They've got spirit, yes they do, they've got spirit and a scary high vertical leap, a hardcore demand for perfection, and a very real threat of broken bones to.
I am so glad that cheer is finally being recognized. Everyone's always like, "All you have to do is smile and wave a pompom around." and that "football is waaay harder." Yeah? Well you football players lift up a 2 pound ball and we lift 90 pounds or more girls. We get hurt every practice, football players get injured every now and then. I'm so happy cheer struggles are being noticed!
im actauuly leaving for our first compition now, and some of the girls who wernt working hard got kicked off, like thats your fault boo boo, stay in the house
Does anyone say that about the aggressive football or basketball coaches. As a cheer coach, I am not that tough but I am tough....But why is it ok for all other sports but not cheer? Let me tell you what my girls go through from the time of tryouts.....over 1000 hours of practice time, over 10 months of practice time, cheering for footbal games, cheering for basketball games, girls and boys, on the same day. All while mainting the second highest GPA in our school, then we get into competing, and then it becomes practicing almost every day, then up early or over nighters for competitions. so yea as a coach, my patience are thin. But it is for their safety, not my EGO.......so please remember that we do not throw balls, we throw people, we tumble....so yea as a coach my main and only concern is the safety of the kids......I have a no phone or internet policy when competing.....
I admire what the coach is doing! I am also a high school cheer coach and what people don't understand that behind all the instruction and stern instruction is a person who genuinely cares about these athletes. For people to say its not a sport, they have never had to carry the weight of tossing a human in the air. All other sports throw balls, cheerleaders throw people!
I went here and it was the best experience of my life and patty ane gave us a hug and said goodbye when we had to move to England she is one of the nicest coaches ever tough but amazing thanks for the best experiences of my life
Mya Moaratty You say they suck even though they put A LOT of work into their routines. It's not easy to learn a routine that lasts a few minutes, and that you only get to perform one time at a competition. Sure, they do it more times, but that's only for seasons. They go full out which is painful and tiring, they condition ten times harder than going full out. They have to learn a different for each season, so, be my guest and try as hard as they can and try to learn their routines. Wait, you probably won't since they suck. I sure as hell know I put a lot of work, so do they.
See whats funny, is men criticize her for being this tough, but I GUARANTEE that their sons football coaches are AT A MINIMUM THE SAME WAY, if not worse
The only thing I think is stupid about this coach's decision is the no phones rule while they're in competition. I understand no phones during practice, but not being able to contact people or simply check social medias is ridiculous. The parents deserve to be able to talk to their child. Saying that I've been going to cheer comps for a good 10 years, kids are nearly never with their parents, so it's the smart thing to keep yourself updated with your parents AND coaches.
i agree. when i was around 11 my mom bought me a phone just because she wanted to be able to contact me when im not with her at cheer competitions. and i always text her so she knows when im with my team or my friends and i would hate not being able to do that.
It's only so they don't see anything upsetting right before they compete cause some parents do upset there kids before comps and then get mad at them for not being on top of there game or there boyfriends break up with them over text and then you have a cheerleader meltdown
fireitup1298 well if the cheerleader was real about the sport then it wouldn't matter as they walk onto a mat to compete. and i think that the coach would be more upset if they couldn't find a child more than she would if they had a break up. the rule is still stupid.
Our gym is the exact same way. It is always a 100% closed practice. No viewers allowed. Ask any of us girls and we love it. It helps us focus more on the routine/practice so we preform better. Patty Ann is a great coach and I love the show Cheer! I think more coaches should be like her
When my stunt group was first learning how to do a full up, my flyer fell on my head everytime but our coach just pushed us to keep going. It's not all glitter, bows and girly stuff. It's hard work!
dang guys she's not that tough. that's normal. comp cheer doesn't get any credit and we suffer the most pain. but guess what? we don't cry. we simply shake it off and go back to the routine so this video shows what we do.
