My teammates got the school record with the signed baton in the 4x800 in 9:08 and the conference record in the 4x400 in 3:42

Pretty crazy that winning relay team basically ran the equivalent of 18 year old Hobbs Kesler's recent 1500 meter 3:34 time.
Not that the 4 are anywhere near Kesler’s current level but they’ve had also just ran an all out 5k during filming of this video.

Yeah I was kinda noticing that too I think it's his longs strides that give that effect
I don't know why, but you always look slow on video. My best is a 53.4, and I look painfully slow in the video.

Captain Tom with a 63 second 400 meter! For a 40 year old That's really good. I bet if he was fresh without running 5,000 meters before he could go under 60! Lots of respect 😤😉
I'm pretty sure he went sub-60 in the 400m event from earlier in the series.

I ran this race for the first time in a track meet and it was my favorite event and have ran it at every track meet since. It is very hard, but very fun and entertaining.

The 5000m was the published season finale, but we always had in the back of our mind that we couldn't end a season without a 4x400!

cool stuff...big props to Captain Tom....great form on that 400. The 400 is a great barometer of fitness as it's equal parts speed, strength and endurance.

Arthur with a 56ish second lap was incredible. I went back & watched it again. But your commentary then about how he is a decathlete and 100 meter runner ignores that decathlon includes 400 & 1500. I get that it was for drama but don't sleep on decathletes in a 400.

That's true. Hicham El Gerrouj set an incredibly high bar of 3:43. One thing that might have slowed these guys down a little was having just run a 5000m before this

I have to run a 7 minute mile in about 2 months, right now I'm doing it in 10 minutes. I live in an area where the temperature at night is around 30 degree centigrade, whereas the temperature will probably be around 40 centigrade when I have to run a 7 minute mile for a physical exam. Should I train in warm clothes at night to acclimitize my body to the heat? Thank you.
