      They look a lot like them too. At least the guy that plays Carlos does anyway. I saw an interview with the actual Carlos Castaño and the resemblance was uncanny

    you canot undertand this scene .When the dea said lets go home alive it means a lot .javier pena knew they can not defeat castano hermanos .castano would kill them ,they were ruthless .This scene one of the greatest scene ever

      Not really, at that range it doesn't really matter how ruthless you are, what matters is who shoots first and how many rounds can you put down range. All it takes is one bullet and you're dead, maybe the mercs would've won(probably after taking like 70-80% casualties) or maybe the police would have won.

      City cops who were seasoned fighters against Pablo isn’t a being a pushover. Also, Castenos brothers were killing farmers and other noncombatants who just happened to interact with FARC. Just saying if anything Peña was preventing an unnecessary bloodbath because Carlos is a lunatic with no boundaries, and also protecting himself because it would of led into an investigation of how he made a deal with them

      It was, it is assumed that he is the son of Hugo Martínez (the colonel head of the search block), who had recently graduated as a second lieutenant of the police and was assigned to that unit (after that moment in the series they transfer him to intelligence and put him responsible for intercepting cartel communications)
