I dont know if there was no one open but one thing Lamar needs in his tool box is quick passes across the middle. Dont wait for big plays, just snap and throw. It makes the defense open up because they dont know what to expect, with all the other stuff. Instead three things happened last night, - one he held the ball waiting for a deep shot, two he threw outside to flowers behind the line when nothing else was available, three he ran. He needs more quick throws for short yards. Mahomes used that and keeps the drive alive while frustrating the defense.
So much of this expectation falls on Lamar, but nowhere near as much pressure falls on the organization to create the environment conducive to that sort of passing growth. We're talking about a team that has treated the building of the passing game like the unwanted step-child for 25 years. That environment, that foundation, plays a huge role in that growth. Lamar can't just do it himself without the philosophy, scheme, line and WRs.
When Ravens signed Derrick Henry everyone was happy. They already had the number 1 rushing offense so why sign Henry? That money could have been used to sign a WR or an offensive lineman. It seems you guys want it both ways. All I heard this offseason was Henry, henry, henry. The Ravens rush for almost 200 yards and still lost. He averaged 1 air yard through most of the game 😂😂😂 his playmaker carried his arm like they always do. LJ legs kept them in the game but his arm lost it for them.
@@stevenh3508why is LJ always near the top of the league in yards per attempt ? If you’ve even watched the ravens, you’d know they haven’t had many yac yards. They were always a deep & intermediate pass game. The chiefs defense has a great coach. He didn’t have an answer for Lamar.
@Finnissee0122 literally nothing you said is factual, they were last year but that is far and away from your vague "always near the top" 🤣 the answer for lamar is always take his running game away - and they shut down Henry. LJ ran well for once against Spags, but when you force lamar to throw you are almost always going to win 😆
@@stevenh3508Lmfao why lie if that was the case genius all teams would do it but only a couple can this is whites go to when he has a bad game you know the qb position is your last one and then whites are out of the league..
@@stevenh3508 damn dude I'm not a Ravens or Lamar fan but u being all over these comments hating is pretty sad ngl. I know this happens to every good plays in every sport but I've never understood why some people make it their personality to spread negativity like this, so weird. Im embarrassed for you if are over the age of 12
I agree with Kurt. We all know he is a runner and that hasn’t taken them to the promised land. I suggest trusting that he trust his receivers and Derek more and run as a last resort
You can't say these things Kurt, the Lamar lovers will tell you how you don't know what you're talking about. lol
Kurt was 100% correct , he just didn’t articulate why Lamar played how he did. He never mentioned how much Kc rushed that offense with the pass rush
Iowa people are sooooo smooth.
He wanted to set a tone. Definitely need more plays to Bateman.
Making sense, Kurt. How else could Mark Andrews be almost nonexistent in the game.
It’s so easy to criticize Lamar because there’s no one else in the world like him, he’s playing QB at the highest level for multiple years now and still not a sole to compare him to so everyone just criticizes because it’s not what they’re use to
That is not true, the guy had 2 MVP awards, MVP is voted by the media, the media loves LJ. At the end of the day, no matter who loves you, you got to win a super bowl. If you don't, you will be forgotten, like Dan Marino.
He said.
Nothing about the offensive line that was not given him.The protaction kurt warner didn't say nothing about the Offensive line He said nothing Check it out. The offensive line was a big big problem bigger than Lamar's.
But they don't like him. He's the most dynamic quarterback ever and they don't like that.
Absolute bullshit!
C/ATT YDS AVG TD INT SACKS QBR RTG
Lamar Jackson - 26/41 273 6.7 1 0 1-6 61.1 90.8
Patrick Mahomes - 20/28 291 10.4 1 1 2-10 65.9 101.9
It wasn't that Lamar didn't pass well, his passer rating was 90.8. It wasn't that he didn't play well, his QBR was 61.1. It was, once again, that he didn't play as well as Patrick Mahomes and he shares that with every other QB who's gone against Mahomes not named Tom Brady.
Eli Manning says Brady apologists are getting desperate to stay relevant.
@@markb3786 I don't think you need to apologize for Brady pwning Mahomes. As a Ravens fan I'm about the furthest thing in the world from a Brady apologist to begin with but, if those who are Brady apologists are getting desperate to stay relevant, they are joining Eli Manning who was already there a very long time ago so...
He was also his team’s rushing offense. He was the best player on the field.
Lamar doesn’t have the confidence in his receivers…or better yet…he’s not committed to his receivers (that’s on both Lamar and receivers). Where Patrick is so connected with not just his receivers but his entire offensive line and his offensive line in tune with patrick ( man, they adjust so well on the fly!!). You could see the head coach andy reed seriously held back plays (especially with that speedster Worthy!!! And Travis!!! That Raven playing saying if that’s all you got, good luck lol, dude! Hasn’t a clue in what’s coming at him the next time they meet.
