  • In this episode of the Rox Lyfe podcast, I got to chat with Pelayo Menendez (@pelayofelechosa on Instagram). Pelayo has only been racing in HYROX for a year but in that time has come a long way. In his first Pro race he had a 10 mins sled pull, and a 7 mins wall balls, and finished in 70mins, but in the most recent Major race in Vienna he finished second in a time of 56:59, qualifying him for the Elite race at the 2024 World Championships. He also holds the Men’s Open doubles WR (in a time of 48:36) and is part of the Men’s relay WR holding team too. In this chat we talk about his background, his race tactics, his training, his running and strength numbers and lots more. Pelayo is a great guy, and a great athlete. I love chatting with him and I really hope you enjoy it too.

Thanks for these Greg, again great podcast,,, an interesting bit of trivia, I've just done Hyrox Incheon, and the run was clockwise. Wonder if that was the only one, all others l've seen are anticlockwise?

Thank you! Ah I hope Incheon went well. It is pretty rare, but its definitely not the first one, it has happened a couple of times before (though I cant remember off the top of my head where it was - pretty sure not in the UK though). No idea for the reason they sometimes do it!