God I love both coaches. They remind me of my ballet instructors. They push those kids hard, to the point that they puke or cry but that is what makes you a better performer. You have to want to be better, you have to work harder every day. That desire to be told you did or look good is what motivated performers. If you aren’t called out for a correction it means you were boring and went all practice without getting any attention. It seems harsh or abusive these days but trust me, those kids will keep that “if I don’t give it my all then I’m not good enough” attitude into adulthood. They will also respect elders, always be prepared, understand their body and when they are actually hurt vs uncomfortable, understand how teamwork doesn’t work if you don’t give your all, and so much more. Yeah kids cry but they keep coming back because they know the yelling or insults aren’t personal. The instructors don’t hate you, they see potential in you and are pushing you to reach the potential and weed out the kids who aren’t strong enough emotionally/physically/psychologically to compete and perform at high levels . If you made it to that level, you are talented and can do it. A coach screaming at you and calling you stupid will be the person at the ER with you and your mom/dad if you get injured or will stay all day with you in the hospital if you get sick just so your parents can go home and get some rest. They will stay in touch for years and celebrate your successes outside of a cheer/dance/skate/gymnastics environment. One teacher who pushed me to the point of almost quitting was invited to my wedding. Because she taught me what it means to be strong, to fight for what I want, to always try to improve something, and to keep it together when someone has something negative to say, and how to thank them for criticism the same way you thank them for compliments. Fantastic coaches!
Hard work beats talent, as simple as it is. In order to get what you want, you have to work for it, it's not handed to you. I admire Patty Ann, for teaching those girls those lessons.
I do competitive cheer, I think that it is insane that this gym doesn’t allow phones at competition, I’ve been to so many and especially at worlds and summit you need to have communication with your parents😂
The no phone and no Facebook thing is totally valid. I'm a competitive dancer and last year I wasn't allowed to be on facebook a week before competition because it psychs you out if you see anything about the competition posted.
I have cheered for 15 years and my coach is the exact same way I mean it is natural when I am finished my arms and legs fell like there going to fall off but I love it
I'm a competitive dancer and I dance from 5:00-9:00(sometimes it's earlier, sometimes it ends later, depends what day it is),7 days a week, and my mom pays 900 dollars a month, 10 months out of year, not including costumes, competition fees, privates with my dance teacher(1$ a minute),and intensives(we have them every 2 months, $100 dollars for 5 hours). So if I'm doing ten dances for competition, that's 500 dollars in entry fees, and we go to about 5 competitions a season, then Nationals, not including travel fees. It's about 80-100 dollars each costume,so if I do 10 dances for competition,10 dances for rec classes, that's about 1800 in costumes alone(which is the price cheer moms pay a year). So,to add that all together, it's 9,000 a year for my classes, 2,500 for the competition entry fees, and 1,800 costumes, which makes a total of...13,300 a year. And these moms complain about their fees.
that's a ton of money just for dance, where do you dance? because i know girls who are competitive dancers and they certainly don't pay as much. i do jv cheer at my school and my mom was complaining about paying $130, couldn't imagine being in your shoes. but the cheer team in this video is just an average all star team, there are definitely teams who pay much more than $1800, especially in my area where a lot of girls do cheer and there are a lot of all star gyms.
my coach is the excat same way, but we always either get 1st or 2nd place in comps because of the hard work, you can't be a cheerleader if you can't talk some yelling form coaches, simple as that
That's my point (well not the obnoxious part. We're pretty freaking awesome). When I was in allstar cheer if we were never out before 10 and most of the team lived an hour away.
My coach is harsh at times but at practice we have the time of our lives she makes them super fun for homecoming we are doing the whip and purposely falling to the ground 😂😂
How would yall know if she's not as tough of a coach as eddie and orby ? Yall have been watching the Smo coaches for years and yall just seen less than 5 minutes of this ladys coaching so ...... I know yall like Smoed and all but they're not the only great team with tough coaches out there.
@Berryhills100 lets see you do a back handspring, front handspring, front tuck, back tuck, ariel, roundoff back handspring, or a roundoff back handspring into back tuck OR a front walkover or a back walkover...not so easy is it now. and to these people thats only the basics.
I'm a coach too, and I've got to say, noooobody I know could get away with having closed practices and cutting kids off from their families while traveling. After the whole USA Gymnastics scandal, that behavior became known as "grooming." It's a huge red flag.
They've got spirit, yes they do, they've got spirit and a scary high vertical leap, a hardcore demand for perfection, and a very real threat of broken bones to.
At my gym you can't see inside to
They should make a show called “Cheer Moms"😂
LOL 😆😆😆😆😄😂😂😅😅😄😄
Yesssss
yes they should
Yes
YES!!!!
I am so glad that cheer is finally being recognized. Everyone's always like, "All you have to do is smile and wave a pompom around." and that "football is waaay harder." Yeah? I'm so happy cheer struggles are being noticed!
I am a cheerleader and I totally agree
I do dance and is way more extensive then cheer. I think dance and cheer r amazing sports and I like both!!
+Destiny Richlove sameeeee
+Scömíche is life All star cheer isn't just a sport, its a lifestyle. its a death wish too 😂😂
right!
