Custom Movie Accurate Mr. Potato Head DIY How to Part 1 I Arms and Feet

This is part 1 of a 2 part series on the process I take to make my custom movie accurate Mr. Potato Head. This mainly covers the arms and the feet and its a custom that anyone with access to a few easy to get parts can do. No 3D printers or anything fancy required; just some handy man work and elbow grease.

Yeah coulda used a little more love. I just didn’t want to spend too much time on an part of him you will hardly see, but if anyone wanted to try this for themselves they could definitely make them a lot better with some more time 😎👍🏼

The 1985 Body Is Better Because It Doesn’t Have Any Holes On The Back On The Potato, But Plugging Up The Holes Also Works.

I did like the shape a lot, but the 85 potato has that weird indent smile even when you don’t have a mouth on that shows over the mustache. I almost used it.

The shoe holes are a bit off. I feel you could have made them a bit more centered.

They are for sure. I compensated by adjusting the shoe pegs themselves and it all sits well 😎👌🏼

@@CinemaToybox good to know. If ever decided on making improvements for accuracy, I would recommend using the ‘80s-00s body and spacing the feet holes a fair ways apart.
Also, I have to give you mad props for fitting pieces of other shoes to fill the gaps in the cut sides of the shoe. I’ve made a few of these and somehow never thought to do that!

@@therealCrazyJake much appreciated, my friend! I almost went with the vintage potato head body, but the body has that weird indented smile which you can see even with the mustache on so thats the main reason I stuck with the TS4 body.

@@CinemaToybox I know what you mean. It can be annoying to have to work with that little lip, but it’s usually just something I’ve bared with. I do see some really good custom bodies from some creators through 3D printing, though they’re usually pretty costly, so might be something to save up for in the future.

@@therealCrazyJake oh absolutely! I plan to get a 3D printer and take things to the next level, but with my channel so small and not monetized yet its not quite in the budget.
