I’ve been told in Illinois schools to NOT STATE a specific tool such as “star test used “ because not all districts have the same tools and resources so we are to use a general term such as the district reading assessment for cbm measures etc.
In my opinion both are correct. It is better to use generic terms when possible because it allows for more vagueness instead of a specific term that could be interpreted incorrectly. Plus, those that are grading the tests aren't necessarily aware of every educational term and are mostly grading you on your grammar and if you are hitting key points in the rubric. Thanks for watching.

This was SO SO helpful. I am taking the 5691 (ECE Special Ed.) exam for the first time next week and this was wonderful to use as a recap. I've studied from several resources and practice tests I've found online. There are 2 questions that I am still pondering and I'm wondering if you'd be willing to share what you would answer and why? Maybe this will be helpful for others, too. 1) One question mentioned that a student's parents couldn't make it to the IEP meeting and asked for an acceptable 'alternative'. The options were to have the meeting take place without the parents, ensuring all of the professionals attend the meeting, putting the meeting off until the parents can attend or doing the meeting via phone conference. I automatically took having the meeting without the parents out of the possible answers. I also thought ensuring all of the professionals attend the meeting is not correct because from my understanding, this should be happening regardless - right? This leaves doing the conference via phone or waiting until the parents can attend. Now, because the question asked for an acceptable 'alternative' I am thinking that 'holding the conference by phone' is the most logical answer. What do you think? Also, is an IEP meeting permitted to be held in a different way than in-person? 2) Another question listed possible answers choices and asked which one is a 'procedural safeguard' under IDEA. I narrowed this down to 2 answer choices: A: The IEP needs to be reviewed every year B: Parents have a right to access educational records This one was confusing for me because both answers are TRUE. However, after watching your video and seeing that parents having access to educational records is part of the procedural safeguards, I am thinking that is the correct answer. THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!!! :-) *These are not questions from the exam. I have not taken the exam yet. They are just hypotheticals floating around on the internet.
Part of the Principles of IDEA, parents must attend. S if they cannot, move the meeting. You have to make every attempt to get the parents there. Procedural safeguards are all about parent and student rights. These are outlined in our book. Do you have that? navaed.com/collections/praxis-special-education-exams You can get the book digitally, which is emailed to you immediately after purchase. Good luck!

Hi I wanted to know it there is a pdf available for sp Ed 5354. I recently had a hysterectomy surgery and cannot hold these heavy books. A pdf would really help in my situation. Thanks
Our study guides are fully aligned with the skills and categories assessed on the Praxis Special Education tests. It has information and sample practice test questions that cover everything on the test. Many of the questions are scenario-based, meaning you will have to identify best practices to use given a special education classroom situation. But fear not! Our study guide covers it all. Can you tell me the difference between 5543 and 5354? I passed the 5543 to graduate but my state changed its requirements and will not accept the 5543 in place of the 5354.
The only difference is that the 5543 contains the constructed response questions, otherwise they are the exact same test. That is interesting that they won't accept your test because it is the more difficult of the two. Thanks for watching.
@@KathleenJasperEdD Thank you for the quick response. I passed the 5354 today but it is truly frustrating that it was the same. The Department of Education would not budge on accepting the more difficult exam. They would not even give me a reason why they would not accept it. They just kept saying "it is the requirement." Thanks for all of the helpful videos!
I believe you are incorrect in saying that parents can simply decide to forgo testing and agree to special education services. At least, that's not the case in CT. All special education services must be justified by timely assessments.

What did you use to study?
Hi I'm from Aberdeen MS I'm studying for the Special Education Praxis is there a scenario study guide?
Our study guides are fully aligned with the skills and categories assessed on the Praxis Special Education tests. It has information and sample practice test questions that cover everything on the test. Many of the questions are scenario-based, meaning you will have to identify best practices to use given a special education classroom situation. But fear not! Our study guide covers it all.

I have to take the 5545… is it similar to the 5354 test? I would like to find out what study guide to purchase?
It is definitely similar, and our book 5543 will help. HOWEVER, you will have some specific questions on the profound disabilities that may not be covered completely in the 5543. The specs and blueprint for 5545 and 5543 are identical though. So, you may want to use our book as a resource. Here's the link. Get 5543; it has the writing. navaed.com/collections/praxis-special-education-exams

Florida uses FTCE
Can someone pls tell me how do I buy her study guide please? ☺️
