I jumped from a bridge when I was as old as you, Emma. Seventheen. Laying down there, not being able to move was the worst experience of my young life. Six months I could not leave the hospital. When I got out my best friend died from an accident, he was my source of strength. Of course I ask myself if me surving was the reason that he passed, cause death felt betrayed. I do not know, but my reason to smile and hope is to live my life for him and hopefully one day, I will live it for myself! I will never forget him and the hard lections I learnt. Far more than responsibility for my own actions and decisions, but to keep my head up high. It is all we can do, take the second chance, Emma. I can walk again even if it is supported and I was overjoyed seeing you stand again on your feet! I believe in miracles now and you are one!
I tried suicide by slicing my wrist and it paralyzed all the intricate muscles to my fingers and thumb. Had to have a few reconstructive surgeries to get my hand operational. I tried suicide twice with over 100 lorotab 60+ Xanax bars lots of alcohol and somas. First time I was found not breathing in my truck and my heart had stopped. Second time I did it in my truck again and I remember seeing my grandfather driving me to hospital, but he died 12 years prior. I don't know how I got there but I was placed on breathing machine and had tubes all in me for a while. I went to mental hospital for time and I've been recovering. From one person to the next I have depression and anxiety issues and I still see the pain in your eyes, I see what u think. Please keep strong, your story keeps me strong. You are very and I mean extremely beautiful, smart and sweet. You are changing lives and it helped me. I was starting to think suicide again and I stumbled across this video. I can't ever go through it again, I don't want to hurt my family and I'm scared of what I might miss out on in life and what's after this life. Thanku for making the video

Please, anyone struggling with suicidal thoughts, get help. I committed suicide in college after being raped. I was dead for 2 minutes, and witnessed the God I worship on Sundays. I remember crying to him as I was dead, asking, pleading for a second chance. I came back. I've never seen my father so terrified as when I was going in and out of consiuness in the ICU. His face was so full of fear. I thought I was doing everyone a favor, because I have alot of mental and neurological disabilities. But I hurt the ones I loved. My whole family was so upset. Please get help if you are suicidal. Don't commit suicide, it will break the hearts of lots of people. You will be missed. Please get help. Don't do what I did. To this young girl, thanks for sharing your story. You are brave. You are beautiful. And someone will definitely marry you.

When she said that she heard her dog crying and barking after her suicide attempt I started crying . When you feel so terrible by contemplating suicide you don' t think in that moment how everyone who loves you will miss you when you will be gone:(((.And there are so many. I can understand pain of anxiety, panic attacks ,and depression because I had all of those while I was student,you just feel so terrible. It doesn' t matter how everything is perfect in your life ,how beautiful or successfull you are, it takes complete control over your life. In my experience,I think there was a reason why I had anxiety and panic attacks. I was extrovert in that time ,I didn' t looked inside ,of who I really am. So when I started to be creative ( It was great advice of my fathers friend who is psychiatrics)and became introvert ,did a lot of soul searching my panic attacks were completely gone. Now I think that panic attacks and anxiety was like a sign that I have to change my life and that It was going in wrong direction. I had to find real person behind all the masks I was wearing to be accepted by this society. So ,advice I could give to anyone suffering from this condition is to be patient with all mental and physical pain because It will pass,try not to take any drugs but to look how to change your life to become who you really are .I guess sometimes we just have to walk alone through darkness to find light.
I've attempted numerous times, cries for help from mind~altering exasperating and relentless ongoing depression, no help came. I've learned to live with treatment-resistant depression, sometimes one second at a time. S.A.D. during the winter months makes my life a living hell on earth. I pray (to whom?) daily for release from this torment and awful mind~blowing pain. None ever comes.
Unless one has experienced what it is like to live each day, almost nearly every waking moment with T.R.D. and S.A.D., no one can appreciate this debilitating and mind~bending mental and physical turmoil and pain I and others like me are forced to daily suffer.
I'd often thought of using a gun but I figured that I would live and doubtful I would be an advocate for suicide prevention like this girl, no. I applaud Emma's courage to step out of the shadows of depression and try and help others with her story. Way to go, Emma. Not all suicide attempt survivors are alike.
We are all different in our reasons for wanting to leave this earth. In my personal case, I come from extreme childhood abuse, torture, and trauma. A father who was extremely mentally ill and did things that were perverse that I'd witnessed. I've had therapy, but nothing helped.
So, each day is a living hell on earth. If there is a heaven, I want to ascend there. So most days when able, I have my eyes set on this heavenly realm and hope that it does exist. Jade.
so sorry you have been in so much pain for so long and that you have experienced so much trauma. Dont give up on getting professional help to help you cope and heal. it may take a while and you may have to try numerous therapist to find a good fit, but I know it can really help. Glad you are sharing your experience cause that can really help too. Also there is 24/7 help via National Suicide Prevention Lifeline 1-800-273-8255 ... sending prayers for hope and healing🙏
I'D TRIED SUICIDE, BUT MY FRIEND CALLED RESCUE IN TIME TO SAVE ME. THE DOCTORS TOLD MY FAMILY, THAT IN A MATTER OF SECOND, I WOULD TURN INTO A VEGETABLE. I'M SO GRATEFUL TO GOD THAT I WAS TAKEN IN TIME TO THE HOSPITAL, AND HERE I AM. BUT I'M DEALING WITH DEPRESION. SADNESS ALL THE TIME.
When I first verbalized my feelings of anxiety/depression I was told to deal with it. That there was nothing that could be done and it was something I would just have to learn to live with. Speaking out just isn't an option for everyone, especially when they don't have a support system around them.

