    The idea of a pot filler in the butler’s pantry for my coffee sounds more like something I’d definitely do.

      I couldn't believe it when I saw that the first time! People are so creative.

    Those double sliding doors are everything. So beautiful!! I’d pay extra for that.

      I absolutely would too, such a great way to bring in that extra natural light!

    Pot filler in the butler's pantry is a great idea (wish we had added a butler's pantry now ☺). Our new build is going to have two dishwashers - one upstairs in the kitchen and one in my basement "mancave" ... we definitely added the mudroom with the built-in added - one item we did not add was that standard, square-boxed type of a fireplace the builder offered - we wanted a more modern linear fireplace - which we are going to do after the build ... congrats on finally getting a closing date .. looking forward to your move-in and of course the "Empty House Tour" video!

      I'm so sad I didn't think of it earlier! That would get used literally every day in our house. That's great that you added a second dishwasher and built-in, they add so much and will absolutely be useful. It sounds like your home is coming along, I hope you get in soon and that everything goes smoothly!
      Yes definitely stay tuned for that! It's so close and still seems so far away at the same time.

    Pot fillers always end up leaking … so cost of ownership is a lot more than the initial cost of install. Plus you’re putting something that leaks over one of the most expensive things in your home, so cost of ownership may include replacing your range.

      I didn't even think about what happens if/when they leak! That sounds so incredibly expensive to fix, wow great point!

      Yes so I watched another video about trends not to do and pot fillers was one of them because they leak. Ice makers leak as well, the contractor said 2 out of 10 that he installs will leak.
      Oh and the pot fillers get gunked up with grease. They are hard to clean.

    Hi Nicole! Three months into our Florida build...next week is HVAC fans and flashing...and pre drywall is in March. Hope it's complete by June because we are booking movers. The only option in this list we got is walk in pantry.

    I wish I had put the pot filler in our new build butler's pantry. We did create a very large walk in pantry for our home though. Looking forward to seeing it in person in a couple more months.

      @@nicolenieves Thanks. It is the second home I designed (which is why I am kicking myself for failing to put in a sink in the butler's pantry) to have been built. And the first one we get to live in.

    The big sliding glass doors are awesome but they are expensive. We have 2 sets of quads instead of 4 sets of regular sliders in our new place. The back of our house is an open living/dining room space that is 35ft long. The quad sliders are just like the ones you showed - open in the middle out toward the ends. They'll lead out to the deck overlooking the lake. We decided they were worth another 14 grand to create that statement wall of glass and ability to open wide to the outside. They're 8ft tall as well But yeah, pricey.
    The all glass folding wall option? That was another 25K on top. That seemed like too much...money & exposure 🙂

    • @nicolenieves
      @nicolenieves  2 года назад

      Oh wow that is expensive! Good to know though, I hadn't seen any pricing on them yet. And yeah that folding wall option is CRAZY expensive! I'd consider the larger glass door option that you have (I bet they are gorgeous) but I don't think I could justify $25k

    • @jimhatch5873
      @jimhatch5873 2 года назад +1

      @@nicolenieves We couldn't either - that was *another* 25K on top of the 14K that was added to get the quad glass doors, on top of the 10K for the 4 traditional slider option...so almost 50K for a sliding glass wall. Looks nice but. It was one of those conversations..."it's 10K for the sliders"..."how much more for the quad option where the two inner panels open outward?"..."oh that's another 14K"..."so 24K for quads?"..."yep....and another 25 if you want an accordion glass wall....plus installation"..... !eeek!
