Low elo is a social experiment that tests the limits of a persons patience, stress tolerance, and ability to work around 4 people that need to be carried

Whenever i smurf between Silver-Platinum, ive always noticed 2 things that happen in almost every game:
    1. Theres always 1-2 players that imo dont belong on those elos because they have nice macro game understanding or are mechanically good, but what holds them down is their ego + their teammates bad decisions
    2. The bad players are not only bad per se, their mental is reaaaaally bad, they waste like 10 seconds or more every 2-3 minutes typing, are always pointing someone else mistake and they are way too overconfident.
In my opinion is really sad that riot havent developed a different way to calculate RP gain/lose, they should take in consideration personal performance rather than win-lose situations, i mean things like csing, objectives, KP, etc should reduce the amount of LP you lose or increase the LP gain in every game, that would make people motivated to play better every game rather than queing into a game hoping the coin flips on their favor

But poke support can't 1v5 when entire team forces a team fight or gets picked off while overextending instead of playing slow and letting me whittle them down. It can be very situational on whether I can carry it or not. Once 2+ teammates are just being constantly toxic and deciding to throw one way or another just because they both have giant egos even though they know nothing, it’s typically just lost, no recovery option. And that’s one of the most common irritating situations. I wish your LP had a little more to do with personal performance and not just “oh, your team lost, and this is your fourth loss in a row, so -20 LP; you’re garbage.”

I saw a guy in S3 clearly trying to boost an account. His record on the season was 50-8 and he was S3. this is explained so well, respect. and its also the reason why its so hard to keep climbing once a player manages to hit d4/d3. because at that point one is so focused on only playing into situations that do not require any competence by teamates. in other words many players who finaly beat their way out of plat like myself where kind of destroyed by the low elo experience in the progress. and flipping the swich to all of a sudden to mostly play whit the team instead of playing the game for them is one hell of a challenge when you have no experience playing whit decent teams.

Had the most dmg done, got average A-S on my performance, had great KDA, nearly 70% kill participation and always ganked other lanes ((I´m ADC).. despite this I´m losing every single game it feels like and it´s always teammates running 0/6/0 within the first 5 minutes of the game. I dropped from Silver to Iron 1 since the split happened and I´m honestly speechless atm. I´ve decided to properly r**e my account and just continue running it down, eventually I´ll be able to exit the matrix

The problem with League of Legends is, it IS not fun to HAVE to hard carry and play AS HARD as possible EVERY single game. League of Legends as a competitive game doesn't work it's fundamentally flawed by this. I should NOT have to put my team on my back essentially giving THEM a free win, JUST so I can climb the ladder. I SHOULD be able to sit back play good enough and come together in a 5v5 setting as a TEAM. Yes, there's games where somebody else carries or your team DOES work together BUT, this is far and few in between the norm of UNLESS YOU carry, you will float around the same rank until you do decide to play so hard it becomes redundant and unfun. People will say "You are stuck because you aren't good enough!" When what they really mean is, YOU aren't putting your entire team on your back in what is supposed to be a 5v5 game NOT a 1v5 game.

I had a game in low silver where my team took the inhib tower and decided to back off. I pinged my tanky jg to take the inhib while I shadowed him since a 20 min inhib creates pressure. After that we took the second herald, and I stole it from my top laner since I knew if we dropped it where the inhib is down we would win. My top laner started to tilt, while the rest of my team joined the herald push mid and won the game. I kept asking my top laner if he was sure that he thought of the right play as we took the rest of their base and aced them. He just couldn't admit he was wrong even after the game was won in 3 mins after the herald take....

I've learned a lot from Skill Capped, but one of the things that I've learned recently is that their advice is contextual. You have to understand the game state. The first statement you make is true. Often, people in low elo make bad mistakes and don't put themselves in a position to carry the game. But the second statement can also be true, where you put yourself in a position to carry the game, but you make the wrong call because you assume that your team is going to make the correct play.
You need to incorporate all of the information skill capped is giving you into a more complete understanding of the game.

As someone who has been diamond, I can definitely say the games are so much less frustrating even though you still get shit teammates. In low plat/gold games, it's literally a matchmaking coinflip. Your games are largely decided by who has more griefers and who is griefing the hardest. People just do so much random, objectively dumb things per minute that unless you're a challenger player, the amount of control you have is very little and the only thing you can do if you're actually a consistently good player is keep playing games until enough coin flips land on heads. It actually takes me twice the amount of games to get from gold to plat as it takes for me to get from plat to diamond just because games are more controllable the higher you get.

