Beautiful spot you're fishing. I'm just gettin back to fishing and struck out my first 4 times going on the apalachicola river here in Florida...I'll get locked in on them soon enough...just wanted to send some positive energy your way 💪 🙏
I've been trying for a big flathead since late July, going every evening after work. Using live bluegill, cut fresh shad. Ive had a few big bites but I cannot get one. It's definitely not for a lack of trying. I dont have a boat so I'm always bank fishing just like this. I'll keep trying that all you can do. Nice fish brother
Yea they can be caught in colder water it’s just not the same as the spring or summer or fall I think during the winter time blues are alot better to target at that time cause they like the cold water a lot more then flatheads.
Cats sometimes are on the edge of drops from shallow to deep on a slope the depth the catfish on a slope depending conditions and food. Sometimes catfish are the bottom of thick grass pockets or brush pile pockets a pocket in rock piles nears holes of points. Point is catfish move due to conditions and forage.
Something tells me you been in that spot an hr to 2 hrs. I would have left after 10 minutes no bites. I'd move up aways like 36 steps. Key make sure to have and wear hipwader boots. You can walk into water up to your knees. After 10 minutes move 36 steps. That's like telephone poles distance away which is perfect. You wear hipwaders no worries of snagging low hanging branches plus if fish are out deeper you can cast further.
I dream of finding a good spot like that. Looks so peaceful. Thank you for sharing.

Great video! I was wondering, I’ve heard flatheads are pretty active in the winter (surprisingly), do you find that to be true?
