The Browns and Watson reminds of the situation in Washington when we had Chase Young. It was perplexing that it seemed like our defense played BETTER without Young on the field. As soon as he would return from injury, the defense would take a step back. It made it seem like the players did not like Young for whatever reasons and it seems to me like the Browns are the same way with Watson. Overpaid, overhyped, creates resentment in the locker room. I don't think their situation is bad (barring a QB injury) since they were not expected to be good this year, nor are they desperate since this is their first season with a new QB, but I team I would be watching as this year goes on is the Commanders. In spite of a Head Coach signing of Dan Quinn, their defense is absolutely awful which got frankly lit up by both the Buccs (who are good at least) and allowed the Giants to score 3 TDs on them in their stadium. If Graham Gano didn't get injured, the Commanders would have been forced into OT by one of the worst teams in the NFL of this year.
Now, the defense was bad last year, but that should be developed in the Draft by a defensive minded head coach, right? About that, lets look at the defensive rookies. Only one is starting of the two second round picks that they used on their defense. Jer'Zhan Newton is sitting behind Jonathan Allen who is frankly having a slow start to the season, but at least that's a good excuse to be a backup. Mike Sainristil, however, is the lone starter and is having a bad start to the season, allowing 6 receptions out of 7 times the guy he was covering was targeted, 3 of which were for TDs. Now I cannot watch tape, so if you or another viewer takes a look at him (he's #0) and tells me the TDs weren't his fault I'd appreciate it but the stat sheet looks just as bad as the start of Emmanuel Forbes season. And it should be Dan Quinn's job to ensure these rookies are NFL ready.

I think it's safe to say Trevor Lawrence might be a bust. 4 years into his NFL career and I just don't see the same Trevor we saw at Clemson.

As a jags fan he has not lived up to the hype but I think if we fire press Taylor then I think he can finally reach his potential

Hutchinson is one of the most overrated players in the league. For the next month he's not gonna do anything. If you look up inconsistent in the dictionary, his photo is the definition

I disagree on Calvin Ridley, he had a better QB in Lawrence and didn't do much in Jax. Levis isn't going to elevate him at all. Mid WR at best.

I think Ridley will elevate Levis more. The Jags have a nice receiving core and Lawrence tends to spread the ball around. Ridley will easily be the main focus, even when Hopkins comes back