He's right. Too much seat-of-the-pants from the Ravens offense.
Last two games against Chiefs, Lamar has good first half and another person comes out in his uniform the second half and plays like he's desperate.
Lamar seems to play better with a quicker tempo! He did miss some throws in the middle of the field! Let’s face it, he’s a great athlete but accuracy is not his strong suit! Missed a wide open Flowers in the end zone right before the throw to Likely!
😂Obviously Lamar didn’t trust that offensive line duh. So he ran to give his team a chance
The Ravens have no deep threat WR. He has two good tight ends, and that's it. They do have Pat Ricard and Derrick Henry though, so they should play to their strengths though, and run run run the ball. They didn't stick with that last night, and they lost because of it.
Too much risk with a QB looking to run most of the time. If he continues to run this much he’ll be pretty banged up (or worse)-injured by the end of the season.
Last year everyone say why is Lamar not running. This year is why Lamar is taking of run. WHATTTTTT bro can’t please nobody 🤦🏾♂️
It’s comical
You have to have a pocket first to sit in. The Ravens O line is more like some leggings. Lamar did what he was suppose to do. The rest of the team needs to catch up.
Lamar also has never trusted his receivers or backs with the ball.
How he supposed to be patient and think pass first with that crappy Offensive line? He had defensive players all over him most of the plays.
You cant stay in the pocket when the OLINE leakier than a sieve.
Lamar did miss some throws. But cmon Kurt if you played behind that offensive line you would have been sacked 10 times that game behind that young o line! Relax it’s week one
Did he see how bad that line was
what a weird take from kurt. ravens online was clearly unprepared for chiefs d line. when you get strip sacked early, that concern is naturally gonna stay with you the entire game. ball security is always priority for a qb, and warner should know that. sounds more like confirmation bias than actual tape analysis, and it’s irresponsible to go on a marquee show and give e a take such as this
Did you pay attention to the line.
Your take aways from bengals and Patriots week 1 😂😂😂nothing Lamar week 1 every one 😅
What pocket 😂
First game people dam
I called it there not the same team they lost players. I thought they looked weak as hell.
Ravens O-line sucked butt just like they did last season, coaching as well.
Lamar running kept them in the game. Duh.
Kurt didn’t watch the game
What expect , no offensive line, you a ex qb but you didn't run, and you had everything you needed
LameArm isn't a real qb....he's a really good rb playing qb.....MAHOMES RULES THE NFL. 3Peat Assured.
Mahomes next 8 suoerbowls
Who is there to stop.him
So he suppose to take 20 sacks right..?
Kurt sees thinks we can't see
Lamar is great need to change nothing
The o line is poop
Why do everybody hate Lamar Jackson HIStory ridiculous I'm telling you it's f***** up he's the haters quarterback in the league and you're doing dirty that's not right
D lost the game and lose more. Lamar will try to compensate and get hurt and make mistakes. Steady decline in Charm City over the next few years.
He's a Lamar hater plain and simple
anyone surprised? this is who Lamar is and y he will never get it done, he is a RB posing as a QB
2x Mvp.....
Chiefs played great but racens didnt and still shouldve won. Ravens will be fine.
Lamar can't win with his arm. Period.
The refs assisted the chiefs like a mf
I know. All you have to do is look at the penalty differential. Ravens got flagged 7 times and the Chiefs only got flagged 6 times. A blind man can see the refs favored the Chiefs. 1whole extra penalty called against the Ravens. It's outrageous.
@@ozarked2363 its not how many its when and for what .. are you slow? did you not see the chiefs lined up the exact same way but no calls? like make it make sense .
@@ozarked2363 and the dpi on zay took mad long for them to throw the flag they weren't going to but it was super obvious like are we watching the same game or
@@kiyanwest149 So you're position is the refs intentionally called penalties at the most inopportune times against the Ravens but didn't call them against the Chiefs? Did those penalties cause Lamar to miss 2 open receivers in the end zone? Did those penalties cause Tucker to miss a field goal? Did those penalties cause Likely to not get both feet down in the end zone? Did those penalties cause Lamar to fumble? Those mistakes cost the Ravens their chance to win the game, not the referees.
@@ozarked2363 those penalties ruined the flow of the game .. all im saying was why weren't they called on the chiefs thats all .. riddle me that batman.
There were definitely bad moments from the O-Line and a bit of ref ball, but I kind of felt the same thing that Kurt described in this video. Lamar hit some throws for sure, but he missed a lot of really good looks, including a really bad one on the second to last play of the game. That's always been a thing with him; he dances out there and either doesn't have the vision to see what he has in the passing game, or he sees it and doesn't execute the throws. He had a great game running the ball, but that's not enough to win against really good teams.
Revenge of the nerds Lamar not MVP Lamar
Lamar can’t satisfy anybody
