  • The Zello PTT platform has 1000's of channels with all sorts of subjects and themes. Here's a secure channel designed specifically for licensed Ham radio operators.
Spam Computer is NOT Ham Radio. But PTT VoIP platforms are still useful and fun. Some are cross-linked and connected to repeaters. Some Hams live in areas where the Housing Authority does not allow antennas. Some Hams are to old to work on setting up a station. There's many valid reasons to participate in Spam Computer. However, an off the grid/internet "Ham Radio Station" will always be a more stable and independent resource. Plus it's why you obtained a license.
    VIDEO
This video shows how to join a Zello channel called DX Ham Radio. The channel is designed for licensed Ham radio operators. It's a secure Zello channel platform that only allows approved Hams to join. Users need to have a valid license, QRZ page and follow instructions in the channels description to join.
    SECURITY
This is currently the only channel I know of that protects Ham radio operators from other main stream Zello users. Other non-licensed Zello members will not be able to see your Call-Sign or listen to communications.

Please comment if you know of any other secure Zello channels for hams. Thanks

      Thanks for the edit.
No it does not. It's open worldwide to any ham radio operator with a valid license. The channel currently has over 500 members worldwide. But you do need to have your call sign listed in your profile or you won't be granted access. I personally also think you should have a qrz page because it helps other hams identify operators conveniently.

@@KG5JMV yeah im on qrz and a few others. listing a call on a general profile is not wise. there are a lot of people who know the value of radio gear and wont feel bad about raiding a home when they see the op going /m /p etc
its good do keep certain places ham only for that reason but also to keep your call off of social media. at least as much as practical.
the next step ends up with people having to spawn multiple accounts for ham, family, business, etc and all the complications that draws. it took 3 attempts for echolink to recognise my licence because.....america. and i aint there and have nothing to do with the fcc. catch you on air sometime. 73

@@noimnotarobotcanubeleiveit7024 I just made a new Zello account. I went to the DX Ham Radio channel and it does not allow anyone to see users or their call-signs without becoming a member. That's why this is a good secure channel for Hams on Zello. I personally don't recommend using Zello for non ham related channels / non-secure channels with your call-sign account. Make another account to surf the odd Zello channels. I would also not use my real name. On another note. What's hypocritical is, I'm anti-Spam Computer. I use DX Ham to help people into getting a real station and help them achieve that. I also use Zello to schedule QSO's which works great. But I also have some good friends that are handicapped and can't set up a real station. So Zello has it's benefits when used correctly.
P.S. I like your channel name change LOL
