Not sure if you’re still looking to add things but if you are-one thing that has been used against me (T’au and Custodes) several times to OBNOXIOUSLY good effects is the melee gaunts with their big “spawning monster” following them around. (Is that the Termigon? I can never remember, sorry) For Custodes, parking them right in front of my models (but outside of engagement range) so I either have to go around them or else give up moving a unit is really strong; for Tau, the gaunts are such big units that they can daisy chain a charge into all sorts of things I want to be free to shoot whatever they like. Looking great so far though!!
Have you thought about venomthropes? If you’re running that many gaunts regularly being able to run 2 groups of 3 venomthropes to provide stealth and cover could help. Plus they’re not terrible once they get into melee. If you really decide you like them, there is the malanthrope that can lead them, buffing the radius and making them a very serious melee threat with keywords stacked on them.
I'm super impressed you've got so far with the New Year, New Army. I'm still struggling through last years new army, so this years is largely in pieces.
Looks fantastic! I'm amazed how how quickly you are able to work. I came back to 40k at the start of the year and still don't have all my Leviathan nids assembled, much less painted.

Gotta say, much like Necrons from the last 2 editions, this edition is definitely that one moment for the next 15 or so years where getting a freshly updated Nids army/collection is prime time for choosing now. Im still considering picking them up even as someone who isnt in to them currently. WIth the amazing discount boxes and continual box sets for them throughout 10th ed you gotta capitalize on a "what if " scenario if you get into them or not. Even if you dont you have a great investment for 11th ed when all those models jump back up in price like Necrons did on the second hand market

Hell, during 9th ed I was still working on all of the releases from 8th edition, including the 2 new models, and 4 different box sets I managed to get ahold of before 9th edition started. Unfortunately my 2 biggest issues in the hobby are a double whammy when it comes to finishing armies and thats being a slow painter mixed with not turning down a nice discount box of plastic crack lol
While its fun to start different projects, there's something special to building up a truly complete army that is all matching and painted, and then adding some more to it. Your army is fantastic and it shows that you've put a lot of passion into it! Keep up the good work Ben.

Im really considering getting into 40k. Hovering between Necrons or Tyranids, this video more or less made me drive to my local gameshop to pick up Tyranids, i love how grungy and organic you got them to look.. oh wallet, why are you so empty, oh 40K why are you so expensive :D

@@morewarhammer the easy suggestion is to ask for a battle report or a recorded game. A more out there idea would maybe to do some community list building with people suggesting some combos and lists with explanation this could help find some fun combos, that or something like a Box to game showing the journey of a model from fresh from the sprue to getting it game ready for its 1st game and your experience with that model this could be an interesting insight to see a journey of the hobby so many people take but its also a part of the hobby that we don't really see documented that often so it could be a fun experience.

I've just gone back to playing my Tyranids and I really do need some hard hitters. My favourate detachment is Vanguard Onslaught because it does what I think Tyranids should as an army.
I love the army, love that scheme and i love how easy they are to magnatise. My favourite unit is the swarmlord (who was just buffed) he is just such a cool unit to have for utility and some decent damage aswell. Biovore and ripper swarms are great for secondaries for secondaries. Like you pointed out we are a weak army so we do most of our scoring through secondaries. Pyrovores are good screeners but imo a better screener is the Neurotyrant. Hes never really let me down. I hope you have as much fun with this army as I do ^_^ ps. Assimilation swarm is super fun but wouldnt recommend it because of the lack of units that fit aswell as the fact an "optimal" list is basically 9 pyrovores which is VERY expensive.
I'm not a player yet, but a couple of friends and I are getting armies (leaning towards tao), and your videos have proven quite informative and helpful. Keep it up thank you
If you dont plan on playing in tournaments some of the forgeworld legends models are nice too, the Malanthrope is a great leader unit for Venomthropes, and the Dimachaeron is just a cool looking model with a nice self heal ability when it kills a model
I was disappointed when this didn’t become a more regular series. Seeing all the models painted up it feels like this series was just an afterthought after such a strong start

Some thematic exploration of your battleforce. It seemed like such a cool idea in the first video. I watched both halves of that first video and it was the first time I’d seen you. Subscribed just off that vid and it just feels like it got forgotten about. Not that you owe it to me as some random viewer but I think you’ve almost done yourself a disservice because you really had something with that first video.

@@morewarhammer dark angels are a very cool legion but I'm converting them into a salamanders I have been uming and erming which combat patrol box would work best for starting salamanders when the new dark angels box came out i was like perfect.
More Tyrannofex’s with rupture cannons. They’re amazing. I’ll have to tell you an over watch story with my tyrannofex vs a monster killing ork one time
@@morewarhammer back in 8th my buddy had a crazy ork boss on bike which in the charge with the right strats would kill any monster. My back line of 2 fex’s and an exo was causing him issues so he charges one of my fex’s with rupture cannon. This thing dies if it’s hit. I roll my 2 shots on over watch double 6. 3+ to wound easily done. Roll 9 damage he failed every invul save. I wipe out this monster killer and somehow the game swings in my favour

Thank you very much. I have been running the vanguard detachment for my 1k games and I have played tau (lost), necrons (Won) & black legion (won). I do think we need a slight str boost as we are wounding most big units in 5+.

I would do tank personally. Lots of fun to paint a vehicle. If you haven’t seen my video on how I painted my dreadnaught I would take a look. It’s made painting larger models so much better and enjoyable for me.

The T-Fex is such a good model to have on the battle field. Hits on a 2+ if it doesn't move and can one shot tanks and dreads. My mate hates it lol

Really enjoying this series I've recently gotten back into Warhammer I'm getting the dark angels combat patrol box with the salamander upgrade sprues. My son is also starting a black templars army

@@morewarhammer dark angels are a very cool legion but I'm converting them into a salamanders I have been uming and erming which combat patrol box would work best for starting salamanders when the new dark angels box came out i was like perfect.
Yea my son is very much looking forward to his first army arriving he already has a 2000 point plan for his army lol

More Tyrannofex’s with rupture cannons. They’re amazing. I’ll have to tell you an over watch story with my tyrannofex vs a monster killing ork one time

@@morewarhammer back in 8th my buddy had a crazy ork boss on bike which in the charge with the right strats would kill any monster. My back line of 2 fex’s and an exo was causing him issues so he charges one of my fex’s with rupture cannon. This thing dies if it’s hit. I roll my 2 shots on over watch double 6. 3+ to wound easily done. Roll 9 damage he failed every invul save. I wipe out this monster killer and somehow the game swings in my favour

Really like your tyranid scheme! How do you feel tyranids are in strength against other factions? I’ve been struggling against the stronger factions for the last couple of weeks!
Thank you very much. I have been running the vanguard detachment for my 1k games and I have played tau (lost), necrons (Won) & black legion (won). I do think we need a slight str boost as we are wounding most big units in 5+.
@@morewarhammer yeah I agree our big bugs just aren’t tearing through tanks well enough! The vanguard lists look really fun but I need more Lictor units to play that!

Trying to figure out what the next unit is that I want to add to my Blood Angels. The new scouts look very tempting or do I finally crack and get one of the primaris tanks?
I would do tank personally. Lots of fun to paint a vehicle. If you haven’t seen my video on how I painted my dreadnaught I would take a look. It’s made painting larger models so much better and enjoyable for me.
