    Hi Claire 😊
I recently got a bottle of Lolita Lempicka edp. I wanted it for quite a while.
I blind bought Afnan Rare Tiffany after hearing raves about it. I absolutely detested it. 😝 I decluttered it too. 😂
The perfume was Pulsating off of you?😂😂😂
    I loved the video 💛

Thank you ❤️ Lolita Lempicka is beautiful 💜 haha Rare Tiffany is one I will forever regret 😂 it was very plasticky to me.
It was! I have an 8 person office and half a spray filled it! I'm not surprised because I can smell my friend in the lab always from at least 5m away, sometimes more! It's a strong one! 🥰

Your description of aldehydes as 3D is the best thing I’ve heard all week! It took me ages to come around and appreciate the smell of them in perfume, now I love aldehydes. 🎉😊

Thank you ❤️ They took me a while too! I think smelling them outside of things that are well known, like Chanel no. 5, helped me to appreciate them. There's much more to them than soapiness. 😉

Hi Claire! What an interesting and unusual tag. Question number four really made me giggle. 🤭 I don’t currently own anything I'm ashamed of, but the ME hype has certainly gotten the best of us all at some point. I bought some cheap dupe before I bought Lancome’s Oud Bouquet, but neither worked for me. 🙁 My favourite natural material is probably myrrh. I was always under the impression that the myrrh used in things like Opium is real, but I'm not so sure anymore.

    • @dr.claire.perfume
      @dr.claire.perfume  23 часа назад +2

Myrrh is gorgeous 😍, I love it when it has that slightly medicinal feel to it too. Yes I'm afraid I'm unwilling to blind buy affordable ME now. I've been burnt way too many times, but Rare Tiffany was definitely the one where I realised that my own taste is seemingly no one else's on YT 😂 feel free to do the tag if you fancy it. Thanks for watching 🥰

DKNY Be Delicious was one of my first perfumes as well. Technically curious by Britney Spears was my very first perfume however I was a young teen at the time. The frag I was ashamed of owning was Delilah, a dupe of Delina. Smelled both side by side and my nose couldn’t detect much difference. What was embarrassing about it is that I knew I didn’t like the original Delina and yet I was trying so hard to like it because it’s such a hyped and beloved scent. I thought if I can handle the dupe then I would eventually buy the OG 😂. Trying to train my nose to like something to fit in and chase clout seems rather shallow and silly to me now 😂.

Yes! I understand what you mean! It was very hyped and everyone seemed to love it. I'll admit I tried it and I didn't understand the love for Delina, I did eventually also try a clone oil of Delina Exclusif and that wasn't for me either 😂 I did try! But yes, it's ridiculous 😂

Thank you Claire! ❤ I’m blushing, so flattered you answered these questions. A few comments- love the Fan Dobi Dozi title. 😂 I was dying at Rare Tiffany! The Gatorade Glacier Blue color of that juice… ! It wasn’t intentional but at 13:59 you brought up a good point - it’s easier to recall indie perfumers because they’re the brand owners too. I am really pleased that is the case as they truly are the heroes of perfume as you said. Yes! 🙌🏼 Thank you again for taking time to answer these questions! 👏

Hi Claire, happy Sunday. This is a fun tag. I rather enjoy tags. Yes we are often influenced to think we should like something that doesn't suit us because it is popular lol. I am intrigued by Orpheon. I am also now interested in looking into aldehydes. I like a small to medium projection. I like people to notice it if they lean in but not be overwhelming or leave a trail. What was the name of the one that lifted your spirits and made you feel that you were in the bath? Fun tag! Good morning, Claire. Like you I am partial and intrigued by aldehydes in perfumes. It was a favourite note for me early on when I was in my twenties ( decades ago!) for a long time I wore Crabtree and Evelyn scents, which years ago seemed natural smelling to my nose, especially rose and lavender. However, these products are now very synthetic and unappealing. The first perfume that I bought in my early twenties was Estée Lauder’s white linen, the original release which smelled clean and fresh-soapy. I was hooked for years! It smells very different now. Thanks for a great video and discussion!

Crabtree and Evelyn used to be really lovely stuff, their soaps and cremes were fab, I bought some for my mum again a few years back and I wasn't as impressed. I wonder whether they've changed ownership? Estée Lauder's older fragrances are / were very loved I think! I think a lot of the fragrances that I smell now smell different to how I remember them, I assume it's reformulation but also I know I sometimes have a rosy tinted view of things I've smelt long ago. I would bet White Linen has been reformulated though. Thanks for watching 🥰

Fragrance of shame? Panettone by Milano; I expected festive bread but got citrus essential oil.
Last 3 tested on skin? Guidance - yes; YSL L'Absolu Platine - no; Prada Infusion de Gingembre- no.
    Great questions 👏

Yes, I understand the feeling of being intimidated by particular brands, especially when people on RUclips say things like, "oh this is polarising", "I don't think everyone will love this." If samples are crazily expensive, it just puts you off... Amouage were a revelation! I loved some of the older ones especially. And Guerlain are a big love too, even if I don't get to try so many any longer as my local counter closed. 🤦‍♀️
I have a sample of Panettone, I need to get to it! Guidance I've tried, but only briefly, I need to revisit it and pay more attention 😂 absolute Platine wasn't a love but also neither a dislike, I've not tried the Prada.

