Thank you very much for the many comments and views. I'm a huge fan of Dream Theater and Mike Portnoy himself. he inspired me to teach myself how to play drums and start my own band. The band doesn't exist anymore, but it was one of the best evenings of my life to finally see him play live and together with Dream Theater. So Thank you very much Guys 🤘🥁
*FOR ANYONE INTERESTED IN THE ORCHESTRAL OVERTURE AT THE START OF THE SECOND SET* it was composed and produced by me (Joseph Stevenson) and supervised by the band. We will be posting some behind the scenes stuff on Instagram about how we made it in the coming weeks. Thanks so much for all the kind words about it so far so far, so so lovely to see such positive reactions to it! You guys are the fucking best ❤️❤️

Labrie sounds night and day from London. This proves that he can sing well. Maybe London had opening night issues. He struggles on parts of other songs but never seems to figure it out. He needs a serious vocal coach on the road with him that can help him get the heavy and high parts figured out.
So glad James got his voice. This was much much better than London. Defo sound issues in London with drums as well. Not MP just the mixing. Well done JLB 👍
Independentemente da condição da voz do Labrie acho q todos merecem respeito. Já alcançaram o nível máximo de performance. Deixe agora se aposentarem e deixar os fans felizes em ouvir tocar! Labrie cantando muito!
Bouncing off some previous comments, I think it'd be a cool contrast to have James in a lower register while the rest of the music remains as is. Bruce and Iron Maiden managed it. I think James and Dream Theater can, too. No shame in that. It is what it is, let it be, sing where you are. Nothing wrong with that. Mind, I'm thinking mostly of the super high pitch songs from 90s DT.
they were great w/ mangini and im /really/ curious to see how much of his stuff portnoy will be able to do, but man it sounds like theyre having way more fun with him back.
Band's breathing seems different without backing tracks and click. I personally enjoy doing some gigs with the click + backing track for confidence, but playing it organically is a completely different experience.
damn, I have been writing this under any and all dream theater videos lately but he is home. This is so wonderful to me. Wounds can heal and there is always hope. No shade on Mangini or anything I have nothing against him, but this is the dream theater I was missing.
@@elvancor dunno, most of my favorite singers also kinda suck live. The guys in Mastodon aren’t too great except for Brann, Mr Akerfeldt from Opeth has some pretty bad growls compared to his 2000s days now, only good singer live that I like is Maynard from TOOL. So i ain’t blaming LaBrie much anymore lol
@@der_fisch_42 Sorry, but that's bizarre. I point out that professional singers usually don't suck at singing. You complain about one band where not every insturmentalist is also a great singer, another band where an instrumentalist who sings very well slacks on the growls, and mention a straight up singer who sings well. But good for you that Labrie doesn't bother you.
This shows that Labrie is still great for songs that don't need much high notes, like Panic Attack. If he focuses more on this range of vocals, he'll not strugle and we'll apreciate it more imo.
Essas músicas mais baixas, que não exigem muitos agudos e gritos, o LaBrie ainda vai bem. Não da pra ele cantar mais under a glass moon e musicas do images and the words
I'm 90% convinced that something was up with James' throat the first show. He was constantly going for water, seemed out of breath a lot and struggled even with the mid-range vocals. Maybe a chest cold? He sounds *so* much better here.
Uber Eats Musichall Berlin Now that's a depressing venue name if I ever saw one. And Marillion were once billed as Low Fat Yogurts live at The Crooked Billet.
I'm convinced this is as good an example of why they've brought MP back into the fold. No click track sterility - he just instinctively knows the pocket that each DT song sits in and his singing gives LaBrie some much needed help. When he inevitably misses the pitch by a mile and a half MP gets him back to where he should be. Trying to do images and words stuff comes out like a strangulated hernia, but this sounds half decent.
I understand the high expectation of the fans for the kickoff of this tour in London and their disappointment because of Labrie's poor performance. However, I think Labrie was ill on the first night in London, or at any rate not in his best condition. Here he looks much better!
To let LaBrie sound properly, they should lower the tune. Otherwise, if at the tour start he misses so much, what will it be further. Here, Portnoy and Petrucci saved him, but they cannot do it all the time.
Ok, LaBrie sounds better with Mike's support. Not good, still out of tune in many parts, but it was not the utter embarrassment of the UK show. Less strained and more controlled. I would say this song sounded like a good vocalist's fairly bad night but forgivable. I just listened to Metropolis pt 1 on this show and it sounds exactly like the disaster of UK, I'm afraid. Hats off to Mike singing the entire song thou! Not the best singer but what a great musician overall!!
James LaBrie was catastrophic in Berlin, he sang wrong several times and is just old and can't sing high notes. He is next to a band that plays very professionally but just poorly. I was disappointed in him!
petrucci was doin it for the time mangini was gone and he was pretty rough too tbh. Portnoy used to be great at it, and I think it's way too high in the mix so hopefully he gets back into it

