I have been a security guard in california for 35 years. Working for a national firm, what do i think of sunset? Just anouther fly by night agency destined for bankruptcy. I know my company would fire that psycho in an instent. i dont even get this, california does manditory training in powers to arrested. That guy violated every law in regards to this, he never identified as a security guard. And detaind someone while armed... in california if someone percieves a security gaurd is detaining them, it falls on the gaurd to aviod giving that impression. An armed gard blocking someones way, and threatoning deadly force i believe is a felony.
The most aggressive i ever have ever getton, has been to piont out that the property is posted, that way is the property line. you have a tresspass warning, if you refuse to leave, i will be forced to let the police handel it.
Truth is, the auditor in this has grounds for a lawsuit based on the vidio, and should persue it, because its open an open and shut case.

I worked with a guy offshore who impersonated police on his time home. He was found out and agents served warrants on his home while he was offshore. He hanged himself in the compressor building rather than face the charges for his behavior.

Although we cannot discuss detailed employment information, this former employee separated from our company over 1 year ago when this event transpired. This event occurred over 1 year ago, and is not recent.
Sunset Safety Agency has since then adopted an even more comprehensive pre-employment screening, including additional 3rd party background checks, driving record checks, drug screening, standard oral panel interview questions, and reference checks.
We understand how this event may have upset people, as it also upset and disappointed us when we were made aware of it over a year ago.
We strive to follow all rules, regulations, and laws both local, statewide, and federal.
Employees are trained to be a “visual-deterrent” and “observe and report” never expected to go hands-on or effect a private persons arrest.

You allowed your employee to dress up like the police, no doubt to be a "visual-deterrent", but it seems that you don't get that in doing that the public can be fooled into thinking that your employee is actually a police officer, so that tends to indicate that you are part of it, doesn't it?

It's obvious the host/narrator not only dislikes cop impersonators but the real cops too.. I don't think the majority of citizens feel that way, thankfully. I think most of us are grateful to have the police, and that most of them are hard working, honest people, that are doing their jobs on behalf of the citizens. In my mind, the security guard who is "impersonating a police officer," wasn't trying very hard. He did not even have a police association patch on his sleeve. It clearly says that he is with a security company, not a law enforcement agency. The guy was nutty for sure, but he didn't even appear to be trying to present himself as law enforcement, or did I miss something?
