It's a great song, but the one I always recommend is "You Only Live Once" which is not only one of the coolest rock songs ever, but also one of the coolest videos.
@@whataboutme7174 ode to the mets is a banging song Ngl it’s not really rock tho, it’s more like a slow building sorrow kind of feel and it’s beautiful
My fav Strokes song is “Someday” the lyrics are just the best!! “I'm working so I won't have to try so hard Tables, they turn sometimes Oh, someday No, I ain't wasting no more time” ❤️
Love how Jay was not only listening to the song but also laughing and explaining what is happening on stage. He has such infectious sense of fun. I totally love this song.
They changed the game when they came "out of the blue" in the early 2Ks. Their song called "Heart In A Cage" has a powerful guitar riff, dope drums, groovy bassline, and hopeless vocals and lyrics. The video is excellent as well. Take a look at that, I'm sure it will blow your mind at the first second. Cheers!
That whole record 'Is this it' is totally amazing. Every single track is top notch. I would highly recommend it. I loved every second of it. I don't have 'favourites ' on it because my gosh it is so truly incredibly amazing.
I'm glad you finally made it back to The Strokes. They are one of my all time favorite bands. You really can't go wrong with anything off their first 5 albums. Their new album is a bit different but it's growing on me. They way Julian sings now compared to back then is very different. His singing range has progressed massively and he sounds more polished. I'd recommend "The adults are talking" from their newest album. As much as I love their early stuff, his vocals on the new album are arguably some of his best.
Love this song. I remember hearing it on the radio and I instantly loved it. I remember wishing I would hear it more often but honestly it didn't get much air play before it was gone. Unrelated to this group but you should do a reaction to Matt Maeson's song Hallucinogenics.
No joke. I've heard people use their band name as a way to say things are cool. It's been years since anyones music or stage preformance was that cool.
I miss the days of indie/garage rock dominating the charts. I was 7 when this song came out, and it was just when I was starting to pay more attention to music, so bands like The Strokes, The Libertines, Franz Ferdinand, The Hives, The Coral, The Fratellis, Arctic Monkeys, Razorlight etc. were a big part of my childhood. In fact the first album I ever bought was Franz Ferdinand's self-titled debut, with some of the money I got on my 10th birthday.
The Strokes! 🎸 post punk, indie, garage rock. Many good songs from them from the '90s and '00s. This song has a Tom Petty feeling lol. They were influenced by him I think. Check out similar bands like Gang of Four, Interpol, Bloc Party, Artic Monkeys later.
Other (genre-crossing) bangers are "heart in a cage" (strokes) and "instant crush" (julian and daft punk). As you enjoy raspy soulful voices i really URGE you to listen to "iron sky" (Abbey Road Live Session) by Paolo Nutini. You will love it, I promise!!!
Lead singer is every body loves Raymond's twin brother interesting fictional fact.It helped kick Stat his pop career. When he threw the Mike stand he was angry with Raymond at the time but they kissed and made up tho in the hospital.
Dude, you need to listen to Julian Casablancas’(the singer of The Strokes) other band called The Voidz. Their discography is quite the experience and I wish I could go back to hearing most of the songs again. I was truly changed after listening to some of their work and remember being blown away by some of the lyrics and themes. Nothing is like it.
You should check out July Talk -Picturing Love. You won’t believe the voice that comes out of that man. It just doesn’t match!!! I freaked out the first time I saw him. Heard the sound in the radio and pictured someone completely different. Check it out.
I say you listen to bad decisions or the adults are talking by the strokes... both amazing and catchy songs that are actually quite modern (came out in 2020) as compared to the two tracks you've listened to which are from the early 2000s
Ok I love your guy's reactions and I used to drop comments every day requesting like a specific 3 or 4 songs.....still haven't gotten to it yet so this isn't a request this time, this is me begging for one song from you guys....please please choose between these 2 videos if you really like Heart or Pink Floyd.....Mona Lisa's and Mad Hatters by Heart alive in seattle, or, maybe one of the best performances of all time, Pink Floyd finally reuniting Live from Live 8 2005 doing Comfortably Numb. PLEASE PLEASE
I would also like to see your reaction on this song by Billy Joel - a matter of trust - beautiful song and fun, I love your program and reactions you are a good boy.
It's a great song, but the one I always recommend is "You Only Live Once" which is not only one of the coolest rock songs ever, but also one of the coolest videos.
I second this
I third this. & Ode to the Mets for something more recent
@@whataboutme7174 ode to the mets is a banging song Ngl it’s not really rock tho, it’s more like a slow building sorrow kind of feel and it’s beautiful
@@iamgoose1106 I agree, Ode also has one of the coolest videos. I also really like the Adults are Talking song and video.
@@speedyhamburger I fourth this
My fav Strokes song is “Someday” the lyrics are just the best!!
“I'm working so I won't have to try so hard
Tables, they turn sometimes
Oh, someday
No, I ain't wasting no more time” ❤️
One of my all time favourites!
Strokes are killer!! "In spaceships, they won't understand" I'm hesitant to share a French band, Phoenix. 1901, Litzomania. Bangers!
im glad you went for it anyway, even though you hesitated.
“Someday”, “the adults are talking”, “you only live once”, “new York city cops”. Your pick, but more strokes, please. Always more strokes.
Always more strokes
Love how Jay was not only listening to the song but also laughing and explaining what is happening on stage. He has such infectious sense of fun. I totally love this song.
I was so obsessed with Strokes, I loved their "dirty" distorted sound!! early 2000's indie and rock scene was popping both in US and UK!!!
POPPING!! So much fun. Most fun of my life 💁🏽♀️
They changed the game when they came "out of the blue" in the early 2Ks.

