I don’t have this condition but even I am personally offended by the name “Atopic dirty neck” 😂
😂😂😂
Honest it does suck to hear that name.
I’ve had “dark neck” my entire adult life! My father has type 2 diabetes so looks like I will be making myself a drs appointment very soon! I love your videos! 🤍
I don't have hyperpigmintation on my neck but found this information interesting nonetheless. Thanks for all you do to help so many people with a variety of skin conditions. You're awesome! Happy Tuesday, Dr Dray! I hope you have a blessed evening. 💟
Thank you for your videos and recommendations!
Very informative video today! Thank you!❤️
I had no idea. Thank you for all of the information all of the time.
I soooo appreciate that you're willing to put forth the effort into all of these videos. When I think of your education and intellect I'm simply overwhelmed!! 😮😊
Happy Tuesday Dr Dray…see you tomorrow x💙🤩
Thank you for your videos
Thanks for this video. I have Poikiloderma.
I had hyperpigmentation on my neck after trying a body scrub/wash and Amlactin 15% cleared it up!
Which scrub did you use.
It's currently 12:21 am here in the Philippines as I'm watching this 😊
Hello and thank you as always! 💜💜💜
Good morning!
Happy Tuesday Dr Dray so excited to be here I live for this ❤️

Your lighting in this video is stellar. Would you mind sharing what you use?
Happy Tuesday! Yesterday I started reading Demon Copperhead. Such a great read, love the authors style of writing. Great way to celebrate my time after a tough accounting season. So glad you recommended this book!

@@whitneybrown4067 Thank you! You too!
I just finished the audiobook. Really good! I miss Demon. Haha.
@@pamstaub5403 I am the same way. I also will miss my favorite characters in a book!

Morning!
Estrodiol cream helped mine. It fact it’s almost gone . I would say 95% gone . I’m 57. And I had melasma for about 3 years on my neck and shoulders. About 2 years ago I started HRT replacement. So so so happy. I feel so much better and my skin looks a feels amazing.
Dr. Dray, your eyes are really pretty. ❤✨
Thanks!
I have the last condition. I use retinol which helps fade the redness but it’s still there. Don’t think I’ll ever do laser treatment. Young people please protect your neck with sunscreen as much as the face.
hope everyone has a great Tuesday xox
Happy Tuesday!
Hello Dr.Dray I have recently switched to an all fragrance free skincare routine. Do you have any recommendations for hand sanitizers. Since thats something that I constantly use and I find most of them to have fragrance in them. Much Thanks!
Hi Dr Dray, thank you for the informative video! I just wanted to ask (apologies as it is not related to the video) does tretinoin help with post inflammatory erythema? Just as I have very stubborn PIE which has not cleared up after 2+ years and I have tried various treatments for it. Thank you ✨
Thank You Dr. Dray, for this Information Always Appreciated!! Happy Tuesday, have an Amazing Day!!💕
Happy Tuesday to you Jackie! 🙂

Dr. Dray thank you for this informative video! I'm a 26F (southeast asian) and have darker lines on my neck where my skin naturally folds (almost like tech neck but also spreads to the base of my neck too). I could not figure out if any of the conditions you mentioned today match with my issue. Do you have any recommendations?
As far as i remember i have always had it. I am from south asia so hyperpigmentation is common here. I have recently started using kojic acid based product following sunscreen.hope to see some improvement
Hello Dr.Dray also another concern I have since going fragance free is that I do not like using razors since my skin is quite sentitive. Do you have any recommendations for replacing my nair or veet since they do contain fragrance in them? Much appreciated!
Thank you for your videos! I remember watching another one of your videos about redness on the upper chest and realizing - ‘hey I got that!’ LOL. I have always been good about sunscreen and I also try to buy high neck shirts for playing tennis.
Wish you would do some ‘ask anything’ videos - I got a random dime size spot on my shoulder biopsied - the nurse cut it off came back as ‘scar tissue’ (but never injured’) nurse told me it wouldn’t ’come back’ but it is raised again and more painful now sometimes than before biopsied. Not sure if there is anything I can do about it.
Love that lip gloss shade on you!
Thank you for your content. I have dry skin and need to wash often. What do you think about reviewing goat soap versus other sensitive skin cleansers from aveeno, cerave or cetaphil?
She's got an older videos talking about a goat soap bar. She seemed okay with the one she pickup which was fragrance free.
Good morning Dr Dray ❤
Morning!
Hi Dr Dray, How prevalent is hyperpigmentation on the neck (or anywhere on the skin) for females using estrogen cream topically? Also, does the likelihood of hyperpigmentation from topical estrogen use depend on a person's skin tone (similar to the overuse use of hydroquinone)?
👱🏻♀️♥️

