Asheville, Black Mountain, Montreat College and Pisgah National Forest in December 2023

In our latest RUclips video, we take you along on our recent 5-day trip to North Carolina. Our adventure started off with a bit of a challenge, as we broke a leaf spring just outside of Knoxville. But with the help of a great family-owned RV supply store named McKeever RV and Marine, we were able to repair the leaf springs and continue on with our trip.
Our trip to North Carolina was nothing short of amazing and we captured every moment of it on our latest RUclips video! During our trip, we had the pleasure of visiting some of the most beautiful places in the state, including the charming town of Black Mountain and the prestigious Montreat College.
Black Mountain is a quaint town surrounded by stunning natural landscapes, and it was the perfect place to kick off our trip. We strolled through the streets, enjoyed some local cuisine, and learned about the town's fascinating history. We also visited Montreat College, which is known for inspiring the popular book series One Second After. One Second After is a popular book series written by William R. Forstchen. The series is set in the aftermath of a catastrophic electromagnetic pulse (EMP) that destroys all electronic devices in the United States, causing widespread chaos and devastation. The books explore the challenges faced by a small town in North Carolina as its residents struggle to survive in a world without electricity, communication, or transportation. The series is a gripping and thought-provoking look at what could happen if our modern way of life was suddenly taken away. It was incredible to see the place that sparked such a compelling storyline.
Another highlight of our trip was our visit to Pisgah National Forest. This area is known for its breathtaking waterfalls, and we were lucky enough to see a few of them during our trip. We hiked through the forest, took in the beautiful scenery, and felt the peace that only nature can provide. We also visited the Pretty Place Chapel, which is nestled in the forest and offers an incredible view of the surrounding mountains. It was truly awe-inspiring.
The next day, we headed to Asheville and completed the Urban walking trail, which allowed us to learn about the rich history of the city. We saw some incredible architecture, learned about important historical events, and discovered some hidden gems that we wouldn't have found otherwise. We were also in the right place at the right time to witness the Asheville Fire Department responding to a residential structure fire with their impressive tiller. As Jonathan is a firefighter himself, it was a real treat to see the firefighters in action.
Finally, we stayed at the lovely Powhatan campground throughout our trip. The campground was clean, safe, and surrounded by beautiful scenery. It was the perfect place to relax after a long day of exploring.
Overall, our trip to North Carolina was an unforgettable experience, and we're so grateful to have captured it on video to share with our viewers. We hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed filming it!
