that flows into a standard launch-price release game as well. The game isn't an afterthought backdrop to a mindless money machine, it's a real game whose longevity and continued growth is merely financed by gacha.
