Personally I think a mix of Waterworks and Zigazag is better than Wintertusk Crafted but the hats are definitely worth using for the blade if you don’t have a pet that gives one.
Lvl 100 with Darkmoor has a bit more ya, incredible robe, boots, hat, athame, amulet, as well as first school shadow hit which is really powerful for a lot of schools
Can you PLEASE cover the House of Scales Robes and why they're so worth the struggle? Mass prism item cards that early as well as a 4 pip mana burn for balance pvp is straight gas.
Level 56-60 are definitely really important moments in Wiz to upgrade your character. The gear is almost essential to have a smooth and enjoyable experience leveling from 60-100. Back a couple years, I remembered struggling to find which was better between the Wintertusk (WT) and Waterworks (WW) gear. Honestly, both sets are fantastic so any player could choose to go for either. WT gear is more accessible and easier to obtain for players that aren’t a fan of farming endlessly for WW gear, however it requires you to be a grandmaster- crafter (which isn’t too hard to achieve). WW gear gives slight advantages by giving you more overall stat-points over WT gear, making you a bit stronger and also making you look cool since WW gear is pretty fashionable. As for level 100+ it’s basically ESSENTIAL to do Darkmoor for gear. By the time you reach level 100, you’ll be tired of using WW or WT gear and enemies are becoming to strong, and will have a lot more health so you’ll need a significant amount of extra damage that Darkmoor gear provides. Not only is Darkmoor gear very important for the next 40 levels of the game, but it also grants many schools each with a brand new powerful spell card. Almost any gear obtained from Darkmoor is decent enough but if we’re being honest it’s highly preferred to go for the best tier drops from Malistaire. His Tier 1 gear is extremely powerful and serves as a direct upgrade to anything you’ve probably been using. One of the most annoying things about Darkmoor is that there is no alternative gear that can be crafted similar to WT gear, which means you MUST farm it and farming can take a long while especially in Darkmoor. Choosing not to farm for Darkmoor gear is a serious hamper as the bosses in the later worlds will have way more apparent cheats, stronger spells, and one shot mechanics that require a powerful team of Wizards equipped with good gear. Overall, level 56-60 and 100+ are the most game changing moments of a wiz players’ time.
THANK YOU for covering this! Barely anyone knows about these! I was able to reach 110 damage on my level 70 storm because of the athame and ring a long time ago; the stat boosts are AMAZING! I have them on all of my wizards and used them til level 90 when they were inevitably replaced by the Alpha & Omega ring and Blade of the Felled Titan.
Wintertusk gear is arguably better than waterworks gear because you get an extra blade from your hat. If you don’t have a sharpened blade pet I would recommend you use wintertusk hat until 86
This was the most fun level range for me in wiz. You get op level 58 bazaar gear and I was so excited to learn snow angel. As well as criticalling and even critical healing as well as damage enchants and astral schools. Celestia and winter tusk are the best levels in wiz

I don’t think any level is the most important I think there are a bunch of levels that give some awesome gear and you don’t need to pick one specifically
Way better is not accurate at all. Obviously if you want the best stats, yes you can go for the gear. But the differences are rather negligible. For example, the storm WT crafted gives 26% damage and 40 crit, while the zigazag gives 28% damage and 51 crit. The major difference between the two is 5% resist, but as I said, its only minor differences.

My fire at level 56 had 102 damage without any waterworks gear. I had the damage mount and also the quint damage pet and mighty

Story wise, level 50-56 is impactful cause you meet grandmother raven for the first time in Wintertusk.

The bear in handle fjord gives good ring and athames are good too. Can be bought for gold. Only need to be level 50

At level 56, the bazar sells the bear claw ring and amulet and i believe there better than the craft able ones in wintertusk
I would also add pierce amulet (you get it in Austrilund I think)
Level 2 because you get pixie and that spell heals for all of your health at that point
