  • In this video Osteopath Jamie Archer from THE APPLIEDTECHNIQUE HUB explains the anatomy of the foot in particular the cuboid articulations. He then demonstrates adjustment and contact points for the cuboid bone in relation to the locomotor chain and disfunctions.
    There are 26 bones in the foot and 33 joints. When joints don't move properly (fixated) the muscles fire improperly, the joints may suffer abnormal wear and tear, and Morton's Neuroma, Plantar Fasciitis, bone/heel spurs may occur. Spinal, knee and hip issues may also occur when the biomechanics of the feet are dysfunctional.
    This content is created for informational purposes only and not intended to substitute for osteopathic/medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. The techniques performed in this video should only be carried out by a registered healthcare professional trained in manipulation

    Thank you so much for this video!!! Saved my Christmas! Woke up Xmas morning & couldn’t put any pressure on that foot AT ALL!!! After watching this video one time my 16 year old son was able to follow your instructions exactly!! Amazing! 🙏 Not sure why everyone is saying this looks painful unless they have not ever been to a chiropractor before. Maybe it helped that we’ve both seen a Myopractor for the last 5 years so the motion, pressure and overall ‘feel’ was familiar. No pain... just relief!

    Does anyone else’s tarsometatarsal joint pop? Often? 7 years ago or so my right ankle popped, then ever few months my tarsom joint would pop on my 2nd to left toe. recently this past month the tarasom joint has been popping a couple times a day. Literally went from a couple times a a year to a couple times a day overnight. I remember feeling really tight the first morning I started noticing it, then I loosened up but the foot popping stayed. I can twist my ankle and it pops then I bend my foot and the tarasom joust pops, only in my right foot too, only on my 2nd to left toe.

    Hi, I'm a 800m runner and I have the middle part of my foot slightly bending and a bone is starting to stick out which seems to be a cuboid. It really hurts after running and I would like to ask you for what sort of treatment I should get for it?
    Thanks :)

    • @theappliedtechniquehub
      @theappliedtechniquehub  4 года назад +2

      Thanks for watching the video.....always difficult to give specific advice without physically assessing. If things hurt after running but you can run on it..it is often due to inflammation building....this is always difficult for athletes because if they can run they will run.......seeing a good manual therapist for examination and assessment of the whole loco motor chain is recommended and treatment will often consist of hands on manipulation ( not just exercise / electrotherapy) ....however active rest is also advised.....don't keep going and letting things get worse.....try different surfaces..stay off the track for a few weeks and tarmac...try trails or grass....do not put your spikes on for a few weeks.....warm up and train on the track in the opposite direction ....use cryotherapy to control the inflammation .....tissues take time to heal....so don't expect a quick fix.......hope that helps......

      To be honest with you if formed mainly on the road due to the track being closed and now I've just returned to the track and the bump is still there but much much less pain if not anything at all.
      Should be checking it out soon tho in 2 weeks, thank you very much for your advice and I will continue taking it easy till then!

    I have kind of a weird question. I thought it was my cuboid but apparently not. Ofc my toes can be popped/cracked but I also pop my arch and I can't find that anywhere online. It's just weird, my doctor told me that I have high arches and since I didn't and don't have supports yet that my arches would fall/flatten. So after a long day of walking if I press my thumb into my arch and use my fingers to gently bend the tip of my foot down something deep in my arch pops and it feels good. It feels like my arch is being popped back into place after falling flat but what is actually popping?
