    For iron deficiency, try cooking with cast iron, or raw iron cookware, the kind without any coating. Hope that helps. 😊

      You're welcome. You're helping us reflect on our own lives while living yours, and while bridging cultures. And your videos are more than vlogs; they are like short documentaries. The music itself has a nice retro vibe. Would you release a song list? BTW your music made me think of "Talk About Today" by the Skyflakes--it has the same vibe I think so I think you'd like it.@@melissa_renee

    Hello! You've given me a lot of ideas! I love Hemma and Muji and you gave me ideas to buy some things there that I usually buy on Taobao. I know you from school, but I watched your videos before to practice my English. I have Thalassemia minor and what I usually take daily is folic acid. Good luck, very nice videos!

    Has anyone ever told you that you need to eat meat? I understand why some people don't want to eat meat, but if your body cannot manage without meat, you have no option but to eat meat, I am afraid. Merry Christmas to you and your family and thank you for all the videos this year. Merry Christmas also to anyone reading this 🎄🎁⛄

    Does gluten free flour exist, or is that all marketing? No worries, there's plenty of good gluten free foods out there. I think I may have celiac disease, too. I should test myself.
    8:04 That grocery store looks like something straight out of the Avengers. Haha.
    Muji is cool, I have a few products from them as well. Mostly stationery stuff. Maybe, I will try out their toothpaste, but I hope they are artificial sweetener free. I changed to artificial sweetener free recently.

    All flour products contain gluten, that includes steam buns and Chinese flatbread, noodle dishes so on so forth, not just pizza and bread, find a bakery that make 48h+ longer fermentation process of sourdough, that would be much less impact on your gut, all through that could be challenging to find in China, regular overnight fermentation doesn't cut it, even for sourdough.

    Try to enjoy the last legal high, Melissa :). I thought of the possibility of celiac when you mentioned joint pain, fatigue and anemia in the past....., but didn't say anything since I am not a gastroenterologist... ( you just do not need someone in surgical oncology to remotely play doctor with you on some kind of immune issue a few thousand miles away). How's your bone density? You might want to go check your bone density as well when you are at it.

    • @melissa_renee
      @melissa_renee  11 месяцев назад

      I think I was in denial. I avoided gluten for 8 years of my life and then reintroduced it about 4 years ago, and that's when all the issues started. Sounds like a surgical oncologist knows his stuff. lol I'll ask my doc about the bone density! Thanks for the tip.

      @@melissa_renee Not really, just like the professors in school used to say all the time, the only thing they knew well was how much they didn't know... seriously. so the only thing we do know well is how much we do not know.
      You might need to be supplemented as well. Since we do not know whether you will be able to get higher quality multi in China or not, so please do not hesitate to let us know if you would not be able to find any in Shanghai..., we will send you the ones you need from the States ( as our gifts to you). God bless and take it easy.

      Welcome to travel to China. Chinese culture is very different from Western culture, and the values are also very different. Some things are considered "honey" in China but are considered "arsenic" in the United States, and vice versa. As a Chinese, I am sure of one thing. The vast majority of Chinese people do not feel persecuted by the government and lack freedom. This may be due to differences in culture.

      @@jzeng2022great answer. I have been to China 4 times. The Chinese people are great. China’s progress is fantastic! The Western corporate media reports are toxic.

      I trust Melissa’s vblogs are filmed per her real lifestyles. I enjoy them for quality and contents…do you believe she and family not living the real life in Shanghai?! I have been to China 4 x as a westerner and loved my travels and interaction experiences with Chinese people! The US corporate media reportage on China is toxic-- following geopolitical cold war strategies.
