This will be a Summer-type of weather pattern upcoming later in the week and next weekend with heat building across the Plains and into parts of the Midwest with rounds of showers and thunderstorms every couple of days for parts of the Midwest. Right now, I wouldn't say an all-day washout is expected but next weekend could potentially be active with thunderstorms for Central Iowa. An hour here or an hour there. I wouldn't rule out severe weather either but that is very uncertain as next Saturday is still several days away. My advice to you is I wouldn't cancel any outdoor plans right now. Just make sure to stay updated on the weather for outdoor plans as next weekend gets closer. I'll keep you updated!
