I feel absolutely sheepish giving a queen a make up tip, so humbley: I would have suggested in a pinch using a fine tipped liner brush and wetting the brush/shadow to use it as a liner. It's the only way to keep it crisp and get the concentration of pigment u need to make it passable in my experience