@6:00 Two great lessons here that haven't been touched on:
#1 Prioritize farm over fishing expeditions (especially on scaling champs like most ADCs), yes, a pick in this map state is really good for Jinx's team, but her presence is neither required nor especially desirable given potential risks to make it happen. The farm mid is safe money and xp, which contributes to your excellent scaling (scaling is how well xp and gold increase your power level). In lower elos, don't assume your teammates will make the right choices, they frequently won't, be happy when they don't make terrible decisions that throw away your team's advantage(s) or compound the enemy's advantages.
#2: Pushing lanes also makes it easier to advance the game towards victory. This is for a variety of reasons. The most important of which is having waves close to enemy towers makes it very easy to destroy them off of any won fight (even a minor victory will give enough time as the enemy regroups/backs to heal etc. for you to rush to a lane w/ minions near the enemy's tower and take said tower before then can regroup to defend it). Conversely, they have a long ways to push the lanes in order to start destroying any towers. The real insight here is that having waves pushed towards the enemies tower(s) makes the potential payoffs of a fight far more favorable for your team. This alters the risk v. reward calculus by increasing the rewards and lowering the risks of fighting the enemy. Experienced players usually have a pretty good sense of the likelihoods of winning/losing a fight, but they often ignore how weighted the payoffs of that fight might be. Proper risk v. reward assessment means computing the 'expectation' of the proposed course of action. This is the sum of the ((probability of outcome) times (payoff of this outcome) summed over possible outcomes. So if you can makes the rewards biased in your team's favor it can actually be worth taking a pretty major risk in terms of likelihood of success because you risk very little but potentially gain a *lot*. Conversely, when fighting in a situation where the rewards are limited and what is being risked is significant, extreme caution should be exercised and only the most sure of plays attempted.

After I admited, that my current Elo does not even remotely fits the playstyle I was going for, it went much more smoothly.

I TOLD my team gathering mid that I would quickly clear that. I did that anticipating a potential scenario where two enemies end up alive after the fight and would then push two lanes thanks to this huge wave. In that small interval it took me to go top and clear the wave, the losers fought mid 4x5 and got decimated. Bear in mind that thanks to ME, we still had all out mid turrets. They could have easily stayed back for 10 seconds and lost the first mid turret instead of engaging/getting engaged. Then, of course, they blamed me for the loss.

Seems the only reason the Nashor with split pressure didn't work is because they started not with his pressure but only after he was engaged by enemies and about to die. I fail to believe this wouldn't have been a clean Baron 10 or even 5 seconds earlier. Not arguing with the general concept just won't give up my agency as a top laner I have with split pushing. Also, after I shout at my team once or twice for not using my pressure it usually starts working and we end up winning the game when they do get that Baron or Elder.

problem is league has too many catch up mechanisms and even if you stomp your lane a simple shutdown gold can easily let the enemy team take over
solution is simple, get rid of all catch up in ranked (jungle catch up xp, objective catch up, shutdown gold) keep them in normal (so people who are casual are not screwed)
I really don't like playing perfect laning and getting weaker every single second just because my teammates are apes

Horrible mentality. This just means that you have to actually keep playing well, you can't just play well in lane and then turn your brain off. You are punished severely for being bad at the macro game in the mid- to lategame by offering huge shutdowns, so playing safe and anticipating dangerous situations become more important.
I much prefer it this way.

    • @canyegane2406
      @canyegane2406 2 года назад +1

@@theWebWizrd the current game is a roulette where unless you are master+ skilled you can't force games to end early and the enemy team always catches up when you have shitty teammates, they don't even need to feed, just not being aggressive enough when you have the lead and letting enemy team farm is as just as bad
if the catch up is removed, games will end earlier because the winning side will just stomp, why is this even bad? it literally pushes you to improve your early game and is much more fair, with the current system every low elo game takes 30+ mins where most players have 3-4 items and then the game is more or less a coin flip. This is just a psychological trick that riot swings at you so that you keep winning some and losing some, therefore keep on playing. Just use your head and recognize the mental trap.

The problem is every time there is a feeder, griefer, or Manchild on the upset about someone else poor decision making or play. This leads to losing probably more often than not. The tilt is real regardless if you are winning, one person still can throw the lead and you lose if they get upset at a team mate.

1- Don't vision-tunnel into plays following blindly your team , choose the option that gives you more options to be safe if things go wrong (as most of the times will go wrong as is low-elo and people don't know how to play)
2- Don't go all-mid to end a game if an enemy is pushing a tower, better defend that tower because in most cases your teammates will die there and the enemy will take all your towers
3- Don't force baron just because an ally died in the opposite lane pushing, bait it instead
4- Pressure a lane only if other are being pressure too, if your teammates stop pressuring, just leave too

0:26 who would have thought riot games psychologically abusive match making system is actually in the wrong?
There's a reason games are never close anymore, and why a majority of non-reddit users know about losers queue and winners queue.
The 40-40-20 rule exists in no other game but league. 40% forced wins, 40% forced losses, 20% decided by the player.
In every other game it's 0-0-100, with 100% of your games decided by your skill. That's why league is very infamous in NA.