Hello Claire, thank you for interesting answers to the tag.
I too would answer aldehydes for favorite synthetic material. I have TF Métallique, many affordable bottles were available when it was quickly discontinued and I enjoy that icy blast of aldehydes like snow flakes. I wish it were more popular. I love opoponax and resins in general for winter, incense, purple flowers like almondy heliotrope, and spring purple flowers like violet, hyacinth and lilac, green materials like galbanum, too many things to list in fact, ambroxan is my nemesis, my nose ferrets it out and it genuinely makes me queasy, so no Kenzo World for me😉.
I'm on holidays in Drôme Provençale where the air wafts smells of wild thyme and pine, I feel so lucky to be spending a month here, I have only one mini bottle of Eau de néroli doré, and bottles of Jardin après la mousson and Salimar Millésime Tonka, I nevertheless watch your Saturday videos, always💚

Re: aldehydes, Chanel was famous (or infamous) for making aldehydes popular (although they had been used earlier). Out of curiosity, I checked the "Aldehydes" section on Fragrantica to see how many perfumes I have with aldehydes. They are:
    Metallique Tom Ford
Les Absolus d'Orient Encens Mythique Guerlain
    Pikovaya Dama 2018 Xerjoff
    Oud Khôl Guerlain
    Superstitious Frederic Malle
    Maai Bogue
    Rive Gauche Yves Saint Laurent
1831 Norma Bellini Absolu EdP Histoires de Parfums
Of course, their list is probably not exhaustive:)

I guessed Orpheon just before you said it. Have you considered the solid compact? Tbh I've got a £50 Jo Malone voucher to use and have considered getting a compact instead of a 30ml; their scents don't project anyway and compacts are easy to carry around and top up as/when. It makes sense right, but I just can't make a decision 🤷‍♀️

    • @dr.claire.perfume
      @dr.claire.perfume  День назад +2

Yeah I get that 😅 I find vouchers just make me confused. If it were cash I'd just buy the 30ml elsewhere and be done with it. As it is I am going backwards and forwards on whether to just get 75ml. I don't think the shop sells the solid fragrances either. Maybe I should just keep the vouchers and shop elsewhere 🤷‍♀️ I know what you mean too about Jo Malone, I had an in-store consultation a while back and whilst I liked a couple, most were gone from my skin before I left town. The sales assistant even added the moisturiser underneath too to try to prolong them! It shocked me! The only one that lasted was from the cologne intense range. 🥰

I don't remember the aldehydes but I've only tried it once a while ago and the ambroxan was the only aspect of it that I now remember, other than the pear. 😂

Aw that's nice ur first buy was for ur mum. Be Delicious is one I know well. An interesting first buy.
Your most recent buy is pretty damn chuffing good. It is gorgeous isn't it 😍.
Yes it's very sad with Kilian isn't it, they used to be a truly great brand, it's long gone now. I don't want to smell the new "Imperial Tea" I think it will be insulting.
Ah Rare Tiffany... A rare case of a fragrance I'll never be able to forget. This fragrance proves to me the sheeple effect, I genuinely think this objectively ghastly. I cannot fathom anyone being a fan truly.
Ah the absolue intense extreme superbanging flanker 🙄 it is a line I think is nice though.
It's a shame with Diptyque. You should treat yourself. A peppery rose probably not for me.
That Musc powder sounds rather nice actually. I imagine it's a shame with the cashmeran.
Aldehydes are rather wonderful in a fragrance.
Oh yes jasmine 🤍 a great choice. I do love it too, it's a magical note.
Kenzo Jungle is a very nice one isn't it. I didn't find it remotely hard to love or challenging 🤣. Dry spicy fragrances work and I found it quite fruity I think.

Imperial Tea has completely different notes listed with the new formulation which I don't take to be a good sign 🤦‍♀️
      Rare Tiffany was horrendous. 😂
LOL I would love to know if there was a reason the Absolu was launched and the Intense was discontinued. Was it IFRA or solely so they could pedal something new and not have to design a new bottle? They literally used the same one with a different name on...
Kenzo Jungle is pretty friendly isn't it? But I guess if all you've smelt is modern female marketed designer fragrances, that is going to be a shock 😱 because it's interesting.
Interlude to the office would at least give you more space 😂
