    Ingredients
    Crust
    2 3/4 cups (390 g) chocolate cookie crumbs
    2 Tbsp (25 g) packed light brown sugar
    1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
    1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter, melted
    Cheesecake Layer
    1 pkg (8 oz/250 g) cream cheese, at room temperature
    1⁄3 cup (70 g) granulated sugar
    1 tsp ground cinnamon
    1/4 tsp ground cloves
    1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
    1 large egg, at room temperature
    1/2 cup (125 mL) pure pumpkin purée
    Pumpkin Pie Layer
    2 cups (500 mL) pure pumpkin purée
    1/2 cup (100 g) packed light brown sugar
    1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar
    1 tsp ground cinnamon
    1/4 tsp ground cloves
    1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
    3 large eggs, at room temperature
    1 cup (250 mL) whipping cream
    Sweetened whipped cream, for décor (optional)
    Directions
    1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a 9-inch (23 cm) springform pan.
    2. For the crust, stir the cookie crumbs with the brown sugar and cinnamon and then stir in the melted butter until evenly combined. Press into the bottom and all the way up the sides of the pan. Bake for 10 minutes (no change will be noticeable). Let cool on a wire rack while you make the filling. Leave the oven on.
    3. For the cheesecake layer, beat the cream cheese until smooth (by hand is easy enough) and then beat in the sugar, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. Switch to a whisk and whisk in the egg, followed by the pumpkin purée.
    4. Scrape the batter into the cooled crust and bake for 30 minutes, until the cheesecake no longer jiggles in the centre. While it bakes, prepare the pumpkin pie layer. Whisk the pumpkin purée with both sugars and then whisk in the cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. Whisk in the eggs and then the 1 cup (250 mL) whipping cream. Once the cheesecake layer has baked for 30 minutes, remove the pan from the oven and gently pour the pumpkin pie filling over the cheesecake-it will fill the pan right to the top.
    5. Return the pan to the oven and bake for 50 to 60 minutes more, until only the centre of the pie shows signs of jiggling. Let cool in the pan on a wire rack to room temperature, up to 4 hours. Chill the cooled pie, uncovered, in the fridge overnight to set the filling.
    6. If you wish to decorate the pie, remove it from the pan and carefully slide it onto a cake stand or a platter. Scoop the whipped cream into a piping bag fitted with a plain or star tip and pipe a crown just around the top of the pie or simply dollop the whipped cream in the centre. Chill until ready to serve.

    I make this pie today. Surprise for my daughter coz she loves pumpkin. Tomorrow she came home after 6 months University in Sweden.     Wow!! This recipe was easy and delicious. Made this last night for Canadian Thanksgiving weekend 🍁🇨🇦 here for my family. Only substitution was using graham crust instead of chocolate cookie crust. Already planning on making this again on request and at Christmas holidays.

    Hi Anna! Thank you so much for this recipe. I've made it for this year's Thanksgiving dinner with family. Everyone loved it! The filling was perfect! I actually made it twice. The first time, I baked it at lower temperature because my oven tends to be hotter than set temperature. The second time, I baked it at 350 degrees F. A quick question to you. How can I prevent the crust from burning while ensuring the pumpkin pie bakes completely? Would wrapping the whole pan in foil help? Will it take longer to bake if that is so? I hope to hear from you. Thank you so much again.

    Wow! Was this ever a huge hit at Thanksgiving this year! I was a little bit nervous making it... I was worried the crust would crumble once it was released from the springform pan but it held together beautifully. Many oohs and aahs and excitement from the Thanksgiving guests and there was almost nothing left by the end of the evening.

    I know this is something I will have to make this for the holidays...oh man Anna I think maybe u have outdone yourself! Lol...I think I will have to experiment with this....just to make sure I can do it? Yum Anna! Thank u! I use a juice glass to press the crust ... it really gets into the areas around and presses the crust nice and smooth and no tears...

    Hi Anna. I made your Cinderella Pumpkin Pie Cheesecake for Thanksgiving and I was disappointed at myself. I bought the Oreo cookies to use the cookie part for your crust recipe. I followed all directions but my crust came out bitter and hard. YIKES!!! Any suggestions? What chocolate cookie crumbs did you use?

    Firstly, it was a lot of cookie crumbs for the crust so I suggest you dial the quantity down, or else it'll be thick and unpleasant to bite in. Secondly, my eggs were 60g each which turned out quite eggy and rubbery almost, especially the cheesecake layer even though I mixed everything by hand briefly so there wasn't much air being incorporated in the batter. Maybe it was just me so I wouldn't blame the recipe, but I'd love to hear out more about you guys who have given it a try!

    It looks impressive! I wish I knew what chocolate and pumpkin tasted like together. I would think they would compete with each other. They don't seem to me to be natural complementary flavors, but there must be other crusts that could be used as alternatives.

      Recipes are really only guidelines. You can substitute the chocolate for, perhaps, graham cracker or maybe animal crackers. Look for flavors that won't compete w/the pumpkin. I've never had chocolate with pumpkin, either, but it is interesting enough to maybe give it a try.

      Yes.I was thinking maybe some type of graham cracker crust or a chopped nut with dates crust. I'm going to make a raw/no bake pumpkin pie one of these days (without dairy). I'm sticking more with the cleaner ingredients these days. I think I probably wouldn't even attempt this dessert without first being able to taste one someone else had made... and it would have to be the best tasting thing I'd ever put in my mouth for me to go to the trouble to make it considering it has so many rich ingredients.. @@janetmoore1124

      Chocolate crust with pumpkin is delicious! We love the two together. We top it with a caramel and chocolate drizzle too. It's amazing and everyone loves it. Give it a try.
