If there is a series, I think it'd be neat for the followers to be talkative, and for the Lamb to either Not Speak, or Rarely speak.
That said, no matter what's decided on, the Lamb should absolutely be allowed Swear when they lose at Knucklebones.
It would be cool for the lamb to rarely speak, because it's probably pretty uncomfortable since the decapitation (just a headcannon 👀) who do you think would voice them btw? I think cg5 would be cool
hard pass on cg5. The man sounds autotuned without even trying, and his voice is unbearable. I say the same VA as the one from Doom and Shroom- it was pretty much perfect.@@Whiskers_da_kitten

Oh I YEARN for an animated series- what I would GIVE to see the world building of not just the Lamb's cult, but the other Bishops' respective Cults and Domains, and the side-stories of the other landmarks on the map; Sozo's frightening obsession with the spores, Ratau's fall from grace as the previous bearer of the red crown, Plimbo's smuggling business, the creature in the water- dude there's so many stories that could be told through a CotL animated series that I would DIE for

It was great!! The humor was fantastic and plays on game mechanics, the art style mirrors the original, and it was just to watch! It felt a lot like a 'Pilot Episode' with the way it ended, but I would honestly love to see where it ends up if they make more

What I love about Cult of the Lamb is that it isn't cute and scary, it's cute and unsettling, the thought of cult behavior in an artstyle that isn't too far off from Helly kitty gives me chills. There's so many directions an animated series for it can go.
Hopefully they don't tone down the unsettling parts.
Except the poop eating. They can get away with dropping that.

I love the subtle sound design of the lamb's bell ringing. Both in game and in the clips! It's so charming but also not distracting or overbearing

The fact that the animation style for this is almost indistinguishable from the Doom and Shroom MASHED cartoon is a testament to how good that video is. But this is also fantastic!
Late reply-- They actually HIRED THE ANIMATORS from that video, if I recall! I just watched that again last night, and folks were talking about it in those comments!
All I can picture with the animated series is like short episodes with different events that happen in the cult, including follower requests
But I also picture getting more lore about other characters like Midas, Ratau’s friends, the chubby cat, even the heretics before and after the incident with *The One Who Waits*
(Speaking of which, chubby cat, forgot the name, already has lore that you will learn from the stories the cat tells you and when you meet the people she talks about, her sons)

I would love more lore for Baal and Aym
I like the idea of the sheep being docile and kind before, and slowly becomes more evil as they fight and gain more and more followers, until they realize their lord and master is changing who they are.
The Lamb being both a cause of the cult's madness while also being susceptible to it? Sign me up!
That would be an excellent way to play it. If done properly, we shouldn't be able to guess whether or not they're going for the Spare or Murder ending right up until the last moment.

Honestly, I've been saying this since the game released, there's a lot if unspoken lore that can easily be expanded on, the absurdly adorable mix of violent and rich enthralling world design here is ripe for an animated series. It'll be a cult phenomenon!

An animated series? Yes! Especially if it's animated this well, and with this music. So good.
The problem I see with an animated series of Cult is that it could unintentionally ruin some aspects of the game if they aren't done well in the animation, take for example the injuries of the bishops from the one who waits, how are you going to convey those events since you're never supposed to see them happen in-game in animation form because that's no doubt something people are wondering about, why did this betrayal happen, what was it that Shamura do that lead the one who waits down that path, there's so many things that would NEED to be done correctly that if even one is done wrong it can throw the entire animation off.

If I were to see an animated series, I definitely want to see the following:
- A follower that wants to eat poop
- A moment where a follower wants to be imprisoned
- The wedding episode, where you get married to a follower (and your previous spouse being majorly jealous)
- The Outhouse incident where a follower takes so long it creates a long waiting line
- Confession Booth where a follower shares a TMI fact to you that you cannot recover from
- The Loyalty Enforcer ritual where a follower goes a bit too far (and almost behaves like an actual cult leader)
- A follow that you personally hate due to sloth stats but can't get rid of and lives the longest
- Offering Statue where a follower takes a whole day preparing the perfect gift that the Lamb just disregards in an instant and making the follower dissent/heart broken
- Life of a follower episode where we watch a follower deal with birds trying to steal seeds/crops
- A boss/mom episode where the Lamb literally prepares food for every follower and nurture sick ones (similar to those cat/dog videos where you prepare a plate for each of them since you always have to cook for them)
Or how about each episode based on some events of real cults from the past?

