South Indian Bengali speaking here...bengali born in Kerala, brought up in Tamilnadu , worked in Pune , Mumbai , Bangalore I totally relate to this podcast. I don't know about now, but we had to learn Sanskrit as a compulsory subject till I think 4th or 6th class and since then I've never found any language difficult to pick (at least rudimentary), even German and Spanish become easier to understand....totally support Sanskrit as a national language. Jai Bharat!
We feel proud when we wear suit and neck tie. But have we ever tried asking a British or American to wear Dhoti and Kurta and their reaction?

During my college days, in Bhopal and Delhi in 90s, telling anyone that I go to Mandir or that I pray used to be considered so lowly that other students would see you with disdain and will laugh at you. I used to take caution to not mention anything about my religious beliefs or my prayers. Few of the students got converted to Christianity and without changing name would always be talking about what great thing they have done.
Adi, thanks for bringing Anu to this forum. I have seen quite a few videos of her and it is really very good and that shows her patriotism always. She is definitely a great citizen of India and we are really proud of her. Loved this🙏

That is the first l saw a sengol. It was a British practice introduced in 1917, when the institution, a govt. one, was established.

Yes total support for Sanskrit as binding language and official language for business and state affairs. Sankstrit was already playing this role of international language and lang of acadaemics almost uptill 1000 years ago. I think we should work to re-establish this wonderfully logical and beautiful language as International language for business and acadaemics .
