Kao The Kangaroo hops onto Playstation this Summer!
This action packed 3D platformer is set in a vibrant world filled with challenging enemies and adventure! Kao will use his magic boxing gloves to punch a path through his adversaries, jabbing his way through the obstacles ahead as he pummels his way to glory.
Kao the Kangaroo will feature:
Beautiful, diverse wolds, packed with secrets
Engaging and fun gameplay for all ages - family-friendly, but for core gamers too
Magic gloves stacked with powers
Kao - a cheeky, brave, and feisty kangaroo who embarks on a life-changing journey
An engaging story filled with a cast of captivating characters
Challenging combat including unique boss battles
A whole host of items to collect
Kao the Kangaroo will launch digitally and physically on PS5 and PS4 this summer.

It's interesting to see old platforming mascots make a return. Hopefully Croc and Rayman come back in some form too eventually.
Yes Croc would be amazing 😁
If you have the game dreams there's a level someone made that is very, very similar to croc. It's a reboot of sorts of the legend of gobbos.

BTW, i miss early 2000's when most video games were 3D platformers
Either that or inspired by 3D Zeldas like Okami or Starfox Adventures or a mix between both genres like Psychonauts, Conker or Legend of Kay.
Yea I kinda wish that I was born earlier so that I could have experienced more of that era (was born in 1995).
@@RizzerixLP I was born in 1995 and experienced all of those great IPs. It's never too late, though, most of them exist on current consoles, especially the Switch

Makes me so happy to see games like this still being made! Played Crash 4 and Marsupilami: Hoobadventure a while back and loved them
Marsupilami: Hoobadventure is so under the radar but i liked it too. A bit easy for the most part, even having it on difficult settings. its a carbon copy of donkey kong country in every way but cause we can't play DK on xbox, this is the next best thing.

As someone who has never played this series before, I was drawn in my some things that reminded me of Crash, particularly the cover art with similar art style to the rifts from Crash 4. I am very excited for this having now realized it isn’t a brand new title, but a revamp. Looking forward to trying out this series this summer

As a kid I’ve never heard of kao but then again the older games only released in Australia so discovering a mascot that’s both old and new to me is pretty rad
i played this on ps2 so much !! wasn't expecting this guy to make a comeback but i'm all for the 90s/00s platformers returning !!

Everything about it looks like Crash 4: It's about Time. The artstyle, the animations, the trailer structure and even the cover art. It even has the same highly saturated blue and purple colours on the cover. Some promo art works of Crash 4: It's About Time had these glass shard looking things behind Crash that feature the different characters and villains of the game. This has almost the exact same thing.
I'm not saying this as a complaint. It's just very very odd. There's no way it can be a coincidence.
Kao isn't a new game
There were few editions of it in between 2000 and 2005
@@TheKaczmarr I know but everything about the presentation here is borderline identical to Crash It's About Time.
It definitely reflects Crash 4 heavily, but I welcome it, tbh. Like how so many games are borrowing from BOTW or Dark Souls. I wouldn't call it a bad thing, it's a formula that works. That being said, I imagine the gameplay is slightly more Spyro than Crash

I personally have not heard of or played the Kao games but from just seeing this trailer, this is the most ‘90s thing I’ve ever seen and I will definitely pick this up, having loved 90s games like Crash or Spyro, which Kao *DEFINITELY* reminds me of
Kao came out in the late 90s for the dreamcast, so he is not new. Technically he is apart of that og platformer era, he just never got the recognition like crash and the others

The original 2003 game was my childhood joy. I remember having to take those very painful injections because i had a very sickly childhood and I would sit on my dad's lap and play this game afterward, one of us would control the mouse and another the keyboard. It would always make me forget about the pain