She may be a tough coach but then people wonder why teams with these kinds of coaches win 💁🏻
well they always get 10th or 18th lol
for real thoughh
She doesn't have the greatest team but she's one of the top best cheer couches out there.
Carolina C I play basketball and a team that always beats us is told what to do when it happens
johandelgadojd24 and look at their program now...
Eddie Rios from SMOED is way tougher
True dat✌🏻️
She's not as tough as the coaches for the Cali SMOED team
She's just plain mean not a good actual coach like edie
+Alison L. People never say that about smoed and they're equally the same amount of meanness. cough cough Double standard cough cough
+Alison L. she's an amazing coach with a lot of heart. She'll get her team where they need to be.
Darcy Griffiths yesss
@@AlisonLevi I watch her coach my friends she is actually a very good coach
The SMOED coach Eddie is way tougher. If you want to see elite cheerleading watch Cheerleaders on Awesomeness TV!
central jersey is pretty good too though ! But yes Eddie haha if theres anyone who gets enjoyment out of watching conditioning hahaha
Have you ever met her, because she really does yell a lot
I TOTALLY agree. Cali Smoed RULES the cheer world!
But Eddie dosent swear at the kids!!! She is worse
.
I wish my coach was as tough as her. It would make the other girls work a hell of a lot harder.
Same a lot of girls on my team don't try
im actauuly leaving for our first compition now, and some of the girls who wernt working hard got kicked off, like thats your fault boo boo, stay in the house
I'm not even in cheer but I condition all because of smoed.
Jeese, she looks like the cheer version of abby lee miller lol
You are right 😂😂😂
+MineCraft Minion LMMAOOO
Truuuuuu omg
Ikr😂😂
Sooooooo true
She's like the Abby Lee of dance moms. Except for her name is Patty Ann.... For CHEER! (moms) xD
Yea yours right there
No she is quite mellow if you compare her to Eddi Rios
This video shows how tough cheerleading actually is! Thank you
i think Eddie at SMOED is worse honestly..
but Eddie is a good coach and loves his cheer team
Same
Eddie from smoed is WAY worse! Lol
He doesn't swear at the kids and he cares if they fall and she didn't care if s girl split her lip!!!?
True
True, but Patty Ann is cool too
+Scömíche is life Travis wasn't from CJA lmao
Serena campbell I know
Don't y'all just hate it when someone says cheer isn't a sport/hard. I'm like ya it is we practice more then you and can lift more then you.
Have you ever met Eddie from Cali

magicslimesDIY when did she say that suck?? He or she never said that
i'm a competitive cheerleader... i was really annoyed with the beginning.
Jordyn Ashley same
Same
Same
I can never fully explain to people that cheer is a high stress sport on not only your body but your mind.
See whats funny, is men criticize her for being this tough, but I GUARANTEE that their sons football coaches are AT A MINIMUM THE SAME WAY, if not worse

My coach takes our phones during competitions so we are focused and not distracted on our phones. Common sense
Cheerflyeriam ok but if you're taken off the street by a stranger without your phone then your coach should feel stupid. She's not your mom.
I freaking love CJA

I love this show!!
only $1800 a year?! I'm in semi-competitive dance and its $2400 a year😂
wow you're rich. Do you want a medal or something? gold plated just for you.
Mine is 1100$ a year.
you spend more money. yay?
I pay 500,000 for cheer a year
tf^ thats alot
what happened to Eddie and Orby?
She's been around way before Eddie and orby
The guy at the beginning: they’ve got spirit, yes they do!
Me: no, not that kinda cheer! 🤦🏽♀️🙄
When my stunt group was first learning how to do a full up, my flyer fell on my head everytime but our coach just pushed us to keep going. It's not all glitter, bows and girly stuff. It's hard work!
She is just like my coach. Having a hard coach makes you work harder
RIGHT!
"Don't split blood on the mat." Is my new motto.
dang guys she's not that tough. that's normal. comp cheer doesn't get any credit and we suffer the most pain. but guess what? we don't cry. we simply shake it off and go back to the routine so this video shows what we do.
They think Patty Anne is scary? They should see Eddie coach SMOED 😂😂

the show is called CHEER and is on the channel CMT
THANK YOU! AMEN
man she is a tough coach but this is the kind of coach that is needed to win comps
Hard work beats talent, as simple as it is. In order to get what you want, you have to work for it, it's not handed to you. I admire Patty Ann, for teaching those girls those lessons.
they r so good i wish i would of stayed in cheer!!!
