- It's an INK DAY! This time we're looking at Monteverde's Blue Skies ink, a Goulet exclusive (no affiliation). I recently received this with a pen purchase as part of a promotion and it has turned out to be a nice blue.
The ink is available here: www.gouletpens.com/products/m...
The pen was a Hongdian M2 reviewed here: • It's The Little Things...

It looks a lot like Monteverde Horizon Blue, except Blue Skies has some sheen. Love that vibrant blue!
I'm shocked about the pen & gear paper! Thanks!
I got that ink, a generous 30 ml, as a no-cost extra with a Monteverde MVP. Definitely a nice blue.
Great review!
Nice review. Thanks for the info on some of the different paper as well.
I have an A5 hard bound that I use for journaling from Walmart. I think it’s called Exceed, and paper works just fine.
re: Exceed paper...was it made in China?
I would love to see this ink compared to Monteverde Horizon Blue
I think that in Rodia paper looks a tiny bit more blue than other papers where it seems to be a bit darker, but maybe it's the lighting of the video that make it look like that.
I'm waiting on Jinhao Deep Blue to match this pen. For now I'm using J. Herbin Rose Cyclamen for contrast.
I like your Channel , very much..
Viewing your Cursive Scribbing technique, makes me want to improve my own Cursive writing...thank you
Personally I am not into the BLUE inks....cause I was forced to use only Blue ink through my whole education journey.....It is an old ink color for me....
looking to try some
Black,
Brown ,
Sepia (Dark Brown with a ting of Red),
Dark Greens
Dark Oranges and
maybe some Blue Black
There are some great browns, greens, and oranges out there!
That is the shade of blue i have been looking for! I have Iroshizuku asa-gao and Diamine Regency Blue. Both i like but this is, well, blue, a vibrant blue.
For 30ml it is $12 plus shipping. I only wish it came in a larger bottle.
Thank you for the review, James.
James, how does this ink clean up . ? Diamine and Noodlers Bay state blue seem to stain my Noodlers clear Konrad pen. Diamine leaves a pinkish red in the barrel and bay state is eternal blue.
I washed off my hands quite well, and the with the water fastness being what it was, I'd expect it to clean out of the pen well, too.
😇🩵🙏🙌
tbh, looks just like any royal blue to me. bit too dark to call it blue skies. don't get me wrong, it's a nice blue.
