I have never been motorcycle only it is an extra for the joy and bliss factor. Those who insist on motorcycle everything have some loose screws with a few exceptions. Rich and chris of 2 wheels big life are living on their bikes traveling the country but they have transitioned into a trailer pop up tent that rich tows behind his harley. That is a retirement adventure they enjoying while their bodies still allow. Peace love and light. Oh yrah now along with my lowrider bad iac my vmax has a fork issue so stuck riding my 86t triumph america but laat 3 days were nice enough for decent rides

Hello fellow Alabamian. South side Mobile here. I got a truck and my wife use to have a Highlander(We wrecked it). She now uses my truck, and if I need to go anywhere I ride my little 300cc bike, or little scooter. I have many option of transportation. I love riding my motorcycle. I hope someday to upgrade it to a Yamaha MT07, but for now I'm riding a Honda cb300f, and for work a KYMCO Like 150i. That thing is a hoot to ride.

Fortunately, the weather where you are makes riding possible year-round. Although, there is a lot of rain in Alabama.

Hey jeff...from fontana ca....by the way I'm OSCAR..sadly but true sometimes u gotta make tuff decisions in life such as selling your bike..been there but I was fortunate that I would sell the second bike. It is always good dou to have a truck once your married why cause it will become handy like hauling lumber or big items such as a fridge, ect. For instance my wife drives a 2017 honda crv and I have a dodge truck and my daughter drives a 07 pt cruiser for now. And I have a 02 chevy camaro as a back up..and off course my 2020 mighty vmax..its hard dou when u just have a motorcycle for the only means of transportation like on RAINY DAYS especially or it breaks down its hard. Ive been riding for 39 years and been blessed that all these years i have always had a bike or two. Have a great day jeff👍

Thanks for watching and sharing. Yes, the rainy days on a bike are the worst.

Hello Jeff! Talking about the USAF in the 80's sure brings back some memories for me. I was in 81-86, both stateside and England. I bought my share of stereo equipment too while at RAF Alconbury. Looking at your stereo, it looks like you had some Yamaha power amps. I had the M-80 Series and still have it! Just before getting out in 1986, I was in SC at Shaw AFB, I bought a Honda VT1100 Shadow from a Honda Dealer in Florence, SC. That bike was so smooth and had so much power w/ shaft drive, I became a fan of the shaft drive from that day forward. I commuted between Sumter, SC & Charlotte, NC where my family lived. What a great ride to go see my folks. Always enjoy your posts! When I can't ride my 2015 V-Max, it's the next best thing to see & hear you twisting the throttle!

Thanks for sharing. I'm glad you enjoy the videos. Since the 1980s, I've been sold on the shaft drive as well, as mentioned in another one of my videos. My power amps were Kenwood. I do currently have a Yamaha receiver.

Jeff, the best of times for me were having a house paid off, 3 cars paid off, kids either out of college or 1 left and all college paid for and buying my 05 Max for cash new., and a large paid off life insurance policy:). This gave me the option to ride when I felt like it or not to ride, and then I bought my cargo trailer for hauling the MAX and it got to be even more fun. With the economy today and the price of new bikes and insurance, gas etc.,,you really need to be well established to really enjoy the riding experience. This is why I think motorcycle sales over all are tanking, too much cost of ownership, and way too much economic insecurity, and us with the money to buy are just getting older and older. Like I want the new 2022 YAMA MT10 SP but at close to $20,000 out the door the way I would want it, and the yearly cost of ownership, and at 71yo, and the chance of a wipe out and major injury, which is always possible, does it really make any sense,,I don't know..............................

Hey Jay. Yes, the option to ride when we feel like it is key. Good luck with whatever you decide with respect to the new MT10. It is a painful reality that as we age, we have to consider how much more serious a fall would be compared to when we first started riding. 🙁

You could have just a bicycle, which is what I am going through. I am looking forward to having a regular vehicle to travel again.