Great to learn that cosmetics cause hyperpigmentation too due to irritation
Yes, to me happend hypermigmentation arround the eyes the year I changed my oil and water (for cleaning the face at night) and the shea butter (as cream where I have dry skin, in rest put nothing) with micellar water and face cream, received as a gift. I have a better skin now with a hidroquinone cream my dermatologist prescribed. But is more sensitive. I use Photoderm M 50+ from Bioderma, reaply daily. I wash it every 2-4 days with vergin sun-flower oil (I masage the face), then wipe out with a watered pad, then just luke warm water (the temeprature is important, not warm at al). And Avene Cicalfate+ around the eyes where is dry. In the winter I will use only a hat and in rest put nothing on my skin, wash it just with water any 3-6 days, or just when necessary. I have to leave the good natural bacteria multiply on my skin. And try to eat as healthy as possible.
@@MaraSamsara how do u remove makeup? My skin condition is different as i have acne issues so barrier is always compromised, oil cleanser also trigger my acne and cotton pads with Micellar water also irritates so much
@@memoonasaeed4408 I put cold pressed sun-flower oil in my palm, then with the fingers on my skin, masage a little, put water on the cotton pads, squeeze a little (big pads), then gently remove the oil and the pigment (Photoderm M 50+ has pigment +I use Estee Lauder Futurist Hydra Rescue 45+ on top). Then I wash with luke warm water. If I see remaining pigment, I reaply oil there. If you use warmer water it removes better the oil, but I don't want to dry my skin too much. I have mix skin. In the morning I take with my fingers oil from my forehead and put near the eyes where I have fine wrinkels. I bought Sensibio Oil Cleanser, but it dryes my skin arround the eyes too much and my skin gets red a bit, even this is too hursh.
@@memoonasaeed4408 I wrote in the comment, with oil and water. I try washing every 2-3 days. I saw a girl she said she washed her face and then put nothing on it for 30 days. Wash with water only when you feel is needed. Try this in winter, and avoid sun, use a hat, though, you don't want sun damage. She saw an improvement in her skin, less pimples.
i have hyperpigmentation due to atopic dermatites but on my arms and back what can i do to get rid of them?
I have darker lines in my lower part of the neck, i have this since I was young..the lines are obvious too..what do you think is the cause of it?
Can you do a video on skincare oxidation? Specifically I’d like to know how/if it’s safe to leave skincare on the face all day long when things like oxygen, heat and light drastically speed up oxidation, and even if it contains some antioxidants, would that be enough to prevent it from oxidizing when left on the skin exposed to the elements all day long? I can’t imagine spreading a thin layer of moisturizer on, say, a plate, leaving it there all day, and at the end of the day it still being fresh… so would this have detrimental effects to our skin?
Hi Dr. Dray! Can you please do a video on how to manage/treatment dyshidrotic eczema? My little one has this on his hands and feet? He has had a severe outbreak before and it was terrifying. Please give some tips as we've gone through so many types of steroids with docs but we know this can thin the skin. Thank you in advance
In the meantime, check Dr Dray's video, this is why you have hand excema. She talks about dyshidrotic eczema in that one.
I started using a good grade of castor oil on the neck and forearms at night and I will find out whether are not it really works as some testimonies claim! Use goes back to Roman and Egypt.
Hi Uncle Charlie! Happy Tuesday!! Are you using the castor oil for dryness or something else? I've been curious about the uses of castor oil but haven't tried it. I hope you had a nice day. Peace, joy and many blessings, my friend. 🙏🕊☕🍃
@@marylawman8603 not dryness correcting damage lol
I don't know which one I had, but I am very pale and I did have slightly darker areas of irregular shape on my neck for years. They also seemed a bit velvety compared to the surrounding skin. At some point I used a 5 % niacinamide serum on them and they miraculously disappeared within a couple of weeks.
Any tips on how to get glowy skin in the summer? Im considering using a body oil but I am not sure if it would mix well with spf and sun exposure.
I might check her video on body oil for glowing skin or do a search, dr dray glowy skin, to find videos. Others derms have similar videos as well (you could do a search, dr glowy skin summer).
I had Morpheus 8 and it helped with laugh lines but made my neck darker 😢
The melasma on my neck seems to be in love with me 🤦♀️😩😫😭.
Help, Dr. D-my sebaceous filaments won’t go away. I use salicylic acid cleanser every morning, and Neutrogena Retinol Pro every night, what else can I do? Thanks!
See my vids on sebaceous filaments
Do you have recommendations of Aloe Vera products for the face? Whenever I use the actual plant leaf I get almost no acne, but a product would be simpler to use and apparently safer
Try doing a search, dr dray aloe. There's at least one older video on it and a short.
@@db-gb5xi Thanks, I watched it, but she mostly talks about not using the aloe plant leaf in general, and her brief recommendations are for the body I think since they have fragrance and alcohol, I need it for the face since my skin is sensitive
@@CandyWorld30 In the short, she holds up the Innisfree vitalizing soothing gel with aloe (it does have fruit/plant extracts but falls under their sensitive skin line). Necessaire has a body serum but Dr Dray has said body products can be used on the face and vice versa.
As someone with tinea this is worst experience on the neck
I've been using AA and .025 Tretinoin on my neck for quite some time hoping it fades my pigmentation. The "spots" are on the sides of my neck where I used to spray perfume. And of course I wasn't using sunscreen back then, shame on me!
Wear the sunscreen 😊
Did it clear up a bit tho? I’m doing the same…haven’t seen results so far. I use sunscreen
@summocaelo5639, the one on the left has gotten lighter. The one on the right is small, but I still see it. I'd say it's working!
How often are you using Tret?
is it advisable to keep pat drying the sweat off during a workout, or just leave it be ?
Wiping it off may help reduce chaffing
kind of a cheap question, but is it safe to use a parchment paper as an oil blotter ?
I don’t think it will work
Hello Dr. ❤
I have developed melasma on the neck for over a year now before it was never dark and I've been taking care of it by applying sunscreen daily, using chemical exfoliater twice a week even using hydroquinone twice a week but it's not even fading a little bit what should I do?
I also did blood test, insulin test, liver health tests which Dr suggested me but all the reports are normal I don't even have vitamin deficiency 😂
Dear Dr Dray can taking melatonin for sleeping also trigger melasma
❤
When you do your chapters can you please use language for us normals as looking as technical terms are not understandable.
I had # 2 as a teen and adult when I was obese. Lost 200 pounds and it went away
Pimecrolimus aka elidel help with my eczema and seborrheic dermatitis a lot. Of course i had to use steroids in the beginning such as travacort (the brand name of the steroid). But indeed today's video really was helpful because it gave us a small insight to the hyper pigmentation world 😊❤. Thank you so much Doctor Andrea take care ❤.
Glad to hear this helped
Hola
Happy Tuesday
In the summer my neck and face are different colours 😂

