I think it would be interesting if you tried to make the most intense rollercoaster within reasonable limits. I'm talking Skyrush levels of airtime and I305 levels of positive G's and whippy transitions. Something like that would never be built and might not be enjoyable but it might be a good excercise.

I gotta say, as someone who was intensely into coasters and nolimits from about 2002-2006 and then tuned out for 15 years and just came back to it recently, it's crazy to see the quality and level of analysis in videos like these, or in Nolimits itself, and just the fact that all these things are still around and thriving. Good stuff

The new style Intamin seats and restraints are second to none imo. The lap bar is super comfortable, not intrusive at all, the seat is a great shape around your backside, but there's no shoulder support which means your top half is still free to move around side to side. Absolutely perfect.

How to make the world's best coaster: Get rmc to redesign their trains without seatbelts or shin guards, build a ride with the length of steel vengence and the variety of elements like gwazi/Hakugei. No midcourse needed and it should have a pretty decent prelift. I think a launched lift hill would do wonders. Mayvbe if rmc went even crazier, they could design a train with spinning cars similar to a mack extreme spinner.

-start with short dark ride part
-swing launch (with airtime hump) into 60m top hat with 95° drop
    -twisted airtime hill
    -airtime stall
    -airtime hill into dive loop
    -zero g roll
    -speed curves with wave turn
    -outerbanked turn into triple down
    -midcourse break
-launched lift hill (like Maverik but faster) up to 30m into a huge extended hangtime dive loop.
    -double up airtime hill
    -non inverting loop
    -stengel dive
-barrel roll up into outerbanked turn
-triple up then airtime hill down
    -150° spike
-final break & turntable back to station

  • @mynameiskrysta
    @mynameiskrysta 2 года назад +2

I mean it’s a great coaster but it’s just made up of things that have already existed, which kinda just makes it a good but generic intamin launch coaster
i’m sure it’s possible to make the actual perfect coaster but i don’t think the criteria would be nearly as simple as “i like it when they’re intense, i like this coaster type, and also these elements are good so that’s what makes a perfect coaster” and tbh I don’t think the perfect coaster would be that intense or whippy, just enough to be entertaining to those who are desensitized to it. And i also think slight changes in criteria or priority would change it wildly in size shape length elements intensity and layout, not to mention the psychological effect that many rollercoaster layouts (usually accidentally) have when riding
If we are to prioritize intensity i honestly would say something very similar to maverick, maybe with a little more uniqueness and variety in the first half. (And higher capacity)
But if the goal is to get everyone to agree that it’s the best coaster, even people who are terrified of coasters could get over their fear just by riding it, i would say take the general layout idea of millennium force, as a smooth b&m giga, with graceful transitions that aren’t as snappy as a normal b&m giga, a little more entertainment and airtime in the middle,
and also a color scheme that isn’t another fucking generic dull blue and gray rollercoaster lmao

Superb analysis and design. My only "complaint" is that it is a bit too fast for my tastes. I prefer a slightly more "leisurely" ride ... a bit more ... tentative (?). I know it's a roller coaster, but I'd prefer if everything did not shoot by in a blur: I like to anticipate as well as feel the ride.

aight so someone needs to explain this part to me and it might sound confusing but i shall try my best. From time stamp 8:25 to 8:41 theres the swirls then he reaches the top and rolls back down. After rolling back down at 8:48 he hits that initial turn but some how at 8:54 he hits another rollback to where they now go forward to go over the hill at 9:05. Where did the rest of the track go? It is like all the turns and spins disappeared. Usually I wouldnt care but its bothering me that my brain cant figure it out.
Edit: I have realized this is just a made up concept of a roller coaster. at 8:33 at the right time you can see the second rollback is completely detached from the ride and once its past it basically gets added to the coaster. Very cool concept but impossible IRL up to that point in the ride I imagine. Unless there was some sort of mechanic that attaches that part of the track once passed. Would be dangerous tho. Idk if im still wrong here lol
