Costa needs to get back into the ground and pound game. He's kind of abandoned it. He should utilized his mass and wear out some of these lighter guys who are high volume strikers that like to stay on their feet. Rampage is right on Costa vs Strickland, he should have taken Strickland to the ground. Strickland is not good on the ground. Most of his lost are with guys putting him on his back and wearing him out with ground and pound.

Paulo really is strong! Ramage had his wrist and his arm full open, basically the worst position in armwrestling and where most everyone broke their arm while trying to recover from that position. Paulo made it look easy.
He got his kicks badly checked, and he does not have the skills to compete with Strickland in the boxing. It is no coincidence that all of Paulo's wins are against basic strikers. It is also no coincidence that he has no wins over the current UFC fighters.
@@somdutroypaulo is a good fighter but lacks the fight iQ to adjust to his opponents once they find the rhythm, strickland established those front kicks early and adjusted to the low kicks within a round or two , the front kicks don't look like much but they add up and work offensively and defensively as strickland can check the low kicks and fire them quickly which also stopped costa from advancing much.
@xiMaarKo I don't know if he is still a good fighter for 2024 MW standards. Yes, he hit Rob with that spinning kick, but other than those 30s, he lost every other moment in the fight. He lost a technical fight to a basic Vettori. He has 1.5 rounds of cardio, the smallest reach in the division, and a very basic boxing style dependent on hooks. Besides that, it does not look like he has a working brain to make any mid fight adjustment ever. I believe he does not fight that much because he knows what most of the fans already know. He is not currently a rank-caliber fighter anymore, and the less he fights, the longer he can hold on to his ranking spot.

I grew up wrestling in school and in team Georgia in USA Wrestling but one of the things I noticed early on was the guys who went out there and broke opponents confidence, wrestled super aggressively and would put constant pressure on you, would have success. Rampage is 100% right about that. I’m sure it’s a little different at the elite level competing against the best in the world like Rampage but the concept is the same and for me it really was a game changer. I won a lot of matches where I was down on points put ended up gettin the pin just from constant pressure and being conscious of constantly trying to break confidence