I would love to see an animated show for this game, but I don't want the animators to get overwhelmed, this amount of detail is probably a lot on these artists.

I get where you're coming from, but detail isn't exactly the issue here. Animators tend to get overwhelmed due to bad management and crazy time constraints, but given enough budget and time, as well as having a decent work ethic, wouldn't put that much strain on them. We can only hope.

My headcanon is that the Lamb is a very kind and moral person forced into servitude to a not-so-kind-or-moral god and deeply cares for his followers and secretly hates the god his cult worships, probably has a confidant within the cult that knows this and he vents his frustrations to them. His hatred grows every time he is forced to sacrifice one of his followers or commit an atrocity. A much more sympathetic version of the old cult-leader-who-doesn’t-believe-in-his-cult’s-faith trope. Though he also despised the Bishops and the Old Faith.

The bird is a Currawong (a pied currawong i believe) and it has my favourite bird calls. Beautiful birds too. Looks like a cross between a crow and a magpie

Think it would be pretty cool to have a CotL animated series, I guess I’m just kinda worried how you would portray a character who doesn’t usually speak, if that makes sense. But I would love to see a series that shows the lore of the world, maybe examining the history of the lands, the old gods, other spirits like the Fox, stuff like that. I would honestly love that! Maybe showing the lamb studying the land around them, kinda putting the story together before confronting Narindr, stuff like that. Just spitballing.

This trailer makes it look like it'd just be a retread of the game.
The game exists, and is more engaging than an animated series could be because it's interactive.
I think the series would only 'work' if it _wasn't_ just the game _again_ and had it's own story.
Set it after the events of the game and make it a morbid and unsettling slice of life show about running the Cult or something.
It has been many moons since this upload was made. Though the questions still remains. An animated series about this WOULD GO INSANE
I just got this game over the 2023 steam winter sale. I usually play fast pace DPS games, but this Cult of the Lamb has been such a nice change of pace. It's nice and relaxing and I'm absolutely hooked. I haven't even gone on that many missions lol I just want to take care of my village

I recently got into this game and honestly it’s one of the best games I’ve played. I’d love to see an animated series of this and the potential world building it could provide
Would love an animated series, Shadyvox was great as lamb!
If this ever ended up being an animated series, the lamb can't be the main character or it'll get stale really fast. Instead we have to follow precedingly more and more clever new characters who end up getting sacrificed at first, but eventually a turning point of intelligence is reached, and a whole new faction is made from escapees not connected to either of the cults. The Lamb needs to be the more threatening of two sides of antagonists, even if the seemingly less evil up until they join forces against the story's final boss.
Least, that's how I'd write it. The Lamb would play an active role in the story, the story just wouldn't FOLLOW the lamb.

I know this is going to sound controversial, but I actually don't want an animated series of this. The reason being that the choice of whether the cult is an oppressive hellhole, or a family friendly paradise is left up to the player. An animated series would require a fixed decision, and it would step on the toes of some of the players if too many consider the series "cannon".

What I want to say is that this game is cool, I completed it so far, two houses But the game itself is worthy of a sequel. The combat is top notch, the music is generally a blast, I downloaded a whole album with music, but the theme of the Leshy will be remembered forever.And so the game is good. Thanks to the developers for the cool action adventure. And yes, I’m from the Russian Federation and here the game is available on Steam and I plan to save it in digital form.
I’ve played a lot of games, and I’ve watched a lot of anime, but the voice acting in this game is top tier, you can feel the emotion really understand what the characters are trying to tell you.
