    I got the 2017 Road King Special a couple of months back. There are some serious differences between that and the standard one. Plus I did the stage I upgrade. For a big cruiser...It simply ROCKS!
    Great video once again my friend! Ride safe and Rock ON!!!

    I put 1400 miles on a 2017 RK last December. Mostly loved it, and I'm not a cruiser guy usually

    I noticed the front end wants you dip also. It's very frustrating. Engineers missed that big time!! Great video mate!!

    I found the Road King to be top heavy. I just traded mine in for a Street Glide which feels much more balanced. The Road King I bought new in 2012 so has the twin cam 103 the Street Glide has the M8 (molar motor). I rode most of the time without the wind shield. Most of the comments you made were the same for my twin cam Road King but are different for my Street Glide so the issues you raised seem to be "Road King" issues . I never felt completely in control on the Road King in comparison to the Street Glide where I feel totally in control. Strange that.....

    I think it's the rake causing it to want to turn in. Big bike doesn't have to be slow to turn in.

    if you get a chance to look at the triple trees again take notice of where the fork legs are compared to the pivet point. that'll explain the turn in effect you're feeling

    Oh come on... the 107 had plenty of torque throughout the gears. I was amazed taking it on the highway how quickly it gets up to speed. Smooth and solid too, the 103 and 107 are just different engines and of course they feel different too. If you want to save some bucks, buy a twin cam road king, if you want the newer engine yet same bike overall, get the m8. The 107 is more then enough for the average rider.

    Gonna be looking at getting a HD next year sometime not sure what to get, either the 48 or streetbob, people say that once you have owned a sportster for sometime you end up wanting a bigger HD like a dyna ect. whats your thoughts on this bro? are you enjoying your 48 still?

    • @davidjames3985
      @davidjames3985 7 лет назад +2

      no point on getting the street bob at this point, they will probably put the HO 103 in there any time soon(just like the others). But yes, if you can get a Dyna and skip the sportser, do it, sportsters are cool and all but if you stay in a sportster you probably end up spending more money to biff it up, so just get a dyna and keep it stock for a big while It´ll make you happy alot more time

    Your countryside was scary. I kept thinking an animal or big foot was about to jump out at you!

    The dual breaking system is an optional upgrade.

    The braking system needs to be stepped up by Harley? They are four piston brembos dude.

  • @single55

    The acceleration is much better on the right side of the road not to left.

  • @TimCausleyhorsemanship

    You certainly have trail braking wrong and corner entering-not back brake

  • @Billimus1
    @Billimus1 7 лет назад

    The brakes issue is HD biggest downside. With each model of bike they make each one caters to a different rider. I love to Sportster but they isn't most Harley riders.

      mikey IS IT I know they look like old people bikes but they are really nice actually. I'm 28 and I bought one 100th anniversary road king to match my Harley truck. Also my girlfriend loves to ride in it.

    Good review but don't think riding in short sleeves is setting a good example I know the weather is nice in the video but the tarmac will still take your skin off all the same if the worst was to happen

    • @cheatdeathproc
      @cheatdeathproc 7 лет назад +7

      Lol. There is always one. Firstly, I'm sure he knows what the tarmac will do to his skin should the two come into contact at speed and force. Secondly, why does he even have to set an example? If someone watches this video (and it's not compulsory to watch it) and feels inspired to ride in short sleeves because they've seen it here then they shouldn't be on a bike in the first place.

    reviewers should always give their height and weight, so the viewer can be a little more relatable.

    Compared to the Indian Springfield, the RK is dull and uninspiring.