Something I notice at lower elo is that people don't know how to wave manage their creeps at the right time for objectives. They don't know how to push their lane when objectives are about to be up. They don't know how to even out the lanes and when they should be backing so they're not behind on items. They don't know how to let enemies push into their tower if they want a gank. Laners then complain we're not taking objectives. Yeah, it's because your lane is pushed in and you have 1 HP left. What do you expect your team to do? Go in and take objectives while enemy has lane priority and you're about to die and feed too?
I know when I have a solid top laner as a teammate when he push his lane in around that first 3min15s into the game and he actually invades enemy's jungler as a top laner and contest that first scuddle spawn time, because he knows enemy's jungler should be finishing their camp clear around that time. Knowing where enemy's jungler is at is crucial for preventing yourself being ganked and possibly even killing enemy's jungler. It's these small advantages in the early game that leads to your win in the long term.
People don't realize that going to gank a hard losing lane will most likely result yourself end up feeding along with your laners too, because the opponent is up in levels and items. It's hard to explain to people about their bad positions and inability to analyze the differences in team fights. You're not going to win against a fed opponent with 2 items fully build when you only have half of your first item, and he's up in levels by 2-3 levels. Then late game, there's always that one person standing in mid lane with no towers left, zero vision, all enemies are missing, and he's completely oblivious to his surrounding and expecting Santa Clause to show up and give him a hug or something.

I just manage their wave states for them and if they get mad and afk oh well.
If something I want is up, I'll show in their lane knowing we have a 0% chance at a gank. I'll show just to give them lane prio and help them shove so they have nothing better to do than roam for scuttles etc and I'm an adc main lmfao.
I find that the easiest way to climb is to make all the decisions for them. The sad truth is unless someone plays both jungle and lane they don't have a real grasp of how the game works only 50% of it.

No. The spoken falsehood between you and this video is the idea that you or these crappers in the video belong in a higher tier. They played like trash and got punished for it. Twitch recalled after Baron instead of 5v4'ing them in base with Baron/Elder/Soul buffs. Caitlyn ignored map expecting Kindred to fight off Quinn+Yuumi solo and expecting Ornn to hold top, despite him being out-of-lane for 15+ seconds before Wukong ganked her.
These are trash players and if you can't see that then you belong in trashtier with them. If Elo hell exists, it's because you and these trashers think that "you can always do the righ tthing and lose." -- you will never always do the right thing. You won't even do the best thing 5% of the time. Even Challengers do not do the absolute best thing more than 10% of the time.

I would argue with a bit more nuance into the difference between low and high elo. High elo comes with tremendous macro and micro understanding; you can rely on teammates to make the right choice. In low elo, you cannot guarantee, and thus shouldn't assume your teammates will make smart choices. The difference here is that in the cases when you see "proper" behavior from teammates in low elo, you need to be able to recognize that behavior, and capitalize on it. From a macro standpoint (in low elo), you should make the safe play, but be prepared to IMMEDIATELY make the right play if you see the conditions on the map. Discretion and nuance go a long way in crushing your opponents, especially in lower elo. A correctly played map is beautifully suffocating, and you should not pass up the opportunities to practice that level of domination.
That being said, great video. You bring up the crucial point that rules, strategy, and norms are only as useful as they are commonly understood. Make the play that pushes the advantage, and that won't always be the textbook play.

9:10 important to know if you want to climb, starting baron like that, sets you up in a voulnerable position because baron also reduces resistances so preferably you want to be ahead in lvls or both team contesting baron at the same time to make it a more fair fight.
Ideally someone ahead holds back enemy team

As a Jungler that has progressed from Iron to Gold this season, I'd like to give a bit of info about how I do not allow my team to hold me back.
Before making a decision, I ask myself, "is it free?". In other words, do I have anything to lose?
Example, if enemy bot is overextended, and I'm primed for a gank that literally cannot go wrong- then it's free and I'm doing it. You will be amazed at how many free kills and objectives the enemy team will give you.
It's not to say I don't take risks. But I am ALL about minimizing my risks. I can promise you that if I were that Jinx, I would not only have refused to follow them, I also would have pinged "DANGER", and typed in chat "no, too risky". This would have a chance to influence my team to back off also.

That is definitely not the problem. I have reached diamond many times and with many accounts, sometimes with up to 30 consecutive games won. Most games are lost in the first 10 minutes and there is no way to win. Sometimes I have chained multiple games with a 0/40 team. In these cases, the only way to rank up the account is to duo with another diamond. In the case of someone who is really silver, earning 10lp, how is he supposed to rank up? Because it also doesn't improve when playing with mediocre players every game. My advice is to have multiple accounts, to try to get progress without getting stuck in an elo. Example: I've had a good run with this account, so I'm still with this account.

The only thing I took from this video is that I now understand why when I land my 5 man Kennen R my team just watches stepping back and forth indecisive if they should follow that up because it is "not safe" unless they can secure kills with 100 dmg.
Or why my 9/1 adc does not go for a single aa when I engage the enemy adc and land my cc combo but instead tries to hit his poke ability max range and walk back to tower.
"play safe" is a good advice for people who perma seek trades and int no matter what. It goes the other way around when they have rescources but NEVER use them and it happens just as often.