James sound good
With mike portnoy in backing vocals
When?
Five people on stage, four of them sound good.
Compared with the London show James sounds fantastic here. Maybe just needed a couple of shows to get into it.

they just need to admit it's time to tune down a half step or so on some songs like so many other bands when the singer starts aging
@Chest3rTheSquirrel mejor bajar un tono y medio o dos para sentir la diferencia, eso le va a ayudar mucho
I was there!! it was amazing, James was muuuuuuch better than expected, such a great experience!
Ohhh Yes. Was an incredible Sound. Much better as in the Uber Arena. I'am a huge Fan of Mike Portnoy and His Drumming. It's Mindblowing
So glad James got his voice. This was much much better than London. Defo sound issues in London with drums as well. Not MP just the mixing. Well done JLB 👍
JM also hit the intro cleaner this time :)
I was at London and while I enjoyed the show, James sounds waaaay better here.
So Happy to see some love for James❤️
He sounds great 😊
😅😅
Labries Vocal sound was fresh and jung, but more important: this show was completely live, no click track no backings from tape, we enjoyed it!
i guarantee theres a click for their own ears
@christopherlandry5712 seems like some moments have click but some don't. I would guarantee myung man had click during his intro here for sure
What's wrong with using a click track live? Lots of pro bands do.
Labrie sounds good.
Yeah, missing more than half of notes.

They bumped into each other at the London show while they were both trying to cross the stage. Maybe he did it on purpose this time as a joke?!
James is crushing it!
James still sounds good in the lower register...
Great performance by james
Even that vibrato is sounding easy and good tonight ❤
Damn james, nice
With Portnoy's background vocal, this song finally return to its true form, whether you agree or not
Mike actually ruined this song for me. He's so off key it's nauseating 😢

So relieved that James sounds decent here, haha.
Seeing this on Friday in Milan. James sounds so good here. I cannot wait
That snare drum on the double kick side is cutting through.
Ohhh Yes. The Signatur-Snares of Portnoy are a blast 🤘🤯
So sick seeing the crowd fist pumping to the beat in the intro

James does sound better than in London
James sounds pretty close to 2014 in this. Nothing like the old days of course but the best we can hope for
The crowd is almost asleep. Gotta go crazy to this one.

No shade on Mangini or anything I have nothing against him, but this is the dream theater I was missing.
If JLB always sang like this, no fan should have the right to complain. Almost flawless in comparison to his London O2 effort
Does being a DT fan require not knowing literally any other singers?

What's JLB doing at 7:10?
He’s taking the piss. He fucked up that last part in a performance from 2015.
Looks like his 3d kick is 20 inch
Yeah it's always like that on the right side, except for his albino monster that the right side setup was inspired by Bonham kit.

Rushing a little bit
James doesn't sound horrible? 😳
Voice is dire
Nonsensical solos of Rudess. He's really without talent. Moore and Sherinian were way better.
Agree with you. His only solid set of solos was on Metropolis 2.
Uber Eats music hall??? That's the worse most dystopian name I've heard for a place meant for shows and "art"