I have tried to commit suicide. My children got removed because I was deemed mentally unfit. I lost everything. The system sees me as a threat, all my credibility is gone… I wish we had a better system for mental illness….

this girl besides the obvious that she is drop dead gorgeous, she has a beautiful soul. It's crazy to think she thought she needed to leave this life. Her path is different now but she will and has I'm sure helped so many other young people
I always admire people who are suicidal yet continue to live. They are constantly riding along the edge of 'live or die'. They are the strongest people to walk the earth (if only they knew or realize that for themselves). Stay strong.

I drove off a bridge, I didn’t die and I spend everyday wishing that I didn’t wake up in that hospital. The doctors worked so hard to save my life and I’m filled with animosity for them. When they pushed that wheelchair into the room and asked if I was ready I had no idea how much worse my life was about to become. I live in constant pain, I’ve gone back to using illicit drugs for pain relief because nothing works better. My wife has left me because of the drugs not for being paralyzed, nobody understands what it’s like to want nothing more than to not wake up. I take handfuls of pills every night and hope that my existence will finally come to an end. They say when you kill yourself that the pain you feel just transfers to the people who loved you. If that’s true than I don’t feel bad about it because we’ll be together soon.
Struggling with mental health can be terrifying. I struggle myself with bad depression and insomnia

Your image is something I want. I wouldn't have known what you were actually going through. I would assume "she has everything" but of course you had a storm inside. 💔🥺 I hate how someone looks ok but really they aren't. 😐😔 But at the same time, I don't take care of myself outwardly, no one actually asks.
I've felt so down that I thought of ending it, but not so down that I would actually go through with it. Interesting how motivated someone can become to live, once they make the attempt,
and then actually end up with even more challenges. It's like you have to try to die, to find out you really don't want to.

You are very beautiful. I am proud of you. I survived a suicide attempt back in January. It left my right leg with neuropathy. Most days it is painful. I still struggle with my mind everyday. I signed up to be a Crisis text Hotline Counselor to see if that would help in my recovery.
I would like to do that.
I was thinking about the counselor idea myself, just last night. If not, I might try to help people on here and see if I can. I plan to be honest and careful with platitudes. When you’re hurting, generic words of encouragement can seem either not helpful or even make you feel worse. Most people just want to help and are hesitant (rightly so) of saying the wrong thing. If you’re, say, really depressed, positivity can easily feel patronizing since your perception is off. I exchanged with a guy from the premier video’s comments and we’ve gone back and forth for a couple of days. I believe it’s possibly helping both of us. We’ve been encouraging each other. Sometimes a stranger showing concern feels more human somehow. We began by sharing our troubles and related history from the start. So long as it’s healthy for both of us, I’ll keep in touch.