I do competitive cheer, I think that it is insane that this gym doesn’t allow phones at competition, I’ve been to so many and especially at worlds and summit you need to have communication with your parents😂
i didnt know she had a show!! yas!
The no phone and no Facebook thing is totally valid.
I'm a competitive dancer and last year I wasn't allowed to be on facebook a week before competition because it psychs you out if you see anything about the competition posted.
They could barley do a kick full, if they are paying that much they should learn how to do stuff correctly
i know
You go coach!
I have cheered for 15 years and my coach is the exact same way I mean it is natural when I am finished my arms and legs fell like there going to fall off but I love it

Though our years making videos for this sport we have watched so many young athletes lives being positivity changed by All Star Cheerleading.
I want her as a coach, like that gym seems so successful and I wish I could go there.
my coach is the excat same way, but we always either get 1st or 2nd place in comps because of the hard work, you can't be a cheerleader if you can't talk some yelling form coaches, simple as that
BeatuyBy Ali well, at least you get 1st or 2nd, you'd still qualify for Worlds.
I got second my very first comp and first on my most recent one :) (we beat the team we lost to, cause ya know the got worse)
EXACTLY. which is why my cheer team always won. This generation these days don't like criticism. Don't cry when you loose.
Holy cow that kick full basket
"I am an extremely aggressive coach" sounds like she's doing this for herself more than the girls. Like she's on a power trip
i use to go to cja and i misssss it so much :(
Anyone know when this show is coming back on!??!
I love cheer ive done it for 2 year
A pom pom and a smile is no longer enough to call yourself an Elite cheerleader in this country
I get to talk to my mom when I reach a competition or kick off! Who else does!?!?
That's my point (well not the obnoxious part. We're pretty freaking awesome). When I was in allstar cheer if we were never out before 10 and most of the team lived an hour away.
My coach is harsh at times but at practice we have the time of our lives she makes them super fun for homecoming we are doing the whip and purposely falling to the ground 😂😂
I wish i had a coach like patty.
The tough coaching is worth it in the end:)
When does the show come on?

I love cheer
central jersey? couldnt believe one year some of them asked for our autograph/ picture it was an honor (usa wildcats)
if you see the episode, it was a mistake, she went back and did another perfect one.
Have they ever heard of SMOED ? Now that's a hardcore and amazing team.
"Don't spit blood on the mat!" 😂👌
why is the centre flyers basket so bad
That’s how most coaches are and moms in my gym aren’t aloud to watch routines either
When does cheer return back to tv??
Who else comes back every couple years for “even a PRISONER gets a PHONE CALL” 😂
You go Patty!
@Berryhills100 lets see you do a back handspring, front handspring, front tuck, back tuck, ariel, roundoff back handspring, or a roundoff back handspring into back tuck OR a front walkover or a back walkover...not so easy is it now. and to these people thats only the basics.
we don't use Pom poms!
My coach is like that. But we are good so it pays off when we win.
omg i
I do cheer and our practices are just like this
Yeah my coach is like that too
our practice is 5 days a week.from 4 to 6 hours.but our work pays off
I agree. There's nothing worse than a coach who isn't strict at all, in any sport. You need a coach who will push you hard!
I have braces, i am a flyer on my team. One day i break my arm so saided my coach GET UP WE HAVE A WORK TO DO. So i cry
yes. if you practice really hard and put lots of effort into training then youll pick things up faster then you think.
when did it start
I want to do cheer. I'm almost 13 and have little to no experience (like I can't do a backbend). Should I start?
I'm from Britain how can I watch the tv show is it online can someone send me a link please xx thanks
I WISH my coach was that tough. We do have younger girl's on the team, but they need to be whipped into shape
I am a competition cheerleader but my coach is a little too soft...any chance I could get another one of these ladies as a coach???
switch gyms
I'm a coach too, and I've got to say, noooobody I know could get away with having closed practices and cutting kids off from their families while traveling. After the whole USA Gymnastics scandal, that behavior became known as "grooming." It's a huge red flag.
lol yeah, i recently watched the season and its really good! lol
3 days a week ? I go to the gym 4-6 days a week
What channel is it on??
Did anyone knew that snooki came here
THE PPL WE VERSE ARE ALL THE WAY IN CANADA. I LIVE IN NJ
"...until as late as 9 pm." That's early for cheer practice
TThey are LOUD and PERFECT I went against the Jr.2
What team
If they were actually good they wouldn't have to yell
+Maliya Wrzosek what? That doesn't even make sense 😂. And they are good...
I could never be able to cheer on that team
they have many of All star squads it depends where you live?
Cheer pride just went against CJA Sunday!!!!
