Yo Maaan.. I'm from Bulgaria. You made me cry a little bit because I'm living in Canada, Toronto now and I can't wait to go home. Bulgaria is the most beautiful, peaceful, amazing and free place, where everything is cheap and delicious compared to North America. I've been in Punta Cana, I've been in Cuba but nowhere is as near as beautiful as some spots on the Black Sea. Me and my husband are going back to Europe in couple of moths. Next time when you visit definitely let me know and we are going to show you Bulgaria even in a nicer way 😊🙃🌍🌎🌏🇧🇬🇨🇦🇺🇸

Glad you are enjoying it in Bulgaria. But damn, I am so sad you didn't climb all the way to the top, you would have had a nice view of all the 7 Rila lakes in one picture, it's breathtaking! There is a lot more you can discover in Bulgaria, the mountains, the beaches, the caves (more than 3500), waterfalls but the best way to experience the country is by traveling with bulgarians who will show you the hidden beautiful places :D and not just the centers of some towns but the actual nature. Hope you have a great time!

Theres "jeeps (Small SUV's) you can go up there too.The drivers are freaking nuts driving fast through some "paths" with huge rocks, that nothing else can ride there.
Bro this is so freakin' cool. In January me and my cousin we were on the same exact place that you and your friends been. It is such an amazing place to be. And when I was there, there was so much snow it was snowing as well and we were on the lift. It was such an amazing experience if I have the time soon when I go home I will do it again.

I’m in varna at the moment and so far I’m loving it. Bulgaria is a beautiful place with lots of historical places and buildings. There are lots of stray cats everywhere though, lol.

You missed the best view ... There are two more lakes at higher ground. But there probably is too much snow right now for you to climb with no equipment. And usually there are free horses walking around, which i did not see ...

Wait till you see the seaside! There are places there that are so beautiful you almost can't believe is true. You need some native falks to show you the real non touristy spots.
Highly recommend you visit Plovdiv, you will get a taste of real Bulgarian culture (It is also currently the European Capital of Culture for 2019). Maybe even visit the etno village of Etara. Belogradchik is also nice but probably too far off from where you want to be.

As a native I recommend that you count on your credit card mainly in Sofia and the bigger cities, not so much outside, as most rural areas do not take cards. Have a nice stay here ^^

Before they built the lift (a few years ago), you had to actually walk all the way from the bottom to the top. I've done it:)

You should visit Plovdiv which is currently European capital of culture, you really won't regret that.