It just occurred to me that I just kind of did the same thing with you. Direct, not positive or negative, on topic and yet just kinda casual. I know having my own very tough situation helps. Otherwise, I don’t know if I’d be commenting at all. Maybe I should check out the qualifications for helping others. I have to admit - there’s something therapeutic about focusing on someone else’s life, knowing you can relate to some degree. It’s almost feeling like counseling myself at the same time. Idk if this makes sense. Perhaps I was meant to help in this way, if only for awhile.
Good luck with the daily struggle. If you respond, I’ll be interested in whatever you share. I think you really meant it when you told her you’re proud of her. I’m proud of you for telling her so.

Wow… Your story is truly inspiring!! How long have you been paralyzed if you don’t mind me asking? I have been paralyzed going on five years now and June on June 7 at 2:36 PM to be exact lol! I like that whenever you think or hear a negative thought or comment, that you fight it by thinking of two positive things… That seems like a great way to help stay positive… I remember when I first got paralyzed, laying in the bed for 2 1/2 months in the hospital, all I would think about was the tens and thousands of things big and small that I couldn’t do anymore… I feel blessed and so incredibly happy that those days are long gone! Thanks to the lord our god and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! The first two years years c we’re definitely the hardest by far! Third year was a very transitional year… With a lot of praying and a lot of support… No not a lot, but a ton of support. Not only from my family and friends, but from Jesus and God our father as well! Being in therapy has helped a lot as well! I have been in counseling for going on seven years now and September in September! I was in counseling for two years before I was paralyzed and if you aren’t in counseling, I would highly recommend it! It has saved my life countless times! My name is Wesley, I am 38 and from Seattle on the west coast… I would love to chat sometime if you are up to it at all! Power chairs aren't for everyone.. one example is, they don't fold up for transportation.. are you going to buy a vehicle with a ramp? How about building a ramp at her home? Maybe the inside of her house has small corners she wouldn't be able to navigate around..
Those things are expensive (insurance doesn't cover them)
they are big, bulky, awkward
and they need to be charged for many hours each day.

It's the problem with suicide. No one has experience in getting it right. I am sorry this happened, but she might even regret having not gotten it right. That being said, what was so wrong with her life that she did it? The video does not answer.

Being beautiful has nothing to do with this this is the matter of you're way too young to even think about suicide there are veterans that I've been to Iraq and Afghanistan have been to way more drama she's a cheerleader through high School she's hasn't been too much I mean I'm sure she has and I'm sorry for that but there's been a lot more veterans that have been through a lot more obviously she doesn't want to talk about what she's been through I'm sure she's been through a lot and I feel for her but there's a lot of people have been through a lot too and they don't even get recognized or noticed on the news they don't get recognized at all there's a lot of people that do a lot in this world they get shot whatever it is suicide you know what though and there's a lot of people's world that have been to a lot and they've survived and they have never thought about putting a ball to their head a bullet to their head I am glad that she's supporting other people I'm glad you survived I really am what I don't understand is why she did in the first place beauty has nothing to do with this so we're going to put that aside right away but she is too young very young you need to experience life and you need to deal with the hardship because you know what high school is easy for nobody bullying you name it but people get through that people get through it somehow or another we all have all gone through it we've all been bullied but there's no reason to put both your head no reason I got to say so many veterans out there 18 years old life is alive PTSD and they're still out there fighting car country and they don't even complain and yet they're not even noticed nobody knows about them you know why cuz they don't want to be known that's why the military the military and they don't want to be known for what they've done so in our country for a reason and keep it silent and keeping our country solid and safe God bless USA

Also being educated has nothing to do with this I have a bachelor's degree and a top-notch college with this has to do with this is a teenager that has is too young to experience suicide and she's too young to experience suicidal thoughts at that moment there's so many teenagers that survive as somebody that don't she was a cheerleader she had like going for her the reason for suicide we don't know because she hasn't discussed it yet but there are so many people that have committed suicide and not get a smile not yet a smile I do give it to the veterans though not even complaint we don't know why she did it but the main factor she's still alive that she's helping other people and she's giving is for the fact that the reason she did it compared to all the others that have wanted to or did it have lived survived we've all seen it we've all heard it we've all experienced it well I don't know about experienced it but you got to go through a lot of trauma to do something like this in high schools the year to do it for some yes for some no bullying you know you name it but you know what though I see so many people survive drugs whatever it's a tough world it's a hard world it's a very harsh world but you know what though we don't know what the other side and we will never know until we give up this side
Why did you commit suicide you're pretty. It doesn't make sense, there are people who are losers in every regard that commit suicide. That makes sense.