I honestly believe heart in a cage isone of their underrated songs
He records his vocals through a practice bass amp in studio to get that lofi 60’ garage sound , that’s his sound .🤘✌️❤️🇨🇦
Great band and song. Check out “Someday” and “Hard to Explain” from the same album. Really the whole album is excellent.
That whole record 'Is this it' is totally amazing. Every single track is top notch. I would highly recommend it. I loved every second of it. I don't have 'favourites ' on it because my gosh it is so truly incredibly amazing.

Their debut album, which this is off of, is legendary. Every song is great! I hope to hear more from them on this channel.
Love this song. I remember hearing it on the radio and I instantly loved it. I remember wishing I would hear it more often but honestly it didn't get much air play before it was gone.
Unrelated to this group but you should do a reaction to Matt Maeson's song Hallucinogenics.
It NEVER gets old!...
Probably because it ALWAYS sounded old anyway, but this level of cool is HARD to find nowadays! 😎
No joke. I've heard people use their band name as a way to say things are cool. It's been years since anyones music or stage preformance was that cool.
This song was everywhere back in 2001-2002.
I miss the days of indie/garage rock dominating the charts. I love this song, always go jogging to it . Because people don't understand , I'm walking out that door ya.
Listen to the Postmodern Jukebox version of this. They do it as ragtime and it's fantastic!
How the f*** is this song 21 years old... I remember storming the Student Union karaoke with this when it was new out...
One of the strongest debut albums from any band, every song is playlist level.
It’s about time you did the strokes again . Thank you.
On another note.... How much fun would it be to watch Jay while watching the official vid for "Hard to Explain"?! 😎🤣
Lead singer is every body loves Raymond's twin brother interesting fictional fact.It helped kick Stat his pop career. When he threw the Mike stand he was angry with Raymond at the time but they kissed and made up tho in the hospital.
It's crazy, but I LOVE this guy! Check out..Julian Casablancas
Left and Right
11th Dimension
This is so hot. Still listening in 2023 . No one comes close to the talent and style of these five incredible musicians. .
Love them! Their raw old school British punk rock is so great!!
Dude, you need to listen to Julian Casablancas’(the singer of The Strokes) other band called The Voidz. If you're on Julian Casablancas, he did an awesome song with Daft Punk called instant crush, you should check it out!
Another great band with julian casablanca is The Voidz, i recommend you to try "Did My Best" ! :)
Heart in a Cage is another awesome song of theirs ❤
have to watch The Strokes performance of 'take it or leave it' on letterman!! Incredible. This band fully embodies pre 9/11 New York. Too Cool.
Epic song!! He simply doesn’t gaf anymore and wants her gone. 😆
Heart in a cage
Juicebox
Reptilia
you only live once
Love this one! And always love your reactions too 😊
I have a request from 1997. Finley Quaye - Even After All.
Also Blue Boy - Remember me. Original 12 inch.
Fun fact: This song became popular after 9/11 because of the uplifting tone.

Waaay off topic but you should totally do Last Night by Az Yet please!
A stone-cold indie classic!
I never heard this song but I feel like maybe I heard it in a movie or something? Interesting song.
"The Adults are Talking" by them is amazing.
It amazes me the variety of music you love.
Keep up good work
Best indie garage band late 90s-early '00s imo. The Modern Age still a favorite track for me.
I say you listen to bad decisions or the adults are talking by the strokes... both amazing and catchy songs that are actually quite modern (came out in 2020) as compared to the two tracks you've listened to which are from the early 2000s
I love the strokes🤘 they give me a old school vibe 💃🕺💃🕺
Ahahaha yes, the rock band that helped keep rock relevant through the 2000's. The strokes are magical, try juice box that's a very interesting listen
Sounds great for a live performance.
'Hard to explain' is my favourite Strokes song, but there's a lot of great songs of theirs.
Same intro as Tom Petty’s American Girl, Tom was fine with it though, Great song
We like it , like it, like it...Yes.
One of my favorite groups of all time!!✌️😊
This was the first Strokes song I ever heard, and oh man, I was hooked !!

Totally unrelated, but you should react to will smith’s lost and found album
Meatloaf/Jim Steinman’s masterpiece is called “For Crying Out Loud”, it’s from the “Bat Out Of Hell” album.
Please react. Thanks 🙏🏻
Great band so many decent songs to check out!
Always sounds like a cross between early 1960s Kinks and mash-up of several UK punk bands from late 70s.
Hard To Explain by The Strokes is a great song and video is pretty fun
Man, the Strokes always do it for me. Takes me back to my HS/College days.
Check out their song Someday, great video and song
