I just bought one. No regrets lol. I’ve had this recently along with HH18, an ECBP pirate bottle hazmat and when I tried this I was 🤯. so rich, bold, and makes me come back for more.
Had a chance to buy and passed. Sampled a pour and just no where near other great releases from them. 450 is absolutely insane. It's more of a nostalgic bottle because it's the first where the 3 of them are partnered. It'll be very collectible for many if Jimmy is not around over the next few years.
It's got be super super good for me to spend over $110. These bourbon prices are outta control .......shyt tequila prices especially anejo and reposados are catching up too. May have to find a local moonshiner. Smh
In my earlier days of working full time, I wouldn't think twice about spending that on a bottle I really wanted. Nowadays woking part time and close to retirement, my whisky budget doesn't' allow for it.
Campari's price raising has gotten out of control and it's sad because if these things sat on the shelf for a bit the trend would slow down and you wouldn't be staring at almost $500 for basically a very well blended Russell single barrel.
Well I'm in Australia and let's say unforgotten was 350 now I just picked up voyage for 400 yesterday .. can't imagine what I will c this for if I find one one day.cheers for your thoughts & review boyz
Maybe in a different year when other great stuff from turkey isn't available, had the opportunity to buy it in NC and passed. The store had only sold one out of the case at that point. No campout or anything, just walked in late in the day. Hard to blame them though when people are selling masters keep bottles for $500 on BST pages.
Yeah. I called it. I actually have a slight preference for SR CNF. The word I use for this release is "intriguing." It is full throttle like a BTAC, but with a Wild Turkey flavor profile. What really got me about it was the mid palate. The palate was not soft, but when the mid palate hits, it is like a delayed reaction explosion. I didn't realize how rare these are. I will likely never own a bottle, not because I won't pay for it, but because I will never see it. From that standpoint, the price makes sense. I think Campari is still smarting over the $60 release price of RR13. They have remedied that and have gone way too far in the other direction. Still, these bottles won't be sitting around on shelves like older WTMK releases used to.
These companies know that there is a demand that outweighs supply in alot of instances so they raise prices to regain resell value internally it's happened in alot of industries
I bought a 2oz pour of this for $45. I really loved the pour. It’s excellent BUT I just can’t spend that much on a bottle. It would be incredibly fiscally irresponsible of me. Cheers
Unfortunately I’m done with Turkey. Special releases are just too expensive now. Campari is really ruining a great brand with these price gouging games.
Not surprised that it's a fantastic bottle, and I understand why they're playing around with pricing. They still have some of the best value bourbons out there in WT101, Rare Breed, and Russell's 10. This is definitely for the super enthusiasts who have the money to spend, and that's okay. I don't see myself splurging if given the opportunity, but I'm glad that those who are purchasing it are enjoying it. I already got "burned" this year with the Master's Keep Voyage, so I'm definitely less likely to purchase one of these. If you're going to price like this, you sure as hell better not miss.
I reviewed this a few weeks back and I slightly disagree it’s not that special. It’s decent bourbon for sure but it’s not in the same league as RR13 so how can they charge about 300 more. So yes it’s grossly overpriced and they didn’t even put the best bourbon they have in the bottle which is even sadder. I hope this price gouging actually starts to hurt them as they deserve it at this point
In a few years are we going to be saying the same things about some other LE that’s going for $1,000 msrp? These recent rising bourbon costs are getting crazy.
Can’t blame Campari for trying to get max profitzzzz. They realized that there are far more taters than actual enthusiasts that will actually crack these… They know plenty of folks will still buy regardless of the price. The ones crying the most are the flippers, claiming it eats into their profit. Now that all the stimulus money has dried up, the only place this will be sitting on the shelf is secondary groups.
So think that is to different animals. I look at a ECBP as a everyday kind of drinker at this point. Generations is special occasion whiskey in my book. It tells a great and unique story. I feel like as great as ECBP batch C923 is(And it really is a monster) I feel like I will get that same experience one day on another ECBP eventually but I am not sure I will ever get that Generations experience ever again from Wild Turkey.
Seems fairly simple, if you think it’s too expensive don’t buy it. There’s a high end and a low end to most things … we all can’t dabble in the super premium. Wild Turkey makes many affordable bottles that punch way above their weight. In the world of wines this price is mid tier AF. You might drink that bottle of wine in a single sitting .. A5 Waygu steak in Vegas definitely more expensive and gone in minutes. High end experiences are for special times. This bottle is definitely not marketed as an everyday sipper.
“It’s a solid 8.” At that price, you can’t be a solid 8. You have to be a bonafide 12. This is $200 more than the Heaven Hill Heritage Collection and William Heaven Hill and $300 more than Hardin’s Creek! The price is outrageous and there’s no excusing it. Further, I think they can get away with it if this is their 1 ridiculous price, but you raised prices on EVERYTHING and the price of the CNF and Master’s Keep also factors into the outrage over this. This one is getting a “alright you’ve finally crossed a line” treatment and I think it’s deserved.
Compare it to the Wild Turkey 13 Year Old Father & Son release in 2020... that was MSRP of $70 and a 13 year age statement. The big difference of course being proof - 120 vs 86. The secondary on the older bottle is around $250 as compared to the stupid secondary ask on Generations of ~$1700. Is it worth secondary? Hell no. Is it even worth $450? Nope. It's a price gouge because they see a marketplace that is willing to do idiotic stuff. Bourbon has become a marketplace where established brands can release ANYTHING and if they price it as a luxury LE they will sell out and the bottle will trade higher on secondary. Secondary market doesn't directly benefit the manufacturers but it changes consumer behavior - it creates FOMO. All of these bottles are just FOMO bottles. Overall, it's not THAT different in glass.
Sad to see man they’re gonna butcher and batter such a great brand by deterring loyal customers with these ridiculous prices….. and when special releases go up eventually standard on the shelf stuff will also
Just No. If you spend this on booze you have more money than brains. I understand the history and cool story about this family and what they have done. However its a bottle of bourbon and that's just a ridiculous price. I'll stick with the standard releases from WT till they price them over my limit.