When we were kids playing in the summer time. We In the backyard. get ring Worm The back of our next ringworm in next.
Yeah for all those people who have that one thing that that's an enigma, they should write down everything to eat, everything they drink, what kind of medicines they're on, where they live, what kind of jobs they have like Industrial. Get a blood panel, get a mineral test get a deficiency test for vitamins and whatever else the doctors check for and try to compare their commonalities
I usually assume a dark neck is caused by an insulin issue; early sign of type 1 diabetes or gestational diabetes if pregnant
One cause
It often is, esp if it's kind of textured.

Oooh im curious! Ive had this twice, cured it by drinking a lot of fruit juice (???), I suspected it was a vitamin deficiency. Very intrigued. Also thought i had it twice when i got newspaper ink on my neck (it used to immediately transfer to your hands, you had to wash up after reading the paper) 😂😂😂
Weird, mine lines up with melasma but went away quickly. I'm thinking the grape juice cure is a coincidence? I guess maybe super antioxidating could do something but it was just 2 64 oz bottles in 2days... Doubtful huh?
Oooh boy, never get tret/adapalene on the neck or if you do, take it very slowly. Jumping straight into daily application? Good luck to you lmao
Also transgender men can struggle with tinea versicolor because of testosterone injections, but we all know you never mention transgender people in your videos for some reason...
