Carrie I’m so impressed with your little greenhouse. What a great way to get things going. I bought everything I need to start the micro greens tomorrow. Fingers crossed. Your garden is beautiful. Can’t wait to see what you are going to grow. You have a great attitude regarding your homestead. I agree and I’m going to do the same thing. Blessings from KY
I'm doing many of the same things you are, so it's fun to watch your progress. Sourdough, microgreens for humans and chickens (dogs get broccoli sprouts), prepping for gardens season with an indoor greenhouse, crochet. I just love being at home now at the age of 52. I used to be green with envy when I would see everyone around me vacationing all the time. Not anymore. Actually, I think they live for those vacations and are mostly not content with their day to day home life. We get to enjoy ALL of our days doing what we love to do. Blessings from Pennsylvania.
This is EXACTLY how I feel. The worldly things like cruises and such don't appeal to me anymore. I have peace and serenity in this place. Thank you for sharing, you just showed me I'm not strange after all. Big hugs
Hi Carie💖 One seed makes a beautiful plant 🌱. Our compost is clean and we know there are no chemicals in it. The black cloud doesn’t have to be in our own homes. Your rooster lets us know what is important. In the words of Dorothy “ there is no place like home”. ☮️💟🖖CC
I have to say, I like the smaller trays for our needs. Unfortunately, I can't find them. Your garden is coming together and looks so nice. We are still in winter, so seeing things sprouting right now seems so odd and hopeful!
The smaller one would fit in a kitchen bay window. Your garden is great. I'm sure it takes a lot of work, but it's worth it. You're getting eggs, I think. I hear your hens.
Oopsie! Micro green trays, literally lol (cuz they're small and green) Excited for your rehab/expansion. I'll be doing the same perhaps starting next month (weather pending). I did get outside today! It was actually above freezing. Gardening / homesteading is always worth it! Work yes, but the payouts are pricless! Stress does a person no good. Trust God, enjoy the life he has given you... the small moments.
Usually those are sprouter trays and havent really tried making microgreens from them. Could dampen the roots to much do watering would have to be monitored.
Carrie, I can’t remember, but last year before you filled your beds with soil , did you add a filler like limbs to take up some space or did you just use all soil ? Also, did you put your beds directly on the ground or did you put any kind of liner and lay the beds on top ? Thanks

I love having like minded folks to communicate with. We can all do this together ❤️. Hugs
Lol that’s funny 😊 I do that kind of thing all the time! The simple things in life bring peace.
Lol, I don't feel so bad now

What about the micro greens trays that don’t require dirt?? What are your thoughts on those??

Straight on the ground no liners, yes I did a layer of old wood and limbs laying around the yard. Then filled the beds with soils.
