      @@evanq4366 nope. That is the narrative they want us to think. The south was fighting for its freedoms/rights

      @@evanq4366 granted, slavery was intertwined with the war but it is not the main reason that either side began the war. It was about so much more. It was the war of northern aggression. And the second war for independence. Unfortunately the freedom fighters lost that one... if you dont believe me, just look at you pay stubb and see how much taxes they take out. Who do you really work for??? Slavery never ended, it was perfected.

    These hillbilly have done good. When i was a kid we played around the jail, our uncle was the sheriff, My mom was a Hatmaker , they are buried near Jacksboro, I will never move back there. A lot of them are on drugs

    I remember when nothing was there . One gas station before ya got to LA Follette

      I remember when Jacksboro was a booming little town before they built the four-lane you had to go through Jacksboro to get to Knoxville.Across from the courthouse, there was a furniture store, a café, gas station. Fox, Motel and restaurant,Beauty shop and Jacksboro high school and Elementary/ Jr. High. I’m sure there was more businesses. That’s just the ones I can remember.