Nice but I will just enjoy my Russell’s single barrel, RR13yr, and RR Rickhouse CNF! Cheers

Do you guys think it is better than the MK Bottled in Bond from a few seasons ago? I adored that bottle. Best bourbon i have ever had, hands down..
Yes and I(Zach) love that bottle.

I don't know why this username showed up. I think it is my RUclips TV subscription. This is me.

Hey guys. Just watched Fred Minnick's review of Generations. His bottle came in a box with 2 glasses! Where's your box!
Really enjoying the Single Rick House CNF. Is this that much better than CNF?
I bought a 2oz pour of this for $45. I really loved the pour. It’s excellent BUT I just can’t spend that much on a bottle. It would be incredibly fiscally irresponsible of me. Cheers
I am lucky enough to get it on the preorder from their website, Should be delivered around New Years Eve according to them.
😂😂
Lucky?! or cursed 😂😂

Amem!

Agreed, it's not a tone deaf action like significantly raising the prices on existing products during a recession would be.
Campari is trying to make more
Maybe things are tough in Italy
What did you trade to acquire this bottle if you don't me asking?
As for Russells single barrel, Kentucky prices are absurd. I buy them when I am in Ohio or Georgia. Much better pricing there.
Love Wild Turkey but 450 for a bottle is steep for my budget
You should do a blind with this and a couple other Masters keeps or Russell 13
We have a big turkey blind coming later I promise.

How do you think this compares to King of Kentucky?
King is a different animal and better.
The prices for WT makes me happy I want everyone to go to the same pricing model that Campari has with their last few releases
In a few years are we going to be saying the same things about some other LE that’s going for $1,000 msrp? These recent rising bourbon costs are getting crazy.
I am worried you are correct
Can’t blame Campari for trying to get max profitzzzz. They realized that there are far more taters than actual enthusiasts that will actually crack these… They know plenty of folks will still buy regardless of the price. The ones crying the most are the flippers, claiming it eats into their profit.

Fred Minnick’s video showed it came in a box with two glasses. Not sure if that was just a media distribution thing or not.
fred gets what fred wants.... HAHAHA. No media samples for us just the good old trade or purchase
@@bourbonkingdom lol!! True ‘dat.
Is it worth 4 and a half EcBP c923
More like 5x to 6x

So, there is better whiskey that is not as expensive. I love WT, but this is a hard pass for me.

Hell No! If I wanted to spend that much I'd get a bottle of Olde Saint Nick
Honestly I don't hate Old Saint Nick but this bottles destroys all of them I have ever had.
